View Full Details of Wee Gems Corstorphine NurseryVery pleasant staff and eager to help. Lots of indoor and outdoor activities for my child to participate in. All in all very safe and friendly environment for my son to spend the day and learn lots of new words and new songs that he comes home singing too.
My child has been at Wee Gems Corstorphine for about 3 years now. They have always been well cared for and supported. In the last year or so, management and staff retention has really improved and my child really enjoys their days in the setting and outside (e.g. forest school, park, care home, museum, supermarket and charity shop visits). Staff are kind, communicative and enthusiastic.
I have been so impressed with Wee Gems Corstorphine. Our daughter has thrived with the care, nurturing guidance and genuine warmth of the team. She was mainly in the 'tweenies room'. Having not really been that impressed with a different nursery, Wee Gems was a complete contract - lots of regular staff (rather than temporary agency) who spent the time and invested in getting to know our girl. We would thoroughly recommend Wee Gems to anyone.
Wee Gems is an amazing nursery. They are very well-organised and attentive to the kids. They have great security, so feel that my Granddaughter is well looked after. Our little one suffers badly from Eczema and the staff are very sensitive and loving towards her. She is only coming up for 3 years old and can already communicate with us all very well and also can communicate with her great aunt via Makaton, it's very impressive! She loves her Nursery teachers and talks constantly about her days there.
A great nursery which my son really enjoys. Love their trips to the forest and to elderly care homes. It has improved a lot in the two years he has been there, the current management does a great job. Staff all very friendly and caring.
My little one loves the nursery and their staff who provide a variety of learning activities as well as a caring and friendly environment and attitude which helps my child feel welcome and relaxed safe and well. That in return makes me feel at ease leaving her.
My son has been at Wee Gems since he was 10 months old, and has just turned 4. He loves it! More recently, the new manager has introduced so many learning-related activities, such as Forestery School, trips to the library and local care home and numerous trips to the museum. Staff are really caring and friendly, making you feel comfortable and that your child will be safe and well cared for.
Brilliantly caring, communicative and competent. Wee Gems couldn't go further in looking after our boy. The updates and developmental goals are a huge help and he himself is glowing about his experiences every day when picked up.
The experience with Wee Gems is great! My child loves going to nursery. He likes all the staff and the staff also like him. My child is younger than two, the staff are all very patient and play important roles in his growth and development. My child loves the time at nursery and would dream about it. We could tell how much fun he had at nursery from those midnight giggles. Thanks for all the effort the staff and the nursery have made. We're really grateful.
My first baby was born this year and I had to go back to work just after 6 months. Wee Gems made sense for us location-wise so we viewed the nursery shortly after he was born and secured a place for him to start in August. I cannot thank the team enough for the support and care they have shown our little one from day one. I drop him off knowing he is safe and knowing that there will be new things to learn and fun to be had. Ultimately we wanted him to get the same level of care we would give him at home and at Wee Gems Corstorphine, we know this is the case. Thank you so much to two staff members in particular who look after and support my son on his nursery days, but a huge thank you to the manager, who is a credit to Wee Gems. You do fantastic work guys!
I urgently needed to arrange childcare for my young daughter (10 months at the time) and the manager was very quick to respond and arrange a viewing and a set of settling sessions with the baby room. My little girl settled well and for the month she stayed in the nursery until we moved and developed a good relationship with two staff members in particular in the baby room. I felt she was very well looked after, happy to be dropped off and developed nicely in the staff’s care. I was sad to take her out again as we moved too far away, and can only hope the next nursery will be as good.
My daughter started in October and she absolutely loves it! The staff are very attentive and she has formed a lovely bond with the Trainee who she adores. Her speaking has also improved so much in such a short span of time. Management are also very good at answering emails and general queries. Would highly recommend it!
Wee Gems is a fantastic nursery and my daughter loves it there. The staff are very attentive and have got to know her really well. I have no doubts at all that they are taking great care of her while we are at work. They’ve really stepped up their communication in recent months too which is appreciated.
Since enrolling my daughter to Wee Gems I’ve had no problems, she has come on leaps and bounds thanks to the staff. My daughter suffered really badly with eczema and the staff really accommodated her needs, made sure her cream was applied at appropriate times. I feel at ease when I drop her off in the mornings because I know she’s in good hands. Best nursery in the area.
My little girl is doing wonderfully, she eats everything even things she doesn't want to eat at home and is so happy to go to the nursery. There is great communication between teachers and parents, I will also send the second child soon.
Nothing against old managers but since the new manager has started at Wee Gems, the morale amongst staff has picked up and the improvements happening within Wee Gems for the children have been amazing. My daughter started at Wee Gems when she was just 18 months old and she is now coming on 4. So the improvements over that period and the staff are all doing a fab job.
Our child has been welcomed so warmly into the wee gems team and although there are still tears at drop-off, all of the staff are brilliant and comforting. Our child has developed so much in many aspects and we are safe in the knowledge they are being well looked after. The communication has improved dramatically since the new manager has come on board and there is much less staff turnover. The staff are all very friendly and approachable. Overall we are very happy with the care.
My wee one enjoys so much going to the nursery, she is learning lots of new things, especially words and expressions because English is not her first language so the staff encourage her to learn and feel more comfortable when she is trying to communicate. Also, everyone has been really supportive of her. So proud to be part of this lovely community.
Although our pre-school daughter is often a little reluctant to say goodbye to Daddy at drop-off, she always comes home excited and happy about her day. She has a great bond with her key worker who takes time to gently stretch her in learning. In general, the staff do a great job tailoring activities to key points in the year, important development topics and also the children's own interests each day. (Her dietary requirements are also catered for happily.) She gets plenty of opportunity for outdoor physical play, enjoys dance classes (at a small additional cost) and regularly comes home with traces of paint on her! The nursery has also been effective, understanding, and patient dealing with the logistical and emotional difficulties of Covid over the last couple of years, for children, carers, and staff. Overall we're very happy with Wee Gems.
I have three daughters. Two of them have attended Wee Gems since they were 3 years old and 11 months old (respectively). The eldest has now moved on and the younger of the two girls is now in the pre-school room. Both the girls absolutely love Wee Gems and have been well supported in their learning, play and social interactions. Our youngest is only 3 months old but will be attending Wee Gems when I return to work as a primary school teacher after my maternity leave. The staff at Wee Gems really got to know our girls as individuals and keep us well informed of their experiences and development at nursery. Our oldest daughter loves coming to pick her little sister up and the staff are still keen to hear all of her news and take the time to still make her feel part of the Wee Gems family. I couldn’t be happier with the kind and caring environment in which our girls have thrived at Wee Gems and would highly recommend the nursery to others.
