My daughter has been coming to Purbrook Day Nursery since April and as a family, we love it. We've always felt like we're dropping her with family members and really feel like the staff values nurture and cares over everything. Plus my daughter always comes home tired and grubby- which we consider signs of a great day! So thank you Helen and Team you are fab.
Our little ones have both been attending this nursery for around 3 months now, one in Toddlers and one in the Baby Snug. This was the second nursery that we visited but really felt from one open day that this was the setting that we wanted our children to attend. They have both flourished since starting and have created lovely bonds with the staff which have been so nice to witness, particularly their keyworkers. Our little ones are always really happy to be going to nursery and my toddler enjoys telling us all about what she gets up to and who she plays with. The staff seem to be really friendly and caring which helps me feel comfortable with leaving them there. We recently attended the Christmas Fayre and were amazed at the amount of activities that there were for the children to do. Although we were very sad to miss out on the Christmas dinner. We're very happy with the choice that we made to send our babies to this nursery.
Our Son has been at the nursery since he was 11 months old and he is now 3. Our daughter also attended the pre-school before she started school. The staff continue to be attentive, caring and always paying very close attention to the children's needs. Our Son enjoys going in and there is a range of varied activities each day. He is also very keen on the meals and apparently regularly asks for seconds. The staff clearly build strong relationships with the children and they enjoy working there. It is lovely to see the bond our son has with his key worker. This year the Christmas fayre was brilliant with lots of festive activities, Santa's Grotto and even 2 real donkeys. We are very much looking forward to the Christmas singalong at the church and can't wait to see what 2025 brings.
I have 2 boys at the nursery one preschool and one baby room. I cannot praise them highly enough. Baby room always give a great hand over and let us know what they have done in the day as well as how they have eaten, how they have slept. Preschool is just as good and my son has a hard time with food and is struggling with textures etc. The staff have created a food diary to help us know what he has eaten and how much each day so we can keep him on his growth track. Fantastic environment that I fully believe has encouraged and help to grow my children.
My son has been with Purbrook Nursery for just under 2 years, having moved from another local Nursery. His transition was seamless and he settled very well into the setting. The staff have always been so friendly, hard-working and caring. My son has a list of allergies which are challenging to navigate, the staff at the Nursery have been excellent in managing this, keeping our son safe and putting my wife and my minds at rest knowing that he was safe. The setting is well-resourced and our son has always really developed in all aspects from attending this nursery.
The Baby Snug team are amazing! My daughter was a bit shy at first when starting but I have seen her come on so much and grow and learn and that's all thanks to her key worker and the team! I feel so comfortable sending my daughter and I can say she thoroughly enjoys it and I love hearing all the activities she has been up to when she is collected! Also when I hear what she has had to eat throughout the day it makes me very jealous as it sounds so amazing and nutritional. Nothing is ever too much and they do really care about the children!
The nursery has been amazing for our 2 daughters. Both our toddler and our baby love attending and always look forward to their days at nursery! We have been very fortunate to have amazing key workers throughout the girl's time at the nursery. The lady in the baby room really helped us through a tricky transition time with our eldest when our younger daughter was born and was a great, calming person for her. The teacher in the toddler room has also been amazing at bringing out her confidence as has another teacher in particular.
My children spent a total of 4 years at this nursery and we couldn't be happier with the care and attention they received. The staff are incredibly kind, warm, supportive and professional, and the activities helped our kids grow and thrive. Communication with parents was very clear and we felt supported throughout their time there. We always felt confident in the care provided and would highly recommend this nursery to any family!
From the moment we came for a show around the team accepted us and our daughter as family, making us feel very welcome. Our daughter's development is excelling under the team, and it's very clear that we have chosen the correct nursery for our daughter. I would recommend this nursery to anyone.
My daughter started in the term after she turned 3 and was there for a full year before starting school. We only went to view one nursery and knew it felt right. We liked the quirky building with all the creative spaces and outdoor places are great and always being tweaked and improved. My daughter spent most of her time out at the mud kitchen in all weathers! The food always sounded very appetising and they made roast dinner samples at their Christmas open day, delish! She had 2 keyworkers during her time and they were always knowledgeable about her progress and suggesting ways for us to help her if she needed. We want to register our second child here so that she can enjoy the same care, learning and fun!
When we first took our baby girl for her settling-in sessions in June 2023, she was still so little she couldn't sit up on her own. From those early days through to now - it's just incredible how much love and support has been poured into my little lady during the hours spent at nursery in the baby snug. She's a people-oriented, cuddly and funny little girl so it makes all the difference that the staff invest time in those personal connections to help her grow and support her learning. Three staff members in particular are the best, they really care and are always excited to tell me the fun and hilarious things they've all been doing during the day. Nursery has been one of the most enriching things in my child's life - she does things, says things and plays in ways I know she wouldn't yet understand without it - from yoga, baking, and nursery rhymes to painting, spending time outside and having a good old boogie to music; she loves it and so do I.
