View Full Details of Independent Place NurseryOur toddler has been at Independent Place Nursery since May 2024 and we couldn't be happier. The staff are so warm and caring and they do such amazing activities. They are super careful with her dietary needs and she is delighted she is to go in the morning and so excited if she sees any of the staff outside of nursery hours. I feel like they've had such a huge hand in her development and I am so grateful for the warmth and love they give all the children, I've seen staff literally spend the whole time I was there for an event cuddling an upset settling in the baby in the sweetest way, more than once. They put so much thought into activities and learning, and they listen so much to parents' requests and thoughts. I'll be sad when she goes to school. They also have access to a beautiful garden and the babies have their own lovely garden where they had fun in a paddling pool in the summer described to me as 'nappies and vibes' which I loved.
Our daughter attended Independent Place from age 10 months until she started school aged 4.5. The team is incredibly caring and thoughtful with the children and we always knew she was well looked after. The leadership is great and has been consistent the whole time we've been there. She made great friends at the nursery too which is down to the efforts the team makes to do a range of activities with the children. In addition, they have a great early years curriculum and she leaves the nursery with excellent phonics and maths knowledge and is definitely ready for school. We feel very lucky to have had her start at Independent Place and would not hesitate to recommend it.
My son went to Independent Place from approx. Aug 2023 - Aug 2024. He was looked after and guided, and his key workers really cared about him in the toddler room. I know the key workers all helped each other out, however, and all were very kind and engaged. They genuinely wanted to do a good job with the kids and were attached. I also noticed little things like he'd come home having learnt a sign (sign language), and learnt to indicate what song he'd like me to sing, and I credit them with helping him to walk, drink independently, and sit well-behaved at meals. We supported him at home, but I think the support and environment at the nursery really helped too. They engage in messy play/coordination activities, and have a little garden they make the most of (a real plus in London). Admin: We loved the weekly summaries, a wide range of themed activities, and blog posts so parents get insight into the activities, which some other nurseries don't do. We were sad to leave! Heartfelt thank you.
Very happy with my boy' 2 years at Independent Place Nursery. They have created an atmosphere that made him excited to go to nursery and have struck a good blend of free play and learning. I think they also helped him handle the transition to school very well!
My son joined the nursery 2 years ago, it was a big time in his life as we had moved house, moved nursery and given him a sibling in a short space of time. The staff at Independent Place were amazing at helping him to settle, he developed an amazingly close bond with his keyworker which helped him develop and transition with confidence from the toddler room to the preschool room. He thrived In their close and friendly atmosphere. Loving every day there and enjoying the outdoor space, creativity and extracurricular classes. Our youngest son is now in the toddler room and has the same initial key worker as our first and is loving his time there just as much.
Excellent nursery with amazing, dedicated, and creative teachers! Our daughter was at Independent Place for nearly four years. Positive experience from baby room to preschool. Visiting teachers and local trips enhanced learning. Communication was always great through the app, conversations at pickup, and parents' evenings.
Our son has been at Independent Place for 2 months and we are thrilled with how it’s going. His key worker and room leader are caring and fun. He smiles when we drop him off. The nursery also does a great job of creating new experiences for the little ones.
Staff are amazing and the activities they hold are brilliant, and my daughter settled well and had a great time at the nursery. Although I would say they could spend more time outdoors and they really need to sort out the pram park (it has been half built with no shelf to slide prams onto - very poorly designed for the space. However, my huge negative is that head office and management are a nightmare. We had to move our daughter out of the nursery after they made drastic changes to our booking pattern includes hours per day and days of the week - they wanted to up her days but couldn't give us any choice on the day so it became unfeasible for her to attend, we were given under 2 months notice of this, which I think is appalling when they know how long it can take to replace a child. They then promised a leaving party for my daughter which never happened, at the end we were made to feel like she was just a number and it was very un 'Child First' approach.
We have had a brilliant experience with Independent Place Nursery so far. Our daughter has been attending since November and it has made returning to work so much easier for me knowing that she is getting the very best in care and attention. The nursery put a lot of thought and effort into providing amazing sensory and development activities for the kids every day and they also have external visitors working with the children on things like phonics, movement and singing. The facilities are top-notch, as is the menu which is healthy and diverse. We receive regular updates via an app throughout the day and are often invited in to parents' evenings. The staff are fantastic - warm, very professional and work with our daughter on developmental aspects such as crawling and self-feeding.
