Festivities were well underway at Nature Trails Day Nursery in Cawston as families gathered at the setting for a fun-filled Christmas Fayre, all whilst raising vital funds for food banks.
Following 12 months of fundraising for The Trussell Trust food bank network, families and colleagues from the award-winning setting on Coventry Road were delighted to end the year on a high with a further £1,000.00 contribution to the charity, generated from the event with attractions including bauble painting, gingerbread decorating and a seasonal bake sale.
During the event, families also enjoyed festive games and activities including ‘Name the Elf’ and a lucky dip, whilst children were also thrilled to visit Santa Claus and his helpers in the special grotto area, where each child received an early present ahead of Christmas Day.
Throughout the year, Nature Trails teams and families have taken part in countless fundraising ventures for the cause, from pyjama days and pumpkin carving competitions to summer fetes and sponsored events, as well as holding regular collections of essential food and household items to donate to the Rugby Foodbank to help local people in need.
Nature Trails Day Nursery Charity Representative, Louise Gulliver explained;
“We had a truly magical day at the Christmas Fayre and we have been absolutely blown away by the generosity shown towards The Trussell Trust. Over the course of this year, we've been dedicated to fundraising for this wonderful charity, which provides emergency food and support to those in need. We couldn't have achieved this without the incredible support and participation of our amazing nursery community and are hugely grateful.”
