View Full Details of Grasshoppers Day Nursery (St Albans)We couldn't be happier with the care our daughter receives at Grasshoppers! The staff in the preschool room are extremely caring and friendly. They greet us every day with a smile and their overall professionalism is fantastic. The manager, alongside other members of the admin team, communicates messages very well and in a timely manner. The speed at which they respond to emails/queries is great. Our daughter loves telling us about the varied activities she does and how much fun she has there. Thank you to everyone at Grasshoppers for all that you do! I would highly recommend this nursery to any parent.
We've been very happy with Grasshoppers Day Nursery. One thing that has stood out for me was the careful integration of my son with a slow and gradual settling-in period, which I felt was generous and had my son's interests and well-being at heart. The building and facilities one nice and the staff always seem to be professional. I also like the range of activities that he does there. It is quite expensive though, as the 15 hours universal childcare cannot be used on one day which was the case at our previous nursery. Also, there is limited availability to increase days but that is due to the high quality of service I imagine.
The nursery has exceeded expectations. Communication with the parents is brilliant and development activities with the children are great.
We are happy with Grasshoppers! Our daughter has been here for almost a year and has been doing really well. Staff are friendly and provide excellent care and feedback. Keep up the good work!
A fantastic, caring and nurturing environment for my child. I can't fault you!
Grasshoppers has been great for our son. They have always been great at communicating with us, and regularly provide updates to reassure us. Our son has flourished in their care, and we've always felt very confident that they really look after him. Highly recommend to any parent.
Grasshoppers Day Nursery is lovely, my daughter settled in so well with the help of fantastic staff. All the staff seem so engaged with the children. Thank you very much for all the care and support.
After my child experienced a broken bone out of nursery the staff were extremely compliant with the care advice given by doctors. They ensured extra safety precautions were taken but still allowed a normal nursery experience for him. They were very cautious. My son always enjoys entering nursery, easily waving goodbye to me at the door. He thoroughly enjoys his meal times and socialising with his friends which has furthered his independence.
My daughter took a while to settle into her part-time nursery schedule, but the patience and perseverance of the caterpillar's staff and her lovely key person made her transition as smooth as possible. And she absolutely loves it now - she can’t get over the gate quick enough! It isn’t our closest nursery, but we had several recommendations from other parents and after doing a tour whilst pregnant, we knew it was the right fit for our family. All of the staff are very friendly and welcoming, it’s a homely but secure setting, we get regular photos and updates about her day and it’s very reassuring to know that she’s eating nutritious meals (things she would totally refuse to eat at home!).
We moved our toddler to Grasshoppers as we were unhappy with his previous nursery and the difference in our child since he moved is incredible. Cannot recommend Grasshoppers enough, fantastic staff who plan thoughtful activities and great communication - we love it here and so does our son!
Really happy with my child's nursery experience. The team are always willing to go the extra mile to keep you up to date and answer questions, and my child's key worker really took the time to get to know and understand her, which is so lovely. The location and facilities are great. I'd love to see more farm-to-fork initiatives, but understand the issues with not having a kitchen, etc.
We honestly couldn’t be happier with choosing Grasshoppers as our daughter’s nursery. She has been with them for a year now and has learnt so much and her confidence has really grown too! The staff are absolutely fabulous and they come up with new fun things for the children to do every day. Our daughter absolutely loves it! Thank you everyone at Grasshoppers!
Our son has been attending Grasshoppers since he was almost 10 months old, he has thrived in the setting. Staff are very approachable and demonstrate individualised care for the children. Children participate in a range of activities designed to support their development, this is done through both structured and unstructured play. They support the development of independence skills through things such as children getting their own placemats, serving themselves breakfast and clearing up afterwards. The premises are clean and well-presented.
Our son has attended Grasshoppers for over a year and in that time we have had a wonderful experience. The entire team are dedicated and works well together to deliver excellence. They always take time to provide feedback at the end of each day. Our son is really happy there and we have no hesitation in recommending the nursery to others.
Absolutely fantastic nursery, staff go above and beyond, communication has been excellent and we get regular updates on the app, with pictures and learning stories throughout the week. They are constantly looking at ways to improve and having just gone in today my daughter noticed the room had been moved around. Activities are well thought out and my daughters enjoyed the visit from the fire engine recently. I would highly recommend this nursery.
Our daughter has attended Grasshoppers Day Nursery since September 2022, beginning in Caterpillars before moving up to Bumblebees, and she absolutely loves it. It’s great to see her going in with a smile on her face in the morning, and seeing her so happy and settled when collecting her at the end of the day. The facilities for the children are brilliant, including lots of opportunities to spend time outdoors in the garden which we know our daughter really enjoys. We have been very impressed with all aspects of the nursery’s care and communication, it’s great to get regular updates via the app and e-newsletter. The team always take the time to tell us about our daughter’s day and answer any questions we may have. Parents are kept informed about the week’s learning activities and given the chance to get involved with them from home. One of the most important things about the nursery, for us, is the very caring and loving atmosphere that the staff have created for the children.
Our daughter has been attending the Grasshoppers Day Nursery (St Albans) since November 2022 and our experience has been extremely positive. Settling was made easy thanks to the amazing, caring staff in the Bumblebees room and I cannot thank them enough. They took the time to learn about my child’s preferences, routines and even some words in Portuguese (our second language) to better understand and communicate with her. They go above and beyond every day and as parents, we feel we couldn’t have chosen a better nursery for our child. The facilities are spacious, clean, bright and well-maintained. The space outside is huge and there are loads of activities. The curriculum is well-designed, creative, age-appropriate and stimulating - I love seeing the pictures of my daughter playing and learning in the app. Also, the staff is always available to answer my questions and keep me informed about my child’s progress and new learnings. I highly recommend the St Albans Grasshoppers Nursery to any parents.
Cannot speak highly enough of the St. Albans Grasshoppers team. Our daughter transferred from playschool around five months ago and we were admittedly nervous that she would be unsettled, but the staff at playschool have made the transition so easy and she's very quickly developed loving relationships with all of them. We're grateful to all of the staff and, in particular, those who look after our daughter daily in the bumblebees room. They're fantastic and she always has a lot (for a two-year-old) to say about all of them in the evenings.
I have a child who is two years and nine months, she is in the preschool room, and the staff are all welcoming in the morning, and I know she will be happy when leaving her, even if she gets upset as I leave, they will contact me to let me know that she has calmed down. She is always happy at the end of the day when I pick her up and will tell me about the things that she had done.
All 3 of our children have now attended Grasshoppers; while one recently graduated from pre-school to join her sister at school, the last one has started in the baby room. Each of them has thrived in this setting. Close friendships have been made; they've loved attending; in particular, the renovated garden has been a big hit. Over the years, staff have been very accommodating with our needs and we highly recommend them. You're always greeted with a smile, the team are caring and friendly, plus, there are significantly clear structures/policies in place including their communications with parents.
