View Full Details of Kindred Windmill Montessori Nursery SchoolShe settled in very quickly. The relationship between parents, staff, and her are very harmonious. They spend time outside every day in all weathers. Learning is structured but playful. Mostly staff are patient and are encouraging her to do tasks on her own.
My daughter is super happy, everyday she goes to the nursery looking forward to meeting with her carers and friends. She has shown significant progress on different aspects of her development milestones.
Kindred Windmill Montessori Nursery School has been a really great fit for our energetic toddler who likes to do things for himself (eg, put his own coat on and brush his own teeth). The nursery have truly fostered this Montessori value of enabling the children to do things for themselves. They have shown patience and kindness to our son as he has navigated various challenging developmental phases (learning to share, learning to use gentle hands, potty training, etc) and we are so grateful. The outdoor space is not huge but it's wonderful that it exists and they use it well and change it creatively for the seasons. I'm not sure how the school uses ICT or what equipment is available, so this could be an area for growth. Every day the school brings in outside companies to lead an activity such as music or sports and our son loves it! We are thankful for the overall experience and would recommend the nursery and plan to send our younger son one day as well.
Kindred Windmill Montessori Nursery School is an absolute oasis. They have individualised unique learning paths for the children, recognising that each child is unique. My child is learning to think and act for himself and gaining a thoughtfulness about the world around him thanks to the excellent teachers. I'm watching my son grow and develop into confident and kind individuals who felt empowered by the way they were treated. The school is special because of the great care and expertise of the head and the deeply thoughtful way that Montessori principals are ingrained in the life of the nursery. Children are given so much scope to follow their interests but all within a strong framework of learning to care for and work with each other. I highly recommend Kindred Windmill Montessori Nursery School.
This is our daughter's first term at Windmill and she has settled extremely well. We could not have wished for a better start for her. The nursery offers settling sessions prior to the official start date which we found to be invaluable. The team at Windmill are caring and invested in the children's development, and the headteacher provides very good leadership. There are some brilliant afternoon clubs which are delivered with external providers and which our daughter absolutely loves. We are proud to be part of this nursery community.
We absolutely love this nursery! Our eldest son previously attended Windmill so it was a no-brainer to send our second son there too. He has a wonderful time at Windmill. He’s always telling us of all the fun educational activities he does as well as the friends he has made. I really like the fact that the nursery groups are small, so teachers are able to focus more on the children. The atmosphere and the rooms are always bright safe and clean. Children receive lots of nutritional snacks and nutritional food for lunch. They always go the extra mile to celebrate holiday seasons as well as summer sports days. All staff are very friendly and caring.
The best nursery in Maida Vale area - small, nurturing environment with Montessori pedagogy prioritised. The team are always looking for novel and creative activities for the children, including a refresh of the outdoor play area last year. The curriculum now includes an outdoor learning/gardening session which is essential for city kids. My hope is that the nursery builds more relationships with nearby schools and can support parents through the transition into big schools going forward and grow their reputation that way too.
I am very happy with this nursery. It incorporates Montessori education and the teachers are enthusiastic and attentive. I like the clean environment and the food. My son enjoys it very much and I am happy to have him in the nursery.
Our son has greatly benefited from the nurturing environment provided by the teachers at Windmills. A welcoming and inclusive learning culture exists at this wonderful nursery. We are very fortunate to have been able to secure a place for our son.
My child has settled in wonderfully at Windmill Nursery. We're thrilled to see how happy he is there and happy to go to school each day. The teachers are not only friendly but also nurturing, providing a warm and supportive environment for the children. We appreciate the balance between structured learning and free play. The headteacher is excellent at keeping parents informed and involved in the nursery's activities. Additionally, the outdoor garden is a fantastic feature that allows the children to explore and get fresh air. Overall, I would definitely recommend Windmill Nursery to other families looking for caring early learning for their children.
We’ve started with a very gentle settling-in period where all the teachers were supportive and open to feedback. My child is learning many new songs, words, skills and happy to go to the nursery in the mornings.
Very happy with Kindred Windmill Montessori Nursery School! My daughter loves her school and teachers, the school really is her happy place. She is only 3 but brings back home very creative things (3D art and craft, solar systems!) and they make learning so much fun. Her key teacher is brilliant and also gives us regular, valuable and very specific feedback which has been very helpful. The other teachers are also great and my daughter is very fond of them all. We are also very impressed with the phonics programme at the school and there is a strong focus on learning to read and write. The school also gets regular visits from the local librarian. In addition, there is a strong focus on overall development which is evident through the school's afternoon club programme organised by the headteacher. The yoga and dance sessions run are my daughter's favourite. We are so glad we chose Windmill and highly recommend it!
Every morning, drop-off at Kindred Windmill Montessori Nursery School makes me smile as I witness my child eagerly running into the arms of her teachers and their assistants. It's a heartwarming scene that encapsulates the essence of Windmill's nurturing haven where education intertwines seamlessly with love and respect. Through interactive activities and group exercises, Windmill cultivates not only academic proficiency but also emotional intelligence and social skills, laying a solid foundation for the children's future success.
Very happy at Kindred Windmill Montessori Nursery School. Feel they have a balance of a nurturing environment, great space with outdoor play yet still delivering a Montessori curriculum. My son is doing very well and surprises us all the time with his knowledge learned through rotation of topics like space, holidays and nature.
Both my children attended this nursery and we are huge fans. This school is such a nurturing, safe, happy place where children discover their passions and skills and flourish into joyful little people. The school is remarkably clean, the teachers are skilled and prepared and the program of afternoon activities (yoga, football, Spanish, arts, music) just a cherry on top of it all! Couldn't recommend this nursery more, a true gem.
My daughter recently started at the Montessori and her transition was so seamless- she wanted to stay longer on her very first day. On her days in, she comes home happy and full of stories and speaks of her teachers with affection. I’ve found communication with staff to be particularly good, with swift responses and lots of reassurance with any queries. I’m looking forward to her further developing holistically in an environment which is clearly both creative and nurturing.
All the staff at the nursery are very friendly and approachable. My 3-year-old boy settled in very comfortably with help from the teachers. Knowing that my boy is safe, comfortable and learning in a good environment makes me very happy.
Very good nursery, every week our son comes with new songs, words etc... the staff are attentive and they do a lot of activities indoors and outdoors. We can feel how quickly our son is learning and how much he loves going there!
Amazing teachers and headmistress make this school a real gem. Our little boy has blossomed and become more social, confident and knowledgeable since attending the school. Teachers clearly love the children and their jobs.
Our son settled into Windmill Montessori really well (after being at home with us for 2 full years). He attends the morning sessions at the moment. We like the sense of orderliness and calm at the nursery and our son is thriving in the supportive setting. He speaks openly about his teachers; he is clearly warmly looked after and cared for. The low child to teacher ratio gives me confidence that his needs are being assessed and he is being developed. The garden is a big perk - he loves being outside and it is rare to find a Montessori with outdoor space in our neighbourhood. The nursery is well-managed and that leads to a happy environment for everyone. Our son lights up when he sees a classmate at the park in a Windmill uniform. He says “friend from x (blue, purple, etc) group” - it’s helping him develop an understanding of community. Thanks Windmill!
