View Full Details of Busy Bees London MottinghamBusy Bees London Mottingham was where my son attended, transitioning from the baby room to the toddler room and finally, to preschool. In the early days, the management was quite poor, with weak communication and a high staff turnover, which created a sense of instability. But when the new manager stepped in, there were clear improvements. She introduced small but significant changes, care levels increased, staff turnover dropped and communication with parents became much better. The nursery itself is great, with fantastic outdoor spaces and a wide range of activities for the children. My son especially loved the Spanish lessons in preschool and the rugby sessions. One thing the nursery could benefit from is a bit of a makeover. A fresh coat of paint and some modern renovations would brighten up the space. Ultimately, my son thrived at Busy Bees, I was really pleased with the positive changes and care he received under the new management.
My son has been here since April 2024 but attended previously in baby room (2022-2023). During this time, the centre designate took over as centre director, there have been noticeable, positive changes. Now in toddler room (soon to be preschool in September), my son absolutely loves nursery as they do a range of activities throughout the day to keep busy. My son's key worker is lovely and so are the rest of the girls. It's a joy to see my son get so excited when he sees the girls, he still has a smile on his face at pick-up. The level of care is good as you would hope when you leave your child at nursery. At pick-up, we always get feedback on what he has eaten and activities, including daily updates on the app. My son is on his pathway to ASD (autism spectrum disorder), the centre director has worked closely with us to ensure he has a plan to work towards. Looking forward to his continued development in preschool in September 2024.
The staff are very friendly, loving and affectionate. We chose this nursery for the care and attention they showed our child. Our child has a strong personal bond with her key worker and loves the bubbly staff. She always comes home smiling!
We just started but the staff have been very attentive to my son's needs. They have helped him integrate with other children.
The best nursery! My daughter is very happy. I can see her progress in everything: in English as we are from another country, in making friends with children, in communicating with adults, in learning rules. I am very glad I chose this nursery. PS The morning tea and snacks are time savers!
Good experience and my daughter loves it so much and she’s comfortable being there. Good, friendly staff, good service and management. I’m glad that I chose it for my daughter. I’m happy as my daughter is.
The staff are welcoming and friendly to both myself and my baby. They are very efficient and picked up on certain behaviours that my daughter was showing and put a plan in place quickly for her to work on it. The nursery is clean and tidy and I am very happy I put my daughter there.
My child has been attending BusyBees Mottingham since January 2023. I have found all of the staff to be very caring and professional. My son really seems to enjoy his time there. They also communicate clearly about how much he’s eaten, nap times and even on the odd occasion where he has fallen over, etc. For these reasons I trust them and feel at ease leaving my son in their care. I also like that they do lots of activities recognising various celebration days like Pride and Africa Day.
My son was transferred to Busy Bees from a different nursery in May 2023 and so far I’ve been really happy with his progress. He settled in quickly thanks to the staff members who have looked after him well enough to make him feel comfortable. I'm happy with the facilities and the fact that the rooms and floors are clean and well looked after. The outdoor space is great with lots of activities to do and my son is very excited whenever he is taken out in the garden. Staff members as well as senior members are friendly and they communicate well with parents.
A fantastic nursery. My daughter joined Busy Bees Mottingham in July 2023 when she was 14 months. Having been a bit apprehensive about starting nursery, I was very reassured by a thorough settling-in period that was arranged during the 2 weeks leading up to her first day. All of the staff are so friendly and caring. There is a good variety of toys and the children do lots of messy play, crafts and baking. The outdoor space is brilliant!
My children are very well looked after and always come back exceptionally happy.
Always feel our child is well taken care of and they really like the team.
My son has thrived at the nursery and made some good friends. The garden is very good and he loves playing outside. Management communicate well and there has been a visible change in the nursery since the new manager took over.
Due to moving out of the area, my son only attended Busy Bees London Mottingham for a few weeks but we have been so happy with the level of care provided for him and we are sorry he has to leave! The staff are always so friendly and reassuring (particularly as our son tends to be very unsettled in the mornings) and he always seems to have a fantastic day. Even in the short time he has been there, we have seen wonderful progress in his sleeping and eating habits during and outside of nursery and we really enjoyed getting the daily updates on the app for peace of mind. The space, both inside and out, is well set up and offers a variety of activities. Thank you to the lovely staff at Busy Bees!
I witnessed my 11-month-old son picking up toys from the floor that shoes were allowed and putting them in his mouth. In the garden, there were a lot of dry leaves that my son was putting in his mouth. I took them off his hands and stopped him from eating them but when I was filling in the forms the staff wouldn’t stop him. So he ended up eating a few leaves. The next day I spoke to the director. The reply I got was that we let babies explore. I said explore by eating dry leaves? she said yes we even bring leaves indoors and let them explore and play. I stayed in the parent's room where the director came and asked me why I was nervous but she dismissed me once again insisting that babies exploring is okay. 1.5 hrs later a staff member told me that my son was crying. I realized that he had diarrhoea and the staff did not check to change his nappy. I changed his nappy and noticed a red bump on his forehead that I was not told he had or what happened. I would not recommend this nursery.
Our child is so well looked after. The staff are brilliant and I am never in any doubt that he is in the best care possible. Management are communicative and it is clear that all those who work here work to ensure that the best support is given.
My son started going to nursery in February right after he turned 2 years old and went straight into the toddler room. I am very happy so far with the care this nursery is providing. The teachers are all lovely and always give me a review of how his day was when I go in to pick him up. He was able to settle very quickly and I am sure the amazing staff had a big part in this. The classrooms are spacious and nicely set up with different areas for different types of play and the garden is nicely done with loads of toys to play with.
My son started in the baby room Jan 2023 being thirteen months, nervous and sad to leave my baby which the staff knew, they have been and still are fantastic. We haven't had any issues at all with the nursery and can see the relationship already that my son has not only with his key person (who is amazing) but also the rest of the staff including the chef and nursery manager. We get a thorough handover at each pick-up and great to hear about the activities of what the children get up to. You can really see the staff care about the children and the attention to detail is what we want as a parent. They have also provided me with tips and tricks, main one to help my son settle at night time! There is an extensive menu for lunch and snacks. The outside space in the garden is massive and look forward to seeing more updates from them playing outside now the weather is better. In short, I would strongly recommend this nursery to anyone, especially, first timers or nervous parents.
I did not realise how bad this nursery was until we moved our child to another nursery. There is one staff member, the baby room manager, that I would like to call out for always being such a joy and who should not be associated with the negative review to follow. From not being allowed in, to not knowing the other children's names, to the sporadically changing hours - which you are not compensated for, it's hard to think of anything positive. However, what upsets me the most is that the staff was giving my 18-month-old child sweets, without my knowledge, in the early evening before pick up to "keep them happy." Additionally, you will often see the staff on smoke breaks outside 2 hours into their shift. And you will likely get calls to let you know that your child is the last child in the room. Sorry, it's 4 PM on a Friday and I'm in central London working. You will get norovirus every 6 weeks because things aren't cleaned properly. I could go on and on, but I'm out of characters.
After 11 months in the baby room, my son has just gone up to the toddler room and I wanted to say how fantastic the baby room has been. I was incredibly anxious, leaving my son, who was 11 months old when he started. As a lockdown baby, he had only ever been with us. The staff in the baby room were fantastic. You could just see how much they cared about him right from the start and I knew he was in safe hands. I always felt I could call just to see how he was doing. The staff never made me feel like I was taking up their time, even though they are very busy. Finally, I want to say how hard the staff work. I particularly remember my son's key worker coming in on her day off to finish a wall display for the children. Busy Bees are very lucky to have her and the other staff.
