View Full Details of Childs Play Nursery School LtdWe couldn't be happier with Childs Play Nursery School and feel very fortunate that our girls attend this wonderful nursery. From the moment you walk through the doors, you're greeted with a warm, caring atmosphere that immediately puts you at ease. The staff are so kind and nurturing. Our girls adore the team, always looking forward to going in everyday. The activities are fun, engaging, and thoughtfully planned to help them grow and thrive. We've seen such a positive impact on their confidence and learning, and it's such a joy to hear them come home excited to share what they've done. The communication with parents is brilliant, too - I always feel included in what's happening and know our girls are in the best possible hands. We can't thank the Child's Play family enough for taking great care of our girls!
Childs Play Nursery School is an outstanding nursery. Previously my daughter was at another local nursery so I'm able to compare both, and the level of care and attention my daughter gets at Childs Play is by far superior. The setting is fabulous with 2 lovely gardens on a quiet road. The facilities are fantastic and my daughter always has something to do, including looking after the 2 rabbits whom she loves. There are also weekly visits to the Star and Garter which is lovely to be part of the community. The staff are what makes this nursery so special. They are so caring and attentive to all the children's needs, including my daughter's milk and egg allergy. They really notice her development and have commented about her progress which is so lovely to hear. They do regular parents evenings and get to know each family very well, as well as each child. The level of effort the staff put in with the app updates is so appreciated. Well done to the managers and thank you for everything.
My daughter moved to this nursery when she turned two after friends recommended it. We could not be happier. The manager and the team are the best and my daughter comes home every day with tales of adventure and happiness. What more could you ask for. Can't wait until my other daughter turns two!
The most wonderful nursery. Our son has loved it there- they go the extra mile with lots of special activities for the children, watching caterpillars turn into butterflies, bringing other animals in, baking, a program of books to read at home, etc. A family feeling, nurturing environment. Nothing negative to say!
This is an exceptional nursery. The staff are extremely kind, dedicated, and caring. They know each child extremely well and facilitate individual development. The food is home-cooked and delicious and the menus are adventurous (my fussy little eater at home, will eat enthusiastically here). The children spend a lot of time outside, and also in planned activities, like science week. Random events like finding a wet bumble bee one day are turned into fun, learning experiences. The children are also encouraged to develop a sense of community, with regular visits to the Royal Star and Garter Home. They have some lovely nursery traditions, for example, every child bakes a cake on their birthday to share with all of their nursery friends. At Xmas, they bake gingerbread men. My child has grown and developed so much during the time she has been here and it is clear that she will be very well prepared when the time comes for her to starts school next year.
My son has been at Child's Play for a couple of years... the best nursery in the Borough for sure! Honestly, the ladies that work there are all so caring and the learning environment they have is insane. They are always outdoors in one of two gardens rain or shine and always learning from whatever they are up to. Thoroughly recommend the chef's cooking as well! The kids eat it all and the range of healthy foods on the menus are amazing. I often get jealous of my son's lunches! Six members of staff in particular have all caught my son's heart massively. We will definitely be keeping in touch and have a hand with babysitters for the future now my son is moving on to big school. Honestly can't thank everyone enough at Child's Play.
The best nursery in the world. They are so caring, nurturing, patient, and kind here. My little girl has flourished under their care and grown so much in confidence. It's so wonderful and comforting knowing that she's in such excellent hands every day. They have a stellar reputation in the community and with current and former parents. I've never heard a negative thing about Childs Play and after having had a child with them for 2+ years, I can see why. Would highly recommend them!
Child's Play is the loveliest and most nurturing place. The manager and her team care deeply about every child who goes there. They consider every child's individual needs and strive to get the very best from every one of them, tailoring the approach and allowing the children the freedom to be happy. They have a lovely garden and the manager's love of nature is shared with the children. They grow vegetables, have rabbits, and watch caterpillars grow into butterflies and tadpoles into frogs. The manager's sister cooks wonderful fresh food every day which the children love so much, the recipes and food become famous in our households. They bake fresh cakes for everyone's birthdays which are absolutely delicious. There are small child to adult ratios meaning there are always enough adults to allow time for training or holidays. Child's play is so wonderful, they end up feeling like family.
Amazing nursery! The lunches are cooked onsite with a varied healthy delicious-sounding menu. The staff are amazing and genuinely care about doing what's best for each child. My daughter had a hard time with potty training and they couldn't have been more patient or supportive, never rushing her or making her feel bad for the accidents, but instead trying lots of different strategies to help her navigate it and get there. It's a small nursery in the best way, would highly recommend it!
There's something incredibly special about Child's Play - it's unlike any other nursery I've ever stepped into. The setting itself is welcoming, well-equipped, and clearly full of fun and joy. The two gardens are wonderful and the children spend time out there every day, come rain or shine! They engage with the wildlife, help to take care of their nursery surroundings and the place is very much an extension of home. The staff knows each child as if they're their own, all their quirks, likes, dislikes, and things that are important to them. Many of the staff members have been there for years (some for decades!) which tells you all you need to know about how lovely the setting is. The activities they plan for the children are well thought out, wholesome, and thoroughly enjoyed by the little ones. Our little girl has been there for 18 months now, and our little boy will be joining us next year. It's a truly special nursery and any family joining is incredibly lucky.
We switched our daughter from her previous nursery to Child Play because we felt she wasn't developing as she should. Changing I was the best decision we ever made. Our daughter was extremely shy and never spoke up for herself. The dedicated staff empowered her to find her voice and encouraged her to reach out for help when she needed it. The transformation has been remarkable - she is now more confident and communicative. In addition to her shyness, our daughter had several sensory issues. The team went above and beyond to accommodate her needs. They wrote a letter to the local development center, helping us get on the waitlist for an ADHD and autism assessment. Their proactive approach has been invaluable. The nursery staff created a supportive environment tailored to her needs. They introduced a timer so she could have quiet time when needed and allowed her to wear headphones to manage sensory overload. These thoughtful accommodations have made a world of difference for her.