Our son started in the baby room of Independent Place Nursery five months ago and we couldn't be happier. He absolutely loves going to nursery, the staff are extremely nice and always go the extra mile to come up with fun and educational activities for the babies. They also have external people coming in every week for certain activities including yoga, music etc.
Our daughter has attended the baby room of Independent Place Nursery since 1st November 2022. I cannot speak highly enough of this nursery - the work they do with the children, the experience we've had as parents. It is clear that our daughter loves to attend each day for the play and learning activities provided. We love to see pictures of those activities shared on the app and they have had a fantastic impact on our daughter's development - motor skills, mobility, her curiousness and engagement with the world. Independent Place go above and beyond with study themes, parent days and other events, take-home items that even the babies have produced from their activities. The meal schedule is balanced and varied and has really helped our daughter onto solids. Key workers and every member of staff at Independent Place have been wonderful to deal with - friendly and invested in our daughter and her outcomes.
Lovely nursery - staff are super attentive and our little boy loves it. Great outside space and lots of activities. Started when our boy was 20 months old, we've been there four months so far. The app is great to know how our boy's day is going.
We heard about Independent Place Nursery through our neighbours and it was the first and only nursery we visited. We couldn't be happier with the team, who at this point feel like family. The amazing activities and attention they give to our child have directly enhanced her development. Highly recommend a visit!
My daughter attended Independent Place Nursery for a year, from ages 1-2. We absolutely loved it and are so sad she's had to leave due to us moving out of London. The staff are wonderful - knowledgeable, calm, friendly, warm, caring - everything you could possibly want. The nursery itself is brilliant, lovely big rooms with lots of light and easy access to outdoor space. As it's in a gated development it's away from the main road and feels very safe and secure. My daughter did so many activities I knew we wouldn't be able to do at home, she made great friends there and learnt so much. We would have happily sent her here until school. It's been difficult finding a new nursery that lives up to Independent Place, we were extremely lucky that it happened to be our closest one when we lived in London.
Our daughter attended Independent Place Nursery in Dalston from the age of 1 - 2, during which time she learned to walk and talk. She absolutely thrived there. She loved the adults who worked with her and had some great little friends her age. It was clear how much the adults cared about her as well.
This is a fantastic nursery where the staff and management go to every length to create a welcoming, inclusive and educational atmosphere for the children. My daughter has various learning difficulties, and the manager and her staff have gone out of their way to put a support plan in place for her and to ensure there are ample opportunities for her to develop and grow with her peers. I can not recommend Independent Place highly enough!
My daughter joined when she was 6 months old. The baby room teachers have been so sweet to her, especially as she is the littlest baby in the nursery. My baby is always happy to join the teachers at the start of the day, which is saying a lot since she can get fussy when I put her down. They always have sensory activities for the babies and great activities.
Our son has been attending the nursery for the past 6 months and he absolutely loves it there! The staff were amazing during his settling in period, making sure he gets all the support he needs and personalised the process to fit to whatever was best for him. He has started attending the toddler room at the age of 19 months and is now moving on to the preschool room. The food is wonderful and made on the premises, nursery takes into account parent suggestions as well and changes the menu seasonally. The staff are all incredibly friendly and create brilliant activities for the kids to keep them engaged and ensure development as well as fun. The manager is very caring. The garden isn't massive but they have really ensured it is packed with engaging activities, by far one of the best in Hackney. The nursery is also away from main roads, inside a gated community so there isn't very much traffic around which is great and safe. Could not recommend this nursery more, if it's within your budget.
Our daughter settled in very quickly at Independent Place Nursery. She loves her key workers and the messy play, that they let her do on a daily basis. We as the parents have the impression that the staff know the kids extremely well and they pay a lot of attention to every single child. We chose this nursery also because of its beautiful little garden, something not many nurseries offer.
The staff at independent place are so friendly and caring. They prepare all sorts of amazing activities, which our daughter really enjoys and food she happily eats. Our daughter has a great time there.
