View Full Details of Bright Horizons Surbiton Day Nursery and PreschoolOur son started at Bright Horizons when he was 12 months old and is now two and a half. From the very beginning, our experience has been wonderful. The team in the Baby Room was so warm and reassuring, which meant the world to us as nervous first-time parents. Our son quickly bonded with them, and we always felt confident that he was in great hands. Now in the Toddler Room, his development has been incredible, and that is truly thanks to the dedicated and caring staff. One member of staff, in particular, and the team create such a nurturing environment, filled with engaging and creative activities that have helped him grow in so many ways. The consistency of the team has been especially important to us, and their kindness and commitment make all the difference. We are so grateful to Bright Horizons for the love and care they show our son every day!
We are very happy with the care provided to our three year old son at the nursery, who has attended for the past two years now. The staff are delightful and very caring, and put a lot of effort into looking after the children well. The garden is a lovely large space, away from the heavy traffic of Ewell Road at the bottom of the hill. The nursery is open for 51 weeks of the year, from 7am to 6.30pm, which is extremely helpful to the working parent. It is a very dependable place. I would say it is good value for money, compared to hiring a nanny, for example. The cost of childcare has of course increased everywhere. There are various government funding schemes that help, however, that apply to this nursery. My son seems to like the food served, and eats well, although I am unable to rate it as I've never seen it myself. We are kept informed of activities, and sent updates about our son, via the Bright Horizons app. It is well-run, with responsive, reliable managing staff in charge.
Our daughter started just after her first birthday and is going into her final few months of pre-school before starting school. We'll really miss the nursery when she does - throughout her time there everyone has been so welcoming and genuinely invested in her experience and wellbeing. She has made great connections with the staff and they have all taken the time to really get to know her, nurture her interests and encourage her development. The team has involved us at every stage, been really accommodating and are already helping her to prepare for school. We are really grateful for the experience we've had and wouldn't hesitate to recommend the nursery!
Our daughter has been at the nursery for a year and a half, and we've been very pleased with the staff and range of age appropriate activities to date. The team are nurturing and mindful of each of their needs, always offering a cuddle at drop off. The outside space is great and they get the kids out at every opportunity to play or learn about environment (she's in the toddler room and last week they did some gardening and made a bird box). Would recommend to anyone looking for a suitable nursery.
My daughter started at Bright Horizons a few months ago and found it hard to settle in at first, but the staff were so supportive and caring for her that she is now excited to go to nursery every morning. The staff arrange lots of fun activities for the children, they regularly go outside to the garden which is brilliant with lots of toys and space to explore and climb. The food is great and my daughter loves it. My daughter has a few food allergies but I am assured and confident that she is well looked after and they cater for everything that she needs. The staff communicate well and the app is really useful to see what my daughter has been doing.
Surbiton Day Nursery has been an amazing place for my child. It's a nurturing environment where the staff are friendly, attentive, and truly care about my child's well-being. A special shout-out to the daily activities, which are always thoughtfully planned and creative, helping with both learning and social development. The regular updates (whether through the app or at pick-up) are fantastic and really help us stay connected with our child's day. Thank you for creating such a positive and welcoming space!
We have just recently started our little boy in the toddler room and could not be any happier with the time, care and support given to both toddler and mother during the settling in process! The staff have kept us updated with notes and pictures letting us know how our little one is getting on. We were offered extra settling in sessions and a booklet of staff photos for our little one to have at home to ease the process. The facilities and activities are fantastic and I am one very happy mum knowing my little boy is so well looked after and having the best time whilst at nursery.
Both our daughters have attended the nursery and absolutely love it. The staff in every room are caring, nurturing and so much fun. From baby room to pre-school they take so much time to make sure the children are settled and happy - the garden is excellent and the staff always work hard to bring creativity and games into the day. We really recommend and feel very lucky to have found such a great place to look after the children when they are small.
When we moved to Surbiton last year, my 2.5-year-old started and we love it so much that my baby started this year. We are so happy with the staff - they are very caring, nurturing and fun. My two (now in preschool room and baby room) have thrived and are very happy here and we absolutely love the garden!
The staffing team at Bright Horizons Surbiton Day Nursery and Preschool are fantastic. Every day they are welcoming, knowledgeable about my child's needs and curious about ways to help her develop. The range of activities they put on and the experiences they offer the young people in their care are superb. I particularly appreciate the time taken at the end of the day to chat about my daughter's progress. I can't praise the nursery highly enough and greatly appreciate how easy they have made my transition back to work for me and my daughter. Most importantly, she loves it there.
