We are looking for an inspirational Kitchen Assistant to join our nursery in Stanwick, Northamptonshire to help out with serving meals, preparing light meals and snacks, and tidying up following mealtimes.

Acorn at Stanwick is based in a historic village in Northamptonshire, which offers a homely space for children to relax and have fun whilst learning and socialising with other children. We work closely with the community and often become involved with village events and use the local amenities and surrounding area, including our own raised beds at the local allotment.

We have recently expanded the Nursery and the role is to cover this expansion in nursery numbers.

The role needs to cover between 25 hours per week, working between 12:00pm and 17:30 pm Monday to Friday.

Catering experience would be essential, and knowledge of allergens too would be advantageous.

Experience in kitchen regulations and Environmental health inspections/expectations.

The need to cover the chef whilst on annual leave/sickness is an essential requirement of this role, therefore cooking experience is essential.

Food hygiene level three can be obtained once in employment if required.

We’re proud to be one of the leading childcare providers in Milton Keynes, Northampton and Bedford with over 30 years’ experience who specialise in nature pedagogy and promoting the professional development of our employees. We believe that childcare needs a personal touch, and our nurseries and out-of-school clubs offer flexibility and individuality with a homely feel. As a not-for-profit organisation, we place our children’s well-being at the heart of our work.

Successful applicants must be able to provide ‘right to work in the UK’ documentation, provide two satisfactory references and undertake an enhanced DBS check prior commencing employment.
