View Full Details of First Steps NurseryMy daughter has been attending First Steps nursery for 18 months and loves it. The staff are always lovely and very caring, and she has grown fond of a few members of staff, in particular. They often run stay-and-play sessions and have organised some great events for families to get involved in, including Christmas and the Jubilee, which were both lovely for the children and adults! I trust the staff completely to take good care of my little girl!
Fantastic nursery and fantastic staff, my little girl loves going. The staff just can't do enough for the children. I wouldn't hesitate in recommending this nursery to anyone who asks. Well done to all that work there.
Where to begin? My daughter started this nursery when she was a baby and she will be transitioning to infants this September. This isn't just a nursery, far from it. The staff are like a family. The love they have for the children in their care astounds me. Every individual child is given the same devotion and time as the next. They respect individuality whilst trying to encourage growth and autonomy. Individual needs are respected, and nothing is too much trouble. The lengths this nursery went to during covid was nothing short of outstanding. Not once did they have to close due to covid. Their rooms are fantastic and watching the theme change along with the seasons is lovely. The activities, such as forest school, are amazing, and the ideas they have for the likes of Easter, Halloween etc just blow the children's minds. If I had another child that needed to go to nursery, this place would, without a doubt, be the place they went. Simply amazing.
The fantastic staff at First Steps Nursery have been truly amazing with both of our girls (aged 5 and 2) and have become part of our extended family. The quality of the care we have received has been outstanding from the day our eldest child started to the present day with our 2 year old who has attended five full days each week since she was 11 months old. The healthy home cooked meals, links to the local community, opportunities to develop across all aspects of their learning, parental consultations and communication through daily diaries and newsletters, have shown us as parents how much they are willing to 'go the extra mile' for the children to ensure they receive the best possible start to their education. The owner/manager's clear drive and vision for the nursery is visible through how hard the staff work as a team. We think the world of the staff and deciding to send our children to First Steps has been the best decision ever.
I wouldn't hesitate to recommend this nursery. Both of my children attend, one for breakfast club and school drop off and the other for childcare. My little one struggled to settle in to her last nursery, so we moved her to First Steps. She has settled in really well and now thoroughly enjoys going and playing with her friends and is always eager to tell us what they've been up to. The staff are all very friendly and very helpful. We have required extra support with speech and language and all of the nursery staff have been on board and her key worker has liaised with Speech Therapy. The staff know my children and their personalities very well and offer extra support to them when needed. The children do a wide variety of activities and make very good use of local facilities. The rooms are well resourced and the activities changed daily/ weekly/ seasonally, which the children are also involved in. They are served hot home cooked, balanced meals and snacks.
I cannot recommend this nursery enough. It has been a huge part of my life for 5 years with both my son attending and now my daughter. My son left to start school and still talks about the girls now. My daughter loves going and is always talking about the fun things she has done while I'm at work.
My husband and I cannot thank this nursery enough for how much they have helped develop our daughter. She has been going almost for a year now and turns three in September. She has gone from a little girl who used to by shy and not talk, into a confident little lady who can communicate with you and now makes friends with children her own age. This is a big stepping stone for when she starts school. The staff at the nursery are fab. They are so helpful, offer advice and always wish you a good day when you are heading into work. They are also flexible if there is an emergency. I think it shows how relaxed my daughter is at this nursery when she is asking to go to nursery and when she talks about the nursery staff being her 'best friends'. I would recommend this place to anyone who is wanting to develop their children before school!