My daughter started in the baby snug in June 2023. The nursery offered as many settle-in sessions as needed before her official start date which was a huge relief as my daughter was having a hard time leaving my side at the time. She very quickly absolutely loved going to nursery and is excited about it every day. She's built a great relationship with all of the staff, especially her keyworker. They are all so lovely and provide great handovers at the end of the day. You can tell they really care about the children. She's really come out of her shell since starting and is developing so wonderfully! It's a huge relief to know she's safe and is having a great time at nursery. I love that they often go out to the library or park so they get out into the world. They also spend as much time as possible outside which my daughter loves. Overall very happy with the nursery so far!
Our daughter has been attending this nursery since she was 10 months old and I can honestly say she has loved every single second of it. She will happily go in each morning and I can always tell she’s had a fabulous day when I pick her up in the afternoon. The staff are incredible with her, she’s come on so well developmentally and I love that she loves going there. I was initially so worried about her being away from me but the staff put my mind at ease and I always get lovely updates to see what she’s up to. Wouldn’t want to send her anywhere else.
I have one child in the baby snug. Settled very quickly and has an amazing bond with his key person and the other practitioners. They all know him incredibly well, are able to meet all his wants and needs and his development has come on leaps and bounds since. They provide engaging and stimulating activities and link them to the children's current interests. My son particularly loved character week. He enjoys the garden, going for walks, the library the song and dance group that came to the setting. My older child is in the preschool room. Has an amazing relationship with his key person and the other practitioners. Also settled very quickly and I put this down to the staff getting to know him and building strong bonds. He has developed many skills and this is due to the activities and engagement that the nursery provide. He enjoys participating in the groups that the nursery provide, cooking club, gardening club, nature club as well as going into the community and the library.
Our Son is happy at the nursery, this is down to the staff there and the level of care that they provide, they are always welcoming upon arrival and take care of him if he happens to be emotional when arriving. The staff are well presented and polite when interacting and the information given at handover is detailed enough that we have a good idea of how his day has been. The updates we receive throughout the day are a great insight into what he's been up to, we can see the photos of him interacting well with others as well as independently, and it is great to see that he is encouraged to take part in play and activities which greatly supports his development and growth. In summary, we are very happy with the nursery and the care provided for our son, thank you to all the team for your hard work and caring, it really makes a difference.
Purbrook Day Nursery is simply fantastic! I had to put my very young daughter into nursery earlier than I would have liked due to financial situations. She started in December 2023, at 7 months old. I was absolutely terrified of leaving her, but I didn’t need to worry. The wonderful girls in the baby snug put my mind at ease instantly, we had several settle sessions leading up to her start date to make sure she was happy and settled. My daughter is always so happy coming home. I get constant updates on how she is doing and always a great handover. I’ve never felt more at ease with people looking after my child. She has a great routine there, and the level of care and attention she receives is wonderful. A special thank you to her key worker, she looks after my daughter like she’s her own!
Such a wonderful nursery. The level of care is second to none, the activities are well thought out, interesting, and most importantly, fun! The outside space is brilliant, with climbing frames, mud kitchens and sand and water. The team are so caring, and the manager is amazing - so knowledgeable and has been there a long time. I highly recommend this nursery.
My son has been attending the baby snug since May 2023, and absolutely loves it! His key worker is amazing. She shows so much kindness and patience, it’s so lovely to see. My son runs in at drop-off and comes home just as happy. His development over the past 12 months is incredible and I have no doubt that this is due to the positive effect of everyone in the baby snug. We feel so lucky to have found such a wonderful nursery and even more lucky to have my son's key worker as his key worker.
A horrendous nursery. My son was attending this nursery until he suffered a serious injury under their care. There was no finger guard attached to the main door of the baby room and my son's thumb got caught on the hinges of the door as the door was closing during pick-up time. When I arrived to pick him up, he was screaming in pain. I took him to the hospital to assess the injury. After a few hours at the hospital and an x-ray; the doctors confirmed it was broken and needed to be seen by a plastic specialist. After assessment from the specialist, surgery was required. Whilst at the hospital, the manager of the nursery left a voicemail to say it was an accident and no action was needed, until I called her to confirm it was broken her tone changed to hesitation and was very eager to meet me. During my meeting, she admitted there was no finger guard in place, there were 4 carers present and 6 children, legally a carer can look after up to 4 children each. I decided to take my son out of this nursery immediately.
