We couldn't be more thrilled with our experience at The Old School Nursery! There is by a huge range of engaging activities that keep the child entertained, challenged, and learning. Whether it's arts and crafts, sensory play, or outdoor exploration. What really stands out, is the incredibly caring, knowledgeable, and dedicated nursery room staff. They go above and beyond to make every child feel special, and you can see how much they truly care about the children. They are always so thoughtful and attentive, not only to the children's needs but also to the families. They take the time to learn about each family, which creates a real sense of community. The staff makes you and your child feel welcomed each day, and you can tell they truly miss the children when they're away. Their thoughtful approach makes it easy to trust them completely. They are incredibly accommodating when unexpected situations arise. They handle everything with professionalism and a reassuring kindness.

We have nothing but wonderful things to say about The Old School Nursery. We had heard great reviews before our daughter started there at 10 months old but our experience has exceeded our already high expectations. We love how much the staff seem to really know and care about the children and we have been so impressed by all the different sensory activities which are arranged every week and all the healthy food options she has been exposed to. Ultimately, the main thing is seeing how happy our daughter is when she arrives at nursery every day, which is all you can hope for from her childcare experience. We feel so lucky that we found the Old School Nursery.

Both my children are currently at the nursery and I cannot ask for a better environment. They are both really excited to go and the development of my children is great. The staff are always willing to share advice and are always super helpful. Lots of opportunities to go outside.

The Old School Nursery is a great nursery. My little boy loves it. The staff are so nice and friendly, they make him feel very comfortable. He is very shy, but since he started, his confidence has grown so much. He is always excited to go, he really enjoys the food and the forest school is a great experience.

We can't thank the staff and team at The Old School Nursery enough! We moved to the area in October 2023 and our 2 year old joined the caterpillar class and really enjoyed attending, doing fantastic activities, forest school and making new friends. Fast forward to today he is now in butterflies in his final year before school and has continued to flourish with his learning and phonics. The staff are really caring and genuinely interested in our son which makes it all the more comforting to know when we send our 14 month daughter in September 2025. Would highly recommend this nursery to anyone!

I would highly recommend the old-school nursery, my daughter loves it and has been thriving since starting a couple of months ago. All the staff are friendly, welcoming and professional. My daughter has built up some lovely relationships with many of the staff. She talks very fondly of the nursery between sessions. Our experience with the nursery has been excellent and we are excited for the experiences yet to come during my daughter's time at the nursery, as I'm sure it will continue to be fantastic.

Our son has been at The Old School Nursery for nearly a year and a half. It's a lovely nursery, they are all so lovely and caring. Our son loves going in to see all his friends and he adores all the team. He's been in birds and the bees and now caterpillars. We have been very pleased with the care and nurture he receives. Would highly recommend to anyone looking for a nursery that gives that little extra. We really appreciate the team at The Old School Nursery from the office that have great communication to the lovely ladies that daily take care of our boy.

My 2-year-old started The Old School Nursery in January 2025 and so far we have seen an incredible improvement in his eating, drinking and speech. The Old School Nursery is a warm environment that encourages learning through play. Every member of staff that you meet - from the office to the nursery rooms, are friendly and inviting. Members of staff who are not involved in the direct care of your children still make an effort to get to know your child and their personality and because of this; I have no worries or concerns about sending my son here. The food on offer is great. The smaller ratios are great as the children get further support and guidance than some of the bigger named establishments. My son particularly enjoys the crafts and activities on a typical day-to-day. He does 3 afternoons a week as there was hardly any space, it's that good! He joins 3 full days a week as of Sept 2025, and his baby sister joins in January 2026. As soon as I viewed the place I fell in love!

My son started here in September at 2 years and 4 months and the lovely team helped me gradually get him settled having never been looked after by anyone else. He now so looks forward to his mornings there, filled with fun activities and garden time. He talks so happily about the staff and his little friends. The meals for him are wonderful too, and we even get photo updates during his time there. Can't rate highly enough.

Our child has thoroughly enjoyed their time at The Old School Nursery. Every member of staff is incredibly kind and get to know each child (even outside of their room). The Forest School provision is excellent too.

Old school nursery is fantastic. We are so pleased with the care my little one is receiving at Old School Nursery. The staff are lovely and incredibly friendly, making it easy to trust them with my child. Communication is excellent, and I always feel informed about how he's getting on each day. The nursery is very organized and clean, which gives me peace of mind. My little boy has settled in quickly and absolutely loves his key worker. It's been such a positive experience, and I highly recommend Old School Nursery to other parents.

