View Full Details of Sherfield Early Years CentreThe facilities and grounds of this nursery are just incredible. I love how the children spend so much time outside and the variety of activities they are exposed to is brilliant. The way they structure the nursery and align the age splits prepares the children well for starting school and means they are so familiar with the wider school grounds such as the playground, the dining room etc. That it is not a big deal when they start school and the transition will be so much easier. My son loves that he can interact with the older children and is thriving. I also love how they get the children involved in cooking and the sessions with the head chef are creating a real love and understanding of food and nutrition.
Brilliant all around, our daughter loves it at Sherfield and continues to make huge progress! We're very impressed with the staff, facilities, activities and inclusivity (i.e. providing Halal meals). The fact it's also part of Sherfield School is a big plus! We're really pleased we decided to send our daughter to SEYC.
Our little one is loving the Butterflies Room. We are happy with how things are progressing, especially since we now receive daily updates/pictures of what our daughter is doing, which in the past were not that often.
My daughter looks forward to nursery each day! The room offers her such a wonderful mix of fun, learning and new experiences managed by caring and engaged staff. She has developed so much in such a short time. Would certainly recommend it.
The nursery is set in very nice school grounds and the children get to explore and play in these areas, the staff are always friendly and kind. The food is great and I'm kept up to date with my son's activities with the app. My son loves going to nursery and sometimes it's a struggle to get him to come home!
Excellent staff, really caring and my little boy loves it! There is a range of activities every day and the app keeps me updated on his progress each day. I get a comprehensive summary of his stay from the key worker.
Highly recommend - our son loves going to nursery and he loves seeing everyone. He has grown up so much and learnt so many new things with all the activities that the staff do with him and we love being able to see what they have done throughout the day. Thank you all.
My child has loved being at Sherfield Nursery. We are kept up to date with the activities through the app which is a great addition. The fact that you can also call up at any time was really helpful for us. The ratio of staff to children is excellent and there are never more than nine or ten children in each room. The staff are incredibly loving and the food is excellent. The school grounds are beautiful and it’s great that my daughter gets to go out most days. One of my highlights has been the Head Chef for the school spending the afternoon teaching the nursery children how to cook pizzas. My child has made huge personal developments and I truly believe it’s down to the nursery.
I cannot fault this nursery, my child is happy to go into nursery every day this is a credit to the staff. The facilities allow him to learn whilst playing and the outdoor space is amazing. The progress I have seen in such a short time in development is pleasing.
Excellent value for money and very dedicated staff. The facilities are very good and are always updated and adapted to give children the best experience. Our child has progressed enormously at this nursery.
My daughter loves Sherfield and all the teachers. She is excited to tell me about her day and all the different activities she takes part in. Each member of staff is very friendly and caring and shares information about how my daughter's day has been at the end of the day. The app is updated regularly with pictures. There are excellent facilities and grounds for the children to enjoy. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend Sherfield Nursery.
The most amazing setting with fantastic staff and amazing care! If I could give it 1000 stars, I would. Both my children have gone through this nursery, and it was very sad to see them leave. It truly is a great nursery!
This nursery combines excellent facilities (good outdoor area, regular walks around the lake on the grounds, etc) with a focus on physical well-being (such as baby yoga, developing skills on teeth brushing) and a strong academic ethos (learning languages from age 2). My son thrives here, is happy, and I feel safe knowing the environment he is in.
Think it's an amazing nursery - fantastic space, setting and, most importantly, staff! The little ones are well looked after, and as a parent, I feel updated and informed. They have lots of choices of clean toys, soft play and fun activities.
Our son attended from Sept 21 to June 22. He is now much happier and has settled into his new nursery in only a couple of days. His new nursery are amazing and are a home away from home. The amount of children in each room is much higher at Sherfield. We had quite a lot of issues with being told different things about what he had eaten during the day - he has food allergies so this was extremely important for us to know. He got bitten more than a few times by another child. Once they didn’t even realise and just thought that he’d been hit by another child but when we got him home he had teeth marks on his arm. He had an accident at nursery and banged his head but we weren’t informed until the following day. The children also don’t have free access to water so he would be extremely thirsty a lot and have constipation. If he made a card the staff would just write “from …” inside, it seemed like it was too much effort for them to add anything further. We would not recommend, lots of unhappy parents.
Great experience of nursery so far for my little one, despite an emotional start. Staff are great, activities are varied, and management is really open to suggestions/feedback and making improvements. Joining communication could be better up front.
All the staff are friendly and communicative, giving a good description of the child's day and activities. The rooms available are clean and safe, and they provide a good range of things for the children to interact with. The outdoor area is secure and shaded for the children to enjoy.
Overall, I'm happy with the service provided and the way the nursery has adapted to our requests as parents. I would like more ability to walk into the nursery, which is probably how things were pre-Covid. I would like the nursery to help with Government child hours; it's disappointing they don't offer this - we still plan to keep our child here for pre-school and private school, but some extra help wouldn't go a miss.
My child is very happy at the nursery. The carers are great with the children. The nursery offer sessions for parents to attend, which is great for seeing how your child plays at the nursery. Only negative for me is the ad-hoc changes made for drop-off location.
The nursery has an excellent outdoor area and access to their private school facilities. We have been very satisfied with the care they provided and opening hours. The only downside is that they do not accept government funding for the 15/30 hours for the 2-3-year-olds.
