View Full Details of Pennies Day Nursery - Mark CrossWe absolutely love Pennies! Our Son has so much fun there. The nursery rooms are lovely and accommodating, the staff are fantastic, and we feel very lucky knowing he is in such good hands. Thank you so much to the team!
My daughter goes there since she was very little, only months old(now she is 2.5). At that point she refused to go with anyone apart from me or my husband, but since the first minute we put our feet here she felt very much confortable and confident. She went with the staff without doubting, and we could see straight away that it was the right place. The management there is another level of support, always willing to help and accommodate your needs. All the members of staff are amazing, supporting every step my daughter does in a very personal way, they are great! And the last, but not least! , the chef! Her food is really tasty. We manage to try her dishes in the open days and I can see why my daughter loves them! The space outside is absolutely gorgeous, cannot wait for the spring to come so she can be out for longer. I would 100% recommend this Nursery to anyone looking for a clean, well managed and a great place to take their little ones to.
My daughter started at pennies in January when she was 20 months old. I am over the moon with the nursery Not once has my daughter cried when being dropped off and she is always happily playing when I pick her up. She asks to go to nursery every morning which is so lovely to know she loves it as it puts my mind at ease while at work. I was worried how she would eat and sleep there but she does better than she does at home! Everyone is so welcoming and they all know my daughter very well already and I can tell she feels comfortable with them. They keep me updated via the app and at the end of each day and they get up to lots of fun stuff in the day. I love how much they are outside as my daughter loves that.
5 stars! We have been so impressed with Pennies since our children joined in September 2023 and like other reviewers can not fault it in any way. Our children are so excited to go in and are warmly welcomed each morning by the amazing staff. They are all so enthusiastic, happy, and friendly, and have a smile on their faces from 7.30 am to 6.30 pm! The nursery manager and deputy manager are so approachable and don't get the credit they deserve. The Nursery is so nurturing, has amazing outdoor spaces, and there are exciting activities outside and in to try each day. The menus are fun and healthy and our children usually have seconds of the fabulous home-cooked meals. The communication is second to none with daily updates and photos. Thank you you are all great!
Our daughter loves attending pennies! She is always happy. All the staff are friendly, and helpful and make you feel very at ease and welcome. Especially if it's your first child attending a nursery and you've never been through this experience. All the staff are at hand to help you with questions and queries. The communication with updates about both the nursery and about your child daily is also detailed and issued in a timely manner.
We cannot fault Pennies at all, and are sad we're now at the end of our time there, with our son having started 9 years ago, and our daughter having just left to start school, both having started at 9 months old and absolutely thrived there. You will struggle to find a more nurturing and welcoming environment in which the children are encouraged to be themselves, have fun, and develop their independence. The staff genuinely care about the children and form such good bonds which helps their development, and every child is treated as an individual. They set up daily activities which enable learning, but the children are encouraged to lead the activities in a direction which holds their interest. The outside space is great and they do a lot of free-flow play between inside and outside in all weathers, be prepared for mucky children at the end of the day! I highly recommend Pennies to everyone, book a show round and you won't be disappointed.
My daughter is in the Sunflowers room at Mark Cross. She has been with the nursery since she was ten months and she has simply thrived. The staff are so supportive and I couldn’t fault them. I was a very nervous first-time mother, and they made me feel like my daughter was in completely safe hands and I still feel that way! They get up to such fun/varied activities every day and she has made some great friends. I recommend Pennies to everyone! We will be sad to leave in September when my daughter starts school.
My daughter attended Sunflowers from October 2022 to September 2023, she is now in school and thriving, the nursery and the staff were wonderful in accommodating my daughter after we relocated back to the area. I would definitely recommend it.
My one-year-old daughter started nursery on 01/10/2023 after spending her entire first year with me. She initially took time to adapt struggling with food, sleep, and play, but her key workers at Pennies were extremely kind and reassuring. My daughter received lots of cuddles, focus and attention in those first few weeks and now she is beginning to flourish. She has gone from crying on drop off to bum shuffling off without so much as a backwards glance to play with her friends and all the wonderful toys. She eats well, sleeps well and has lots of fun playing indoors and out. I receive a daily handover and she clearly loves and appreciates her key workers often smiling and giggling at them when I pick her up at the end of the day. I was initially nervous about sending my daughter to nursery 5 days per week 7:30-17:00/18:30. Pennies really does feel like a home away from home. I genuinely believe my daughter is happy at Pennies and I cannot wait to see how she develops over the next year.
My son has been going to nursery since he was 17 months. Hes now 4 years old! He has flourished at Pennies Day Nursery - Mark Cross and become the caring little boy off the back of the nursery. The staff form such a lovely relationship with the children, parents and each other which leaves the atmosphere to feel very much like a family unit. My son has built great relationships across the nursery and hopefully continues to do so in afterschool/breakfast clubs. We are so pleased he went to this nursery as his personal development and learning has been remarkable. There really is no other nursery that we would consider to put our second child in! It really is a no Brainer! Well done to all the staff at Pennies Day Nursery - Mark Cross for all that they do. You guys are truly amazing and should leave every day feeling proud at the legacy you're leaving for the kiddies in preparation for big school and the development they have accomplished. Thank you!