Honestly, the best nursery I have ever seen or experienced. They have taken amazing care of our girl, who joined following a not so great experience elsewhere. She grew in confidence and developed incredibly close relationships. She left for school this September. The nursery only has one class, this allows for mixing of age groups between two and five. As a result, the older kids learn to interact, care and operate in a diverse group, taking account of each other's abilities. It also allowed daughter and younger son to spend time together, which is just magical. The activities are varied and include themed weeks like science week - this year it included frogs growing from tadpoles, butterflies from caterpillars and keeping watch over a nest of birds in the garden. They prepare the kids for school and have happy last days, which somehow manages to turn leaving into a happy event. The individual attention is outstanding. The best nursery in the world.
My husband and I would like to express our delight with this nursery. We are extremely satisfied so far with the upmost level of compassionate care they give our 2 year old son. He only attends twice a week and only started a month ago, but already we are seeing developments within him and we love watching his confidence build up over time. The staff are friendly and welcoming, and you can tell that all the children love it there. When we drop our son off in the mornings, there are always two to three little friends waiting at the door to welcome him in, the "welcome committee"! We have a messaging group for all the parents and it's a joy to meet and chat with them regularly. We couldn't be happier with this choice of nursery, it really feels like a home away from home and as it's quite a small nursery it really feels that your child gets the attention they require especially if upset or anxious. I am going to keep recommending Childs Play to everyone I meet! Thank you Childs Play Nursery School Ltd.
My son left the nursery in August 2022 and my daughter was there before him. It is a wonderful place to grow up - the staff have so much enthusiasm and care and the small setting means children can mix with all different ages. The gardens are a great asset and it can only be described as somewhere magical. The food is fresh, varied and cooked onsite every day - both of mine ate so well there. I also went to Childs Play Nursery School myself as a child and only have fond memories - the owner still remembers me and my siblings and I could not have chosen anywhere else to send my own children to. If you are looking for a small, home away from home setting then do not hesitate. At Childs Play your child is part of the family.
We feel so privileged to have had our son to experience the outstanding childcare provided by the staff at Child’s Play Surbiton. This is a small nursery with the most personable possible service, my son had experienced a couple of other nurseries in the area before this one but Child’s Play is just in a different league. The staff are beyond exceptional, the food is cooked on site by the adorable chef, you feel they really care for your child and the nursery facilities are so modern and educational. Our son had yoga, French, dance sessions. The Manager carries years of experience and she drives the business to consistent excellence. I have heard from many parents that Child’s Play is the best nursery in Surbiton, which justifies the waiting list, but be patient as the waiting is well worthy! Child’s Play has prepared my August born son to primary school, he has now started Reception and from day 1 was boosting with confidence. Thanks to the Manager and the Team.
Childs Play Nursery School Ltd is the most amazing nursery, it's a true gem and we feel very lucky and grateful our daughter was able to be part of the family that Childs Play is. The care and nurturing of the children goes far beyond the expectations of a nursery. There is a genuine love and passion to help the children grow and learn about the wonderful world they live in. For example: in the build-up to Christmas the children made gingerbread men that ran away before being caught to see the world and send a postcard from every destination they visited before returning back to the children in time for Christmas. Such a magical way for the children to learn about different places in the world. The children wrote to the zoo to send them a pet and the zoo did reply in great length and sent the children the perfect pet. The list goes on, not to mention the amazing garden the children spend so much time in. It's been such a wonderful experience and really helped to build our daughter's confidence.
This is an outstanding nursery! My son has just left due to him starting school. He attended for 2 and a half years. The manager and staff are amazing people and have treated my son like family. The nursery is small and only takes children 2 years old and up and so are able to focus their energies on a smaller age range and number of children. I have especially enjoyed hearing what my son has got up to every day and seeing his behaviour, confidence, reading and listening skills improve. The passion they have for the children is outstanding and I can't thank them enough for giving my son a safe, loving and inspirational home to play, explore, ask questions, build relationships and make friends. What could be more important for a little person to start their educational journey with such love all around them? I cannot fault Childs Play Nursery and would highly recommend them to any parent looking for a nursery for their child.
This nursery is very special and has become part of our family. Both our children have attended for 4 days per week from two years old until they started school and it is outstanding in all aspects. The staff are amazing and nothing is too much trouble. My children talk of it so fondly and have come away with many special memories and been ahead in their development and readiness for school by the time they started school. I recommend this nursery to everyone in the area and will continue to do so. They have also adapted so well to recent Covid circumstances and made parents and children feel very safe. Don't hesitate!
Thank you Childs Play Nursery for being our children’s second family. We will miss your genius and your kindness. Our children both had such a good experience with you, 6 years between they each attended. Thank you for all the magical little ways you got my son in the door each morning, for the beautiful garden spaces, for the tea parties, and for teaching and observing them on their Early Years journey. Love and thanks from all of us.
Fantastic. Only word for Childs Play Nusery. My children had the best start here and could not have been happier. My son used to cry about coming home! Clean, stable, engaging, homely, they adapt their style to suit your child. My two that attended were very different characters but both equally well cared for and happy. Not for one second did I ever worry about leaving my child with them. I wish they were a school that went on and on. My children would have happily attended forever. Nonetheless, sadly the time came to leave but with us, we take many wonderful memories, excellent table manners that I can take no credit for and a pair of well-spoken children with tummies full of the chef’s wonderful lunches. I have no affiliation to this nursery other than as a parent who used them and I really cannot recommend them any more highly than I do. Visit for yourself, I’m sure you will agree.
