View Full Details of Little Acorns Day NurseryMy daughter started at Little Acorns in the pre-school room, and from day one she has absolutely loved it. The staff are wonderful, she learns so much and speaks excitedly about what she's done there each day and about her friends and teachers. They are very creative in the activities they do and they follow her interests as well as introducing her to new things. Her keyworker and all of the team there are brilliant and communicate really well how things are going, with a daily update, and I can tell they really think about and care about the development and wellbeing of the children, from the things they have done and said. They have a great outdoor space, including chickens! I couldn't recommend more highly.
We are so happy with Little Acorns, the staff and manager are so caring and have been really helpful, we really feel they’ve gone above and beyond to meet our child’s needs. It’s a wonderful environment and we’ve felt very supported as a family since our daughter started there.
Our daughter has loved her time at Little Acorns Day Nursery and we feel very lucky to have had her cared for there. She has progressed through all of the different age rooms and formed really strong bonds with staff in each of them. It was incredible to see how they coped with the pandemic and a testament to how well managed the nursery is. The facilities are great and our daughter regularly tells us about things she has eaten there which we would struggle to feed her at home. Communication is great with handovers at the end of each day. Even after we moved farther away we continued to send our daughter here, we love Little Acorns that much.
Lovely caring staff. Every day updates what my child has been up to. They try hard to make sure your child eats, try different tactics. Same when child is naughty, they keep you posted and try different tactics to teach your child. The staff, as well as manager, know all the kids by name. The groups are not too big. They are teaching as preparation for school. They are really nice people. My child was interested in a certain topic and they created a corner with that topic with posters and books. They also encourage kids to be independent.
Our four-year-old has been at Little Acorns since she was fifteen months. We moved her from a childminder who couldn’t get her to nap. The staff at Little Acorns got her to sleep on the first day and looking back I’m not surprised. The carers are kind and confident and create a warm home-from-home environment. I don’t hesitate to recommend Little Acorns.
Both our children went to Little Acorns and had a fantastic experience (our youngest still goes there). All the carers build genuine bonds with our children, it’s like a second home to them. My eldest frequently complains that he wants to go back (he’s year 1 at junior school now!) Seems like lots of activities, kids always coming back with art and craft stuff, and they have trainers come in to do sports and exercise sessions. Plus there’s forest school. Food is well balanced, our kids tend to eat far wider variety of things at nursery than they do at home (fussy and moany at home). When we’ve had issues with potty training and behaviour, they’ve sat and brainstormed ideas with us, then assisted with any action plans we decide upon. Extremely supportive, not sure what we would do without them!
We find this nursery to be outstanding. All the staff we’ve met have been incredibly helpful, attentive to details, supportive and responsive to whatever we wanted for our daughter, happy to give feedback and suggestions. It’s obvious they work hard to give the very best possible care for all the children. We’ve seen our daughter progress leaps and bounds (literally) as she’s attended Little Acorns. The different imaginative play, equipment, classes, outside time and fresh food are all outstanding— she loves to attend nursery. We have felt supported through nap progression and potty training— we think the staff helped immensely with both. So impressed and grateful the staff also, somehow, successfully managed to keep everything going throughout the pandemic! Hats off! Would highly recommend.
This is a fantastic nursery with caring, supportive staff, a wonderful manager and a lovely fun environment for the children. Brilliant outdoor space too. All three of our kids have been through it and loved their time there, made great friends and grew very attached to their wonderful teachers. We’ll be sad not to be regular visitors once our youngest starts school this year! Highly recommended.
