Bright Horizons Watford Day Nursery and Preschool held a Family Fun Day on Saturday 20th January to celebrate a £120,000 investment for the nursery. The nursery, which was rated ‘Good’ by Ofsted in May last year, has had a complete rebrand following the acquisition of Kidsunlimited nurseries by Bright Horizons.

The investment has covered an extensive refurbishment of the indoor environments and also catered for an enhanced preschool, complete with ICT suite and children’s kitchen allowing the nursery to now take children from 3 months to 5 years.

Mayor of Watford Dorothy Thornhill along with Deputy Mayor Cllr Peter Taylor attended the event to officially open and celebrate the new features and benefits for the nursery’s families.

Mayor Thornhill, who was a teacher for 25 years, was very impressed with the nursery facility and applauded the Nursery Manager, Lizzie Abbott, for creating a “home from home feel” as well as providing excellent opportunities for children to explore and learn.

All the nursery staff, including Bright Horizons support staff came together to create a special day for the families and their children, who enjoyed a local children’s entertainer and member of The Magic Circle Auntie Julie, a face painter, free family studio portraits and a showcase of the nursery’s menu created by their chef.
