This week, Little Adventurers Nursery in Upminster, Essex is excited to be celebrating its ten-year anniversary.

To mark the special occasion, the nursery is planning a series of celebrations for children and staff to enjoy. This includes the launch of a planting patch within Engayne Primary School; a personal visit from an Ice cream van; a celebratory cake and nursery parties for children and staff. Later this year the nursery also hoping to plant a tree locally in recognition of their 10-year milestone.

The manager of Little Adventurers Nursery is Ginny Andreas, who recently marked an incredible 40-year career in the early years sector. Ginny commented, “The past 10 years has been a joyful journey of exploration and learning for all the children and staff team. I am so proud of all we've achieved together, watching each child flourish in the tender care of our fantastic practitioners. Through the inevitable joys and challenges and the changes to policy in Early Years, we all remain dedicated to supporting parents to create a rich childhood where each child is cherished!”

“We are delighted to be marking this milestone anniversary and celebrating with our wonderful team and our families both past and present. We would like thank our wonderful team of staff who have made our nursery such a success over the past decade and who help us continue to grow and go from strength to strength.”

Little Adventurers are proud of their devoted practitioners, many of whom have been with them for the majority of their 10 year journey, like Kerry, their Assistant Deputy who said, “It has been such a pleasure to spend such a long time in one setting, seeing so many families come through the nursery; from their initial viewing when baby might not yet be born, to watching them settle in and build relationships all the way to leaving for big school!”

“I have been privileged to work alongside inspiring practitioners throughout my time here. Seeing apprentices develop their early years skills, grow in confidence, form friendships and even have babies of their own is so positive in a sector which has struggled with recruitment and is so encouraging for the future of early years.”

Headteacher Sara Sankey from Engayne Primary School based opposite the nursery, said, “It was wonderful to have the children from Little Adventurers join our year 4 children in a special planting session. As Little Adventurers are 10 years old they provided a camelia bush to plant with a range of flowers. Our children love having them to visit us.”

Ginny Andreas’ passion for early years has inspired generations of children and staff throughout her career, including those at Little Adventurers Nursery. It was in 2015 that she helped one family realise their dream of setting up a business. Little Adventurers Nursery was the result of 10 years of planning for owner Lee Stimpson. When Ginny came on-board as an experienced nursery manager, that dream finally became a reality.

A decade later, the nursery now caters for more than 60 children and offers them the greatest possibility for discovery, exploration and adventure for children aged from 6 months to 5 years old.

Ginny and Deputy Manager Danielle work together to ensure the nursery supports a rich childhood both indoors and outdoors. As they play, the children have time and space to become creative and independent individuals, learning the essentials they need to become life-long learners.

Ginny added, “We have seen a lot of change in 10 years – both within our nursery and in the early years sector in general, but we continue to make a real, positive and lasting difference in our children’s lives. We would like to say a huge thank you to each and every family we have had the privilege to meet throughout the past decade. It has been such a wonderful journey; we are extremely grateful to you for allowing us to be part of your children’s lives and we hope the children all remember their special time with us.”

Little Adventurers Nursery has a current review score of 9.8 out of 10 based on reviews from parents. A review on daynurseries.co.uk says, “From the moment we stepped into Little Adventurers Nursery to view it as a potential nursery for our daughter, we knew it was the one and we have only good things to say. Our daughter is thriving there."

Kerry added, “It always feels such a privilege to see families as they build trusting relationships with all staff and have faith in the leadership of the setting to provide excellent care for their little ones- I always feel such happiness when we are able to offer a place to a new family and hope they feel this too.”

Little Adventurers Nursery has gained many accolades over the years. Just some of these include Nursery Manager of the Year Award, receiving Health and Wellbeing Awards from The Mayor of London as well as welcoming The Deputy Mayor of London to the setting in 2019. Ginny is honoured to be invited to a forthcoming Garden Party at Buckingham Palace this Summer.
