View Full Details of Busy Bees West ByfleetI couldn’t be happier with Busy Bee's West Byfleet. The staff are so kind and caring, they all know my daughter, even those in different rooms. They have been so reassuring to both me and my daughter whenever my daughter is having a wobbly day and doesn't want to go in, but she always has the best day and is so happy and excited to tell me what she has been up to at pick-up time.
My nearly 3 year old really enjoys going to nursery here. He gets plenty of outdoor and messy play and the staff love him. He's been going there since he was one and as he's progressed through the classes we've seen him develop socially as well as with his general learning. Since new management has been in place we've been kept much more up-to-date with what's happening, have more opportunities for parents evenings and general communication has just really improved. Staff have been supportive and attentive in helping manage his asthma and get in touch if they have any concerns. I'll be sending my younger child in the Autumn and would recommend it to others too. My only criticism is the cost as I know it's more expensive than others in the area - would love to be able to afford more sessions!
We have two children at Busy Bees, West Byfleet and rate the nursery very highly. Our youngest is in the baby room and is extremely well cared for and nurtured. The staff were all so supportive during her settling in period and they genuinely care about her and us as a family. Our eldest is in preschool and experiences the same level of care but is encouraged to be more independent, which is great for him. He learns so much there and is being well prepared for the school environment. The facilities at the nursery are great, particularly the garden and surrounding grounds.
We have used this nursery for our daughter since March 2019. In that time, she has moved through the different rooms and I have seen her make huge progress in her development, social skills learning and confidence, which I can mainly attribute to her time at nursery. My daughter is now in preschool where I feel she is stimulated with great learning activities, thanks to the room leader. Overall, all the staff we have dealt with over the years have been caring, supportive and informative. The management has frustratingly, been lacking but I'm pleased so far with the new team in place (December 2021).
My oldest son started Busy Bees in younger babies and went on to 'graduate' from preschool in August 2020. I can't rate the staff enough, the childcare and loving environment they provided for my son was brilliant, he loved going to nursery and the setting provided a fantastic foundation for his start into school. My youngest son started in younger babies at 10 months and finished just before his 2nd birthday (we moved house). We were so upset to say goodbye to the nursery, the staff, room leaders and key workers were absolutely fantastic and provided so much structure to his day, with a detailed handover every day in the baby book. I can' rate them highly enough. I wouldn't hesitate in recommending the lovely staff, quality of the nursery and facilities the setting offered.
What a delightful nursery in a calming environment setting. Our 16 month-old son joined in September and after four weeks of getting used to the idea of being away from home, he has warmed greatly to the two lovely carers in the baby room. It is a joy and relief to see him go off in the mornings with a smile. A delightful garden which he loves playing in. Covid has sadly made the usual settling in period slightly more challenging as parents are unable to enter nurseries but the staff and management have been amazing in doing all they can to help. Welcoming and reassuring, especially in the first few weeks when it can be an anxious time for parents and babies. Furthermore, the food is fabulous. Our son has some intolerances, and they have been fantastic in taking care of his dietary needs. Would recommend.
My little girl started nursery in September and she absolutely loves it. We looked at a few nurseries before deciding on this one as it was our favourite by far. I love the setting, my little girl loves horses and there are fields on either side of you with horses in on the way down to the nursery. The nursery itself is in a cute little building and it is nice and clean, fresh and modern inside and out, with plenty of toys and activities for the children to choose from. The staff are very nice and friendly and always playful with the children and encouraging them to try new things. I am very pleased with our experience so far and how well my daughter has taken to the nursery.
Busy Bees at West Byfleet has been a wonderful experience for us. When putting your child in nursery for the first time, it is a very scary experience but the room manager and her team were amazing. The room is great and my child now loves it. We never hear from the management though (head teacher). We would get a 'cold' greeting from her. However every other staff member and care taker is lovely. I would however like to see more photos of what they get up to and more details in her diary.
Our son very much enjoys Busy Bees and is coming on leaps and bounds.
Staff are nice, friendly and committed. The downfall is staff turnover and the quality of food is not as good as it was when the nursery was under the previous owners. The newsletter is good and informative. Like the different events. Facilities are good and clean.
Our son really enjoys attending Busy Bees and he has come on leaps and bounds since he started here. The staff are friendly and interact very nicely with the kids.
My son loves the nursery and everyone has made him feel welcome. He has settled in wonderfully. I feel very happy about leaving him. He is well looked after in every way. The nursery has helped his development massively and as parents, we are amazed at his progress. Would highly recommend.
My son has really settled into the nursery. He really enjoys his day and always tells me how much he loves his keyworker. Thanks girls, we really appreciate everything you do for us.
My daughter is doing well. She is enjoying playing with her friends and looks forward to going to nursery. Her confidence is growing and she loves Show and Tell.
Starting from the top, the temporary area manager offers reassuring words but any issues are not dealt with by the nursery manager. The face of a nursery should be confident of talking to parents and have a decent level of communication skills. Repeated concerns are not dealt with in a timely manner, leaving both parents and children in positions of instability. Holidays for key workers, worse still changes in the key worker, are not communicated, leaving children and parents confused. High turnover of staff in the pre-school room leave you unsure of who is looking after your child. Although the chef does a good job with the resources made available, our child has been left with dry cereal and rationed because they are waiting for a food order later in the week. Any concerns or negative news delivered by the low level trained room members never come with any advice, ideas or support. The education feels minimal, the only advances in my child’s learnings have come directly from her mother.
There are members of staff that I would rate as excellent and others that are not very good at all. This is also true of the management. The nursery manager is excellent and following an investigation into staff behaviour, the manager was quick to respond appropriately. This behaviour is not mirrored across the whole of their team. The preschool ran a daily show and tell activity (which sounded a great idea to build the children’s confidence). We were informed that due to increased numbers the children would be put on a weekly rota. My daughter was given a slot when she didn’t attend the nursery. I mentioned it serval times to her key worker and then again to the assistant manager. Our child’s key worker was off for long periods and I had to ask the management who would be caring for our child. Following their departure, we were never informed who would be taking over this role. Staff turn over is currently high. With my child having serval temporary members of staff.
We have had a great experience at Busy Bees. My daughter loves it here and I'm happy with the help and support provided by the team.
Everyone at the nursery are ever so kind and caring. Always willing to listen to our concerns. Our key worker always helps and advises when we are having difficult times. Thank you.
We always have a great experience of Busy Bees. My only complaint would be the admin side of things. If this was brought up to the standard of the care provided that would be amazing.
Great nursery. Friendly and helpful staff. My son enjoys coming here learning and making new friends.