Our son has been attending Bright Horizons Surbiton Day Nursery and Preschool for just over a year, starting in the Baby Class, progressing to Toddler Class and now in the Nursery Class. He's very settled and happy, which speaks to the great care he receives. The staff are professional, caring and attentive, providing daily updates and regular progress reports via the app. The facilities are excellent, with a spacious dual-level garden and a welcoming indoor area. We've seen great improvements in his social and educational development. The staff encourage learning through play and support his language skills which has helped him pick up new words and build confidence. Overall, we're extremely happy with the care and support at Bright Horizons. It's been a wonderful experience for our son and we're grateful for the positive impact it's had on his development.
My daughter had a bit of a rocky start to life, due to acute reflux (she had several choking incidents) and my own poor health which meant she barely left the house in the first year of her life. She also had food aversions due to reflux and wouldn't tolerate anything except soup and had terrible separation anxiety. We were very hesitant about putting her in a nursery but chose Upper Brighton Road because I was immediately impressed by the staff on our first visit. Her key worker has gone above and beyond. She built trust with our daughter over the months so that she no longer cries at drop off and within a few months, my daughter is now eating a wide variety of textures and new tastes. I honestly never could have believed we would have such a big improvement which is a testament to her key worker's investment in helping my daughter overcome her early challenges. They also work with outside teams like her speech and language therapist to ensure everyone is on the same page. Cannot praise enough.
Wonderful nursery, staff and environment. Our daughter loves it and looks forward to going every day! Staff are helpful, attentive and kind. Lovely community spirit also and you really feel the warmth as soon as you walk in to drop off/collect every day. Highly recommend.
My older child was at this nursery from 1 year old to when he went to school. When thinking about nursery for our second child we didn’t want to immediately choose the same one as they are very different children and other nurseries had opened in the local area which are closer to our house. However, after viewing a number of local nurseries we did choose the same one and we are very glad we did. The outside space is amazing but the staff are also amazing. They really focus on the children, their well-being, learning and happiness. They really put the children at the heart of what they do. They create a welcoming, safe and fun environment with a huge amount of different daily activities for the children to take part in. I only have positive things to say about the nursery staff who we will be very sad to say goodbye to when the little one goes to school in 18 months time.
I went back to work last time when my baby was just seven months old. I was so nervous about returning to work, even for just two days a week and felt so guilty leaving the baby. The staff at Bright Horizons are so knowledgeable and experienced and so warm and welcoming that I was put at ease instantly. Since returning to work, I have never once worried or felt nervous about leaving my baby there. He is now nine months old and smiles every time he sees the red front door. The nursery plans many fun and engaging activities, way more than I could be doing at home! And my baby has become the most sociable, happy little boy. His crawling and motor skills have come on leaps and bounds since starting at Bright Horizons, and I am so grateful to the staff for nurturing such growth in him. When I take him to baby groups, and he is the first to crawl around and socialise with other babies, I always smile and say, “it’s because he goes to nursery!”.
We are very happy we chose this well-run nursery for our daughter. She has been there from 15 months to starting school this September. The staff who looked after her are kind, approachable and professional. They really care about the children. They did an excellent job in helping my daughter be ready for school and we are very grateful that she had such a positive experience. Also, the garden is fabulous. Cannot recommend enough!
As parents, we’re both delighted with Bright Horizons, Upper Brighton Rd - and more importantly so is our son, who is very happy attending, notable is the warmth and professionalism with which he is cared for by the staff in the baby room. Also, as I’m freelance and self employed, the option (staff rota permitting) for ad hoc extra childcare of a morning or afternoon is invaluable. Thank you to the manager and the team!
I cannot fault the fantastic team at Bright Horizons, Surbiton Day Nursery and Preschool. Always positive, fun and have fantastic new activities for the children. Brilliant team, great leader.
Wonderful nursery. The staff are all really engaged and caring and individually know each child. My son has been there since he was 9 months old and can’t wait to get there every morning. The grounds are very big for an urban location too. Low staff turnover as well which is good. Highly recommend.
We are so happy with our choice of sending our little one to Bright Horizons' Surbiton Day Nursery. All the staff are highly prepared and professional, as well as lovely and dedicated. They are open to answering any questions and discussing any needs your family has. Our child needed physiotherapy support, and they were prepared to help with the exercises prescribed by the specialist. Having no siblings, we have seen how much our child has learnt and developed new skills in the months since attending this nursery. We get updates every day through apps and pictures. Our little one adores the staff and goes there with a smile on their face every morning. Highly recommend it.
