Third in Charge /Room Leader Aged 2-5 Years 

Salary - £30,160 Per Annum 40 hours per week all year round, Monday to Friday.

Rainbow Day Nursery is a truly unique setting, providing children with a slice of the countryside right in the heart of the city. Housed in a charming, spacious, and bright church hall, our nursery boasts two beautiful gardens that offer a wealth of learning opportunities. About the Third in Charge / Room Leader Role:
We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Third in Charge / Room Leader to join our wonderful team. In this role, you will lead a designated room, ensuring a nurturing and stimulating environment that supports children’s development and well-being. You will work closely with the Nursery Manager and Deputy Manager to assist in the smooth operation of the nursery, including sharing responsibilities for opening and closing duties.

As the Room Leader, you will be instrumental in fostering an environment where creativity, exploration, and physical activity thrive, while supporting both the children and the team around you. This is a fantastic opportunity to make a real difference in children’s early years development.

As a Nursery Third in Charge/Room Leader, you will:

• Provide stimulating and purposeful experiences, environments and resources to children, that are appropriate to their age and stage of development
• Enhance the all-around daily needs of children, including their physical, intellectual, social and emotional development
• Assist staff in updating the EyLog system and their child learning journals with the highest quality
• Promote respect and credibility for this position by leading as a role model with impartiality and consistency
• Assist with embedding an effective key person approach to enable children to form secure attachments and identify training or development needs for staff
• Maintain accurate records and accounts relating to children and staff on EyMan system and on file
• Ensure the safety and wellbeing of every child, staff, parent and visitor at all times
• Understand and ensure that the requirements of the statutory framework for the EYFS are met

As a Nursery Third in Charge/Room Leader, you will need:

• Full and relevant Level 3 in Childcare qualification - Essential
• Over 1 years’ experience working in Early Years - Essential
• Over 6 months’ experience working in a senior position - Desirable
• Sound knowledge of Ofsted expectations to achieve a Good or Outstanding rating - Desirable
• Knowledge of the statutory framework for the EYFS and regulatory requirements - Essential
• Fluent in written and spoken English - Essential