Little Acorns is a special place, it is a home from home experience. As an educator and mother I knew exactly what I wanted for my child, but have been blown away by the pastoral care and commitment to support his development and social needs. Little Acorns staff are welcoming, friendly and practice what they preach, in fact they’ve supported me in being a better parent- by sharing ways to resolve/ support some of my sons particular needs. Staff work beyond hard, in a pandemic they were irreplaceable and the children were so happy and lucky to have such fun filled days, where interactions and friendship have blossomed. For me it’s down to the exceptional manager, no ask is too great, her truthfulness, practical nature and diligence runs through her team members. My son doesn’t want to come home! The appearance of a large house, echoes the place being a home with a wonderful garden with apple tree, trampolines, and chickens. It’s definitely a space I’d like to spend my time!
Such a great nursery, my daughter has never hesitated going in and loved every moment. She’s so happy there which speaks volumes. The staff are lovely, they make the children feel very special and they all know the children very well. I’d highly recommend it.
We love Little Acorns! Both of our children have been cared for by the wonderful staff. They have a great variety of activities to stimulate learning and bring nature to the kids through giant rabbits, fish tanks and visits to the local forest school. It was recommended to us by neighbours who had sent both their children there many years ago and it's reputation continues to grow.
Our son has attended Little Acorns for a year now. We fell in love with the nursery at the first viewing. The staff are attentive, professional, supportive and great with their daily communication. The staff are great at promoting independence too. The facilities at the nursery are wonderful. The outdoor space is excellent and all the children get to spend time outside exploring and playing. We love Little Acorns and would highly recommend it to any prospective parents.
My daughter loves her time at Little Acorns, the staff are fantastic and there is a fabulous outdoor area, as well as lots of activities that keep her entertained. She’s always very happy and excited to go.
Little Acorns is a warm and safe place for our daughter to grow and thrive. She has been going since she was one and she is now three. All through her time there, the staff have been wonderful, supporting her development and creating a fun and dynamic place that we are happy to send her to. They have been absolute troopers throughout the pandemic. They have never had to shut due to covid (apart from national lockdowns) and that is quite amazing. They also are great with our daughter’s vegan diet, and really listen to us about her needs. We always have a chat at the end of each day to find out how she’s been doing, and I just really appreciate the care they take in everything they do. It is also reasonably priced compared to others and has provision for the free 30 hours which not all nurseries do. Absolutely invaluable!
From the moment I looked around the nursery, I knew I wanted my daughter to attend. Since she has been at the nursery it hasn't disappointed me! All of the staff are so friendly and caring and know all of the children really well. My daughter absolutely loves attending the nursery and actually cries when we pick her up and she has to leave!
We enrolled our son into Little Acorns in the summer of 2020. From day one they have provided exceptional pastoral support. It is clear that they care about the individual needs of all the children that attend, and this is clear when observing the daily updates provided to each parent as they pick their son or daughter up. For our own son, the transition to an early years setting has been tough. He has quite particular learning needs, and in his first year, both his key worker and the SENCO went above and beyond to make sure he was both progressing and happy, even attending specific CPD training to further their skills when working with his specific needs. The level of insight they have provided in observational material and informal feedback has been spot on. It shows attentional to detail and understanding and has always been communicated in a way that is empathetic of the feelings of parents that are emotionally invested in the lives of their children.
Really lovely staff, amazing outdoor space (with pets!) and enthusiastic attitude to learning through fun activities. Offer a full range of extracurricular activities (forest school, dance/drama, Spanish) and have coped brilliantly with Covid restrictions. Couldn’t recommend them more!
My kids have attended three nurseries now, but this one is a keeper! I love it. The staff and manager go above and beyond to make the experience wonderful, varied and interesting for the kids. As well as all the usual activities you'd expect, they have different professionals come in every day of the week to teach the children things like yoga, Spanish and drama. They also take them to forest school and organise lovely trips too. It's really reasonably priced, I recommend it to everyone looking for preschool childcare.
My son is very happy at this nursery. All the staff are so kind and the atmosphere is really supportive. They have weekly activities, even for the little ones, and take them on trips and the meals are amazing. The building is beautiful and the garden is big with great facilities and pets. I’d happily recommend this nursery to anyone.
