View Full Details of Silks Farm Nursery SchoolSilks Farm is a fantastic nursery, in a lovely setting with fantastic, caring and compassionate staff. My little boy has thrived here and loves all of his teachers. The outside space is fab too. I couldn't have asked for a better nursery experience. We moved out of the area recently, and it was a very sad day when we said our Goodbyes! Thank you for everything, Silks Farm team!
The teams that have looked after my daughters have been amazing, so helpful and caring. I would easily give them five stars. Both my daughters have enjoyed their time there and have really benefitted developmentally. The location of the nursery is great, out in the countryside and with access to nature. The administration, however, and overall nursery policies are sadly what let it down. I have struggled to get places for my daughters on days other than Monday and Friday, and that’s most likely because you are charged the full fee for bank holidays - even though the nursery isn’t even open. This is instead of spreading the cost equally across all attendees. I have also had to contact the nursery on a couple of occasions to sort out miscalculated invoices and settling-in plans. At times, it feels like the parents are asked to be flexible (eg when there are unexpected staff shortages), but this flexibility is not returned. Overall, I would still recommend it, but things could be improved.
Silks Farm has been a wonderful nursery for my little girl; she’s had excellent care every day and she’s settled so well. I've had beautiful observations and wonderful feedback each day from her room. The team have been so heartwarming, and I can tell they really care; it’s made returning to work so much easier.
Our son (15 months) has been at Silks Farm for six months now, and we could not be happier with how he is progressing. It's very obvious how much the staff care about the children and are incredibly passionate about what they do. Our son is always so excited to go to nursery and is thriving in the environment that the brilliant team provide for the children. Can't recommend them enough!
My daughter has been going to nursery since she was 9nine months old - she will be three in August. The care she receives not just from her key worker, but all members of the team is impeccable. They go out on little walks to the forest school; they do lots of activities, singing, dancing and teaching sign language. All children are well looked after, and I feel my daughter is safe in the environment.
Great nursery. We relocated to the local area and our son was welcomed by everyone very warmly. Made the transition as a 3 year old, very smoothly. He gets to be outside a lot, has learnt a lot and we get updated on his progress every day. Only this morning at breakfast did he say (unprompted) ‘I love my nursery’. The staff are fun but fair and firm. Very happy with their care.
Amazing staff and a lovely setting. The staff are always smiling and so helpful they understand families and are there to support individuals. Management is great always so understanding and supportive.
Our daughter started at Silks Farm just over a year ago when she was 6 months old, and has thrived ever since, thanks to the amazing staff who work so hard to support her. She is such a happy and confident little girl, and her key workers have all been so patient and kind as she has grown and developed from a baby to a toddler! We love how spacious the nursery is, how many activities the kids have available to them, the relaxed yet professional attitude of the management and staff. They are continuously improving the environment for the kids, have a great outdoor space, and the forest school is such an asset. We would highly recommend the nursery to any new parents looking for a warm and inviting setting for their baby or young child, that is also exceptionally good value for money in the area. Oh and the meals they have on offer are fantastic - really diverse and nutritious - and have hugely helped our daughter to become a real foodie!
All staff are so lovely and my daughter is always having a great time at nursery along with developing her skills. My daughter loves playing outside and at nursery they really do promote playing outside. Overall a very well-run nursery and the food for the children is always great as well.
Our daughter loves attending nursery and is always happy to go in and be collected. The staff are brilliant both with her and at communicating with me throughout the day. We are always kept well informed of changes, how much she has eaten and what she has been up to. Our son attended for his preschool years and still misses Silks Farm.
Silks Farm is amazing. The staff are great, and my son loves going. Management is always accommodating with extra days. The carers have checked in on me multiple times when I have been struggling and have also been so supportive.
Our daughter joined the nursery at the age of 2.5 mid-pandemic and had a hard time settling in. Due to me being pregnant and wanting to avoid contracting Covid or childhood illnesses, we kept our daughter home every time there was an infection notice from the nursery. This means that she didn't settle in properly until I have given birth and could send her in without being afraid of the repercussions. However, she has fully blossomed in the nursery once she joined the Rabbit's room and got her key worker. Now she is a happy and confident lady that loves going to Silks Farm and spending time with her key worker and her friends. No more tantrums at the door, and even more so, whenever she is forced to miss a session, our daughter gets upset and cannot wait to go back again. To sum up, despite our bumpy start, our overall experience with Silks Farm has been positive. We will miss all the lovely staff members and especially her key worker when our daughter leaves for her big school adventure.
My son started with Silks Farm Nursery School when he was 6 months old and he's now almost 2 years old. Even with us moving house, we kept him at the nursery simply because of how amazing the staff are. He loves attending nursery and the activities are brilliant. His development has come on leaps and bounds and the staff genuinely seem so pleased when he learns something new. Couldn't fault them!
Lovely, attentive staff who really got to know our daughter. She always came home happy and clearly had lots of fun. It was great how often the children accessed outside space. She also had lots of opportunities to do activities and learned counting and how to write her name.
All the staff are super friendly and always greeted with a smile. They always chat when we collect our little boy and tell us what he has been doing and are very helpful when he first started and used to be screaming upon arrival, but they soon calmed him down.
Amazing in every way. Both my girls have been so happy here and will be devastated to leave for school! Cannot fault this nursery in any way. The staff are fantastic, great outdoor space and many learning opportunities are provided.
The staff have been great at helping my daughter settle. I don't think she has been to the nature school yet, so I wish this was used more often. I also wish there were more practical life activities. Overall, I am glad I moved my daughter over to Silks Farm Nursery.
The nursery staff are fantastic and friendly, communicative and very reassuring. Our son always seems to come out smiling. The nursery is in a nice rural setting and has invested in the garden recently, which is great.
An amazing, friendly nursery where every child is looked after and cared for. They take the greasiest pride in every child’s development. The environment is constantly being improved to cater for the children’s needs, and my children are so, so happy here!
Great people working there with a lot of dedication! My daughter loves going to Silks Farm, and she is always very happy when I pick her up! The manager of Silks Farm is great and very creative, and since she joined Silks Farm, a lot of good things happen. On a daily basis, kids go wherever they need, and the team is always for them! Highly recommended!
