View Full Details of Cardiff Steiner School KindergartenThe Kindergarten has offered a consistent and nurturing environment for my daughter over the last few years. They have wonderfully calm and patient teachers and assistants who connect with the children. As a parent, we are regularly informed and encouraged to attend the many events happening at the Kindergarten and School, which it is part of. There is a strong parent community which helps build a closer connection to the School as a whole. The children start as the newbies in the Kindergarten watching the older children in their class become a star child when they turn 5. Before long they are that star child and are growing into inspiring young people on their journey towards the main school.
The Cardiff Steiner School Kindergarten has given our son a wonderful environment to thrive in. The staff are warm and really have the trust and respect of the children. The days are clearly structured with periods of play, tidying, eating together, crafting and stories. Meal times are a wonder to see, with children eating together, often quietly and calmly. The Kindergarten has a principle of 'free play' meaning that the resources for play are chosen with a view to developing childrens' creative abilities and skills in interacting with one another, minimising ready-made play routines that would be based on button pressing or electronic toys. There is a nice community of parents who take part in some of the yearly kindergarten festivals, such as the lantern walk in autumn, and help with upkeep of the little playground/garden. Our son is so happy to go to kindergarten every day. We couldn't ask for more.
I cannot recommend Cardiff Steiner kindergarten highly enough. My son attended from three to six. He was extremely attached, cautious and affected by lockdown. They provided us with two 9am-1pm kindy sessions for me and him to attend together and settle in. This was extremely valuable and reassuring for both of us. Together we became familiar with the wholesome, balanced, daily rhythm, activities and staff. Kindy provided a nurturing safe and loving space. He blossomed into a confident, happy, sociable individual. The experienced, well educated, caring and wise teachers role model fantastic behavior and language. The children learn how to help with tasks e.g. laying the table or chopping veg for the shared meal, cooperate and show kindness to each other. We all loved kindergarten so much, including the community family events and festivals and are eager for our daughter to start when she turns 3!
My three daughters go to cardiff Steiner school and my youngest is in kindi. I feel this is the best school I have ever come across. I am so grateful that my daughters are growing up in a nurturing environment where they are happy and safe. I feel this school is an example of what we all want our children to receive, Happy and healthy ways that will support them in the future.
An excellent space for young children to grow and develop. Excellent role models from staff. Good routines to help children know what is happening. Love and support for children. Great to have parent evenings and parents meeting and extra events.
My three daughters have all been at Cardiff Steiner School Kindergarten - our youngest who is four is still there. We and she absolutely love it. The staff are extremely warm, gentle and professional. We love the rhythm that they create for the children so that our 4 year old knows what's the day by the food they're eating and the activity they're doing - for example 'It's walk day today mama' or 'It's rice day' - it gives her a sense of control and routine. They make beautiful crafts, celebrate each season with wonderful songs and festivals and create a space for little people that allows them to explore the world from a very safe and loving place. I'd highly recommend it!
When choosing the right setting for my eldest son, we wanted somewhere that was warm and caring with staff who were passionate about what they did and the education/care they provided, whilst giving a warning environment that worked to the pace of my son and his natural development. This is when we found the kindergarten. It was everything we wanted and more and I believe it gave our son the best start. Providing him with essential skills which will carry with him through his life. It was only natural that our youngest would also attend when he turned 3 as well. We loved every second of our time at kindergarten and would highly recommend.
