Nursery Room Leader
Full time/maternity cover, 40 hours per week over 4 days, May 2025
to December 2025
We are currently recruiting for an experienced, enthusiastic
and committed Nursery Room Leader with the desire and drive to be part
of ‘what is possible’ in our nursery, Little Farlington.
‘Little Farlington’ is a nursery and pre-school, which is all about
'what is possible'. Our mission is to provide the foundations for
strong and successful future learning by fostering innate curiosity
and individuality in our youngest learners, encouraging them to take
risks, lead, play collaboratively, develop resilience, and discover,
explore and adventure. The nursery development has further expanded
Farlington School's position as an all-through school and nursery from
6 months to 18 years.
Our nursery forms an important part of our whole school.
Farlington is a co-educational day and boarding school, set in 33
acres of beautiful Sussex countryside. The school enjoys a strong

an all-through school, our approach to specialist teaching at Little

Job Description
The role of the Nursery Room Leader is to take responsibility
for the day-to-day running of their room, all aspects of the
environment, managing staff within, and ensuring that all children
receive the highest standards of care and education so that each
child’s needs are met, and they develop and thrive at Little Farlington.
The Nursery Room Leader performs an important role in caring
for children, maintaining a high-quality, stimulating learning
environment, supervising staff and developing others through their
strong knowledge and skills.
This role would suit someone who is creative and reflective,
able to implement new ideas and use a range of strategies to
continually improve practice. They will have experience of working
within a nursery and be ambitious for the quality of care,
relationships and education in the setting. They are supportive of the
management team, want to progress their career and develop new skills,
and can bring innovative ideas to the nursery.
You will need to hold a full and relevant qualification in
Early Years at Level 3 or above, understand the requirements of the
EYFS and Ofsted and and ensure they are met, and have experience
working in a nursery setting.