We could not be more pleased to have found The Old School Nursery. It was daunting to need nursery when going back to work when my daughter was 9 months old, but all staff we met on a tour, in the office and in the room were welcoming and friendly. It's no surprise then that my daughter has loved every day in the baby room and we trust the team completely to look after her as if she was their own. We know she is safe and happy at nursery. Her learning and development has skyrocketed and she is enjoying fun and varied experiences. Communication is excellent between home and nursery, face to face at drop off/pick up, through an app and emails. It's no surprise that people recommend The Old School to us so highly and we would recommend it to every family now too!

The Old School is a home from home and I’m so happy both of my children are now here. The staff are brilliant and go above and beyond with creativity and different activities to keep the children busy. There is so much for them to do. I’m never worried once I've done drop-off for the day.

We can't recommend The Old School Nursery enough; it is truly a special place where we're more than happy to leave our 2-year-old in such wonderful hands. Every single member of staff you meet, whether they work directly with your child or not, is welcoming, friendly and polite, the environment is always warm and joyful. As a first-time parent, it can be daunting leaving your child somewhere new, but we felt at ease immediately, and the feeling hasn't changed. Our little boy always comes out in high spirits and enjoys all the activities they provide. At the end of each session, the lovely staff give you such a detailed report of their day and get to know your child, and their likes/dislikes just as a family member would. For us, this nursey provides everything we could want and we're grateful for their care, kindness and professionalism.

The Old School nursery is without a doubt, without question, without hesitation - the best thing that has happened to my family and children. We have sent 2 children, from 9 months old to school age here and they have ended up beginning school as confident, friendly and sociable children. We know 100% that The Old School are a huge reason for this. They are kind, patient and polite carers, teaching our children core fundamentals and a strong moral grounding that will stay with them for years to come. I cannot recommend Ewa and her team are brilliant, catering to every child's specific needs and developing beyond any Ofsted requirements. We have made friends for life for our children and other parents who have become close friends now. If you have the chance to send your child here - do it!

Old School Nursery is hands down in my opinion the single best nursery we could have expected. They provide proper support for my daughter in a friendly and professional environment. Every single member of the staff cares utterly about the children in their care. In addition, my daughter suffers from additional needs and the support we have had as a family has been utterly mind-blowing - we certainly would not have coped as well as a family without the efforts that they made to make us feel so helped, supported and loved. A parent could not hope for a better place for their child to grow, learn and develop - it is a unique place.

The nursery staff always offer an incredibly warm greeting and make me feel safe entrusting them with my daughter. She reaches out for her key worker and clearly trusts them. The nursery is well organised and has excellent communication. They dealt with our daughter’s former lactose intolerance brilliantly, making substitutes at every meal so she could still enjoy the food on offer. She has developed well under their care and the socialisation has clearly done her good. Inside is clean and inviting, with plenty of fun activities for a varied play. The summary sheets given at the end of the day provide a really useful overview of our daughter’s day, including what she ate, drank, played with, and nappy changes. The nursery clearly takes pride in the work they do. They never want a child to feel left out and even have spares of things so if you forget to pack something. One of the nicest touches was the unexpected welcome package we received. We are very happy!

I cannot fault The Old School Nursery at Shapwick. My little girl has been going for 6 months and has settled in so well. The staff are so caring and I like their smaller ratios so you really feel like they know and understand your little ones. They do so many activities and crafts and at handover there is a detailed list of things your little one has been up to that day. My little girl’s key worker is amazing and gives feedback as to how she is getting on and notices lots of the little things too. There is an app we use to communicate with the nursery and they regularly upload photos of the day/activities. The children get outside every day and when a little older have access to forest school too. My little one's communication, language and self-care skills have really accelerated since attending nursery. Love this nursery, it’s a lovely place and really child-led too.

Our daughter started at The Old School Nursery in June 2023 after we relocated to the area. She'd been at nursery in London so we were nervous the impact of a big move and a change in nursery setting might have on her. But I can honestly say that moving her to The Old School was one of the best things about our move - she settled very quickly and the staff have been so wonderful - our daughter is clearly incredibly happy there. She now does three days a week - but I think if she had her way she'd like to go full time! Her days are filled with music, dance and outdoor activities and she is flourishing. We get a full breakdown of her day on pick up and it's clear the nursery is a very happy, welcoming and special environment.

Our daughter started at The Old School Nursery in June 2023 after we relocated to the area.