We have had a great experience with Pennies Day Nursery, Mark Cross. Our son loves to go. The staff are always kind and caring towards him. He is slightly behind his peers and is also very picky about food. Staff have made a referral for extra support for him and have been keen to find out ways to support him further. We have appreciated this going the extra mile for him. We have struggled to get extra sessions for him because the nursery is so popular and busy but this hasn’t been too much of an issue as he would likely struggle with longer days at the moment.
What can I say other than wow what a nursery! We now have both our children at Pennies and we couldn't speak more highly of them. The support that they provide to the children and the parents is exceptional. Our son has built such lovely friendships with the staff and loves walking in the door every morning to see everyone. He loves wearing everyone out asking for 'more' of every fun activity. Not to mention all the crafting, sensory and outdoor time that he gets to experience. Our daughter has only started last month but already thriving, smashing her naps and now munching down on all the wonderful food. As she has a dairy allergy I started off concerned about how this would be managed but have been so reassured and confident that they have everything in hand. Pennies provide a wonderful environment that I could never dream of creating at home. I'm so glad that we decided to place our children in their care. To all the Pennies staff, thank you
Our son started at Pennies at 10 months old just over a year ago and we have been very happy with the care so far. He loves going to nursery and whenever we’ve had a chance to watch him without seeing us, he has seemed happy and content and interacting with all the staff. We enjoy seeing what he’s been up to on the app. Our family are vegan and our son has a soy intolerance so we were really unsure if he could be catered for but the kitchen does a wonderful job at providing a variety of choices for him. We started him at Pennies as my husband works at the primary school next door and had heard so many wonderful things from other parents but more importantly, the children who had been to Pennies for nursery, or still attend the after-school/holiday club. My only criticism is that it is very irritating to pay for bank holidays when the nursery is closed. This is because he attends on a Monday but if he attended on a Wednesday for example, he would get the days that we pay for.
A fantastic nursery both my son's absolutely love! They have both attended from 3 months and their confidence and development is a true credit to the team. The nursery has a positive and friendly aura and all the staff are so helpful and really care about the children's development. The nursery has a wonderful big garden for the children to enjoy with an array of climbing frames and toys. All meals are included, nutritious and I know they are getting everything they need for the day.
We love Pennies Day Nursery. Both my little boys attend and thoroughly enjoy it. My eldest is two and Pennies has taught him so much, he’s been there for over a year now. At first, he cried at every drop-off but everyone at Pennies was so lovely and kind and now he goes walking in with no problem! He has developed so much with his language, counting, colours and shapes. He has made so many friends. Sometimes he’s had such fun he doesn’t want to come home at the end of the day! My youngest is eighteen months and also loves it. His separation anxiety has improved a huge amount and has really helped me at home too all thanks to Pennies! He loves to explore all the new toys and activities and of course all the extra attention! The food is lovely and the boys eat so well, they have catered amazingly for one of them who is milk and soya free. Staff are a friendly and approachable and they don’t keep changing! We struggled with this at our previous nursery but they’ve been so constant at Pennies.
My son attends Pennies Day Nursery - Mark Cross three and a half days per week. He is nearly three years old and has attended since he was ten months old. He has built brilliant relationships with the staff, who show the utmost care for the children. They offer advice when looking at his development and really work with us to support him. He is building great relationships with other children and is so confident in social situations. Again, really supported and developed by the staff. He has nutritious meals and always comes home telling me what he has eaten. We really love the home-from-home environment and outside space. By far an amazing environment for our little chap who loves to learn outside. They go out in all weathers and he loves this.
Pennies is a wonderful nursery. The staff go above and beyond, keep the children well entertained and teach them lots of valuable skills through play. They helped my eldest so he was well prepared to start school. There is a fabulous garden for the children to run around in whatever the weather (they will be dressed appropriately for the weather by staff) and they also provide a nutritious menu.
Our daughter loves going to Pennies Holiday Club. She enjoys the creative activities, the outdoor activities, playing with the different ages of children and the trips. She also enjoys the food, which is good for a fussy eater, including vegetarian and vegan options. The staff are always friendly and obviously caring. They are inclusive of dads not just mums, which is important and not always the case in our experience. Pennies do their best to stay open in extreme weather conditions, on one occasion managing without electricity for part of the day. The hours are good for our work shifts and although out of our way we are happy to do the extra mileage as Pennies are so liked by us and our daughter. It is well run by professional, helpful and caring staff. Thanks Pennies!
The kids absolutely love going to Pennies Kids Club during the school holidays. We know the kids are safe, well and happy there. The weekly day trips are an absolute highlight. The staff are a great bunch. Extremely happy to recommend.
We have now chosen Pennies Mark Cross for our son after a show-around. The reason why we chose Pennies Mark Cross was because everyone looked very happy to be there from kids to carers and that was lovely to see, and I was getting choked up about how much our son would love it there. I did not have to ask any questions as the staff told me everything while we walked around. Our son really loved his first session, there was a scene when we told him he had to leave Pennies and come home!
