Specialist business property adviser, Christie & Co, has announced the sale of The POD Nursery in the affluent village of Wilmslow in Cheshire.
The POD is a unique, charming, and highly successful children’s day nursery of exceptional quality which has an effective operating capacity for 75 children.
Operating from within the grounds of Total Fitness Club, Handforth, The POD was established in 2022 by Sophie and Kane Mccumesky, an ambitious husband-and-wife team who, in a very short space of time, built a highly successful business that has flourished financially and reputationally year on year which sets it aside from other nurseries in the area.
The nursery decor and interior have been well thought out and carefully crafted by Sophie and her dedicated team to spark children's imaginations and create a cosy, dream-like environment that feels like home.
Following a sales process with Sofia Beck at Christie & Co, The POD has been purchased by Kids Planet Day Nurseries, which now has over 230 day nursery settings across the UK.
Sophie Mccumesky, former founder and owner of The POD Nursery, comments, “Growing the POD has been an absolute dream come true. The relationships, memories and magic created over the last three years will last a lifetime. We are so very proud of our team and our families and know the adventure will only continue with Kids Planet.”
Sofia Beck, Associate Director – Childcare & Education at Christie & Co, comments, “The POD is truly a one-of-a-kind setting, brimming with imagination and wonder, thanks to the personal touches added by Sophie and her passionate team. It's uncommon for a nursery business to flourish so rapidly, especially one that began operations during the pandemic. Therefore, it was no surprise that the sales process moved swiftly, given the remarkable opportunity it presented and the huge scope and potential for a new operator. I wish Sophie and Kane the very best for their next chapter, whatever that may be, I have no doubt it will be another successful one.”
The POD Nursery was sold for an undisclosed price.
