WHAT WE ARE LEARNING - EASTER

Clever Cats

For the next couple of weeks in Clever Cats we will be celebrating Easter. The Clever Cats will learn about the story of Easter and also make their own eggs. We will enjoy a number egg hunt around the nursery grounds and also participate in some planting. The Clever Cats will be visited by the police on the 9th April, and learn all about the people who help us. We will also be looking at diversity as it is national Autism day! Our story of the week will be “Supertato” and “Ear Muffs To The Moon”.

Clever Kittens

Over the next two weeks in Clever Kittens we are going to be exploring our dreams of who we would like to be when we grow up! We will be working on our independence of dressing up as we dress up as different workers. As part of autism awareness Clever Kittens will be wearing the colour blue, looking at other people's feelings or emotions and how we can help them as a friend. As part of Easter Clever Kittens will be using their counting skills and repeat or follow words from the story, they have to find and count all the Easter eggs they can find in the Easter egg hunt book. We will also be having an egg and spoon race in the garden and getting creative by making Easter pictures.

Ladybirds

Over the next two weeks, the Ladybirds are carrying on exploring Spring and celebrating Easter! The main learning focus will be around Maths. The children will be creating their own Easter eggs. We are also going on an egg hunt. During this activity the children will have the opportunity to explore different materials, learn animal names and sounds, count the eggs and learn prepositions.  

Butterflies

Over the next two weeks, the Butterflies will be looking at Easter! We will be trying to roll some eggs in paint to create our own pictures, we will be putting yellow, green and red paint into a box and placing the eggs in there to tilt the box around to make a picture. We will be focusing on drinking from open-top cups and building confidence to drink from them ourselves with little to no support.
