Nursery Assistant

42.5 hours per week, Monday - Friday, All year round

Salary - from £8.60 per hour

Cherrylands Nursery is located in the picturesque grounds of Weybridge, just near Brooklands Business Park. With excellent public transport links and a spacious car park, our nursery offers a convenient and accessible location for commuters. Our intimate and unique setting provides a nurturing environment where young minds can thrive. Nestled in a beautiful rural area, the nursery gives children ample opportunities to engage with the outdoors. We feature a large outdoor play area, complete with a climbing frame, as well as a dedicated baby garden, allowing children to explore and play in a safe, stimulating environment.

We are currently seeking a Nursery Assistant  to join our expanding team. This full-time role offers 42.5 hours per week, with varying shift patterns between 8am and 6pm. Our nursery operates year-round and is not a term-time only position. To apply, you’ll need a full, relevant Level 3 childcare qualification. The salary for this position is from£8.60 an hour , depending on your qualifications and experience.

As Nursery Assistant, you will:

  • Ensure the safety and wellbeing of every child, staff, parent and visitor at all times
  • Understand the requirements of the statutory framework for the EYFS and staff:child ratios
  • Provide engaging and purposeful experiences, environments and resources to children, that are appropriate to their age and stage of development
  • Facilitate a strong key person approach to enable children to form secure attachments and cover all children daily when colleagues are absent
  • Observe and support children’s development, update the EyLog system and children’s learning journals with accuracy and relevance, and seek guidance from colleagues or Room Leader if in doubt
  • Provide the all-around daily needs of children, including their physical, intellectual, social and emotional development
