My daughter loves attending the CPHS nursery. The nursery staff are extremely caring and hardworking and they keep me well updated on how her day has gone and her progress. We are very pleased with our decision to send her here.

My child attends Colchester Prep and High School Nursery, and we are extremely pleased with the experience. Wonderful Nursery! The staff are so well experienced and brilliant at teaching and nurturing the children. My son comes home with positive stories every day which he is always so keen to share with me. Amazing for transitioning into reception and future school progression.

My son is very happy at Colchester Prep and High School Nursery. He loves the teachers and is happy and excited to go into school. His speech and confidence have grown since starting and he loves telling us about the learning he has done. Parents are kept up to date with school life via daily written communication in learning diaries and with photos and videos online. Thank you for helping my child to feel so happy and confident at school after a negative experience at his first setting!

Friendly, welcoming, professional and experienced staff. Modern facilities. Nice, safe, secure open-air play area. 2 year groups in nursery provides for children to mix/interacf/play with children of a wide age range. Resonable fees for the quality of care, education, facilities, staff/pupil ratio.

Excellent nursery with committed and dedicated staff. My son has thrived in the nursery setting. The nursery staff and nursery manager have been very engaged and helped my son find the confidence to come in happy every day.

Our child is currently at the nursery at Colchester Prep and High School and we couldn't be happier. The staff are so kind and caring and our child has grown in confidence since joining the nursery last year. The nursery offer subjects that other nurseries don't and the key workers are so engaged with the children and clearly love what they do. A wonderful place to send your children!

We transferred our 3 year old daughter to Colchester Prep and High School Nursery midway through the year as we were dissatisfied with her previous nursery. Within 2 days of starting, she had bonded with the staff, settled into the routines and was excited about going into nursery in the morning and asking to attend on more days. This year she is absolutely loving nursery still, and gaining great enjoyment from the wide range of activities available, including phonics, music, PE, cookery, forest school. We are delighted with the way she is being supported in her early years learning and it is all testament to the sensitivity, care and professionalism of the fantastic nursery team. Our younger daughter will be joining as soon as she turns 2. A really wonderful environment!

The leadership and staff at CPHS are exceptional. Their dedication to providing a safe, nurturing environment is evident in every interaction. Regular updates and open communication reassure us our son is in great hands. They truly understand the needs of each child and go above and beyond to ensure they feel happy and supported every step of the way. Starting nursery was a big step for my shy son, the staff were patient and kind helping him settle, and he’s now thriving. CPHS offers a wide range of stimulating lessons and activities, fostering creativity and learning. Every day is a chance for our son to explore and grow. The sense of community that CPHS has cultivated means that it is not just a place where children come to learn, it’s a place where every child is included, accepted and celebrated. My child absolutely thrives in this setting. My child receives personalised, professional and experienced care. Activities are effectively matched to meet his needs meaning that he is eager to learn and has a real sense of achievement with his learning. The wealth of knowledge that the team have exceeded my expectations and the opportunities to learn different things such as Forest Schools, PE, Music and French from specialist teachers have really enriched my child’s love of learning. Being part of the school community has added such a lovely start to his nursery/school career. We cannot thank you all enough for all you do for him!

I love the nursery which has been great for my children. It has been lovely to see them thrive in the supportive environment offered; learning to write their names, recognise letters, handle computers, and learn French. There’s a lovely outdoor play area and they have regular visits from the older children at the school who are superb role models for the little ones.

My little boy can't wait to go to Colchester High School Nursery each morning and the way he has developed and grown since he joined has been wonderful to see. The nursery staff have given my son and us as a family such great support since he joined. They have really made the effort to get to know him, what he likes/doesn’t like and helped encourage him when needed. We are always welcomed each morning by staff with smiles on their faces who genuinely seem to love the children and it's clear it is a very happy place. The staff are kind, reassuring and supportive and my son has formed really lovely relationships with them as well as starting to make some friendships with his peers. The children participate in a variety of activities indoor and outdoor, they have a lovely nursery outdoor play area. They also take part each day in a school-type lesson (PE, music, ICT etc) which I feel has really started to prepare him for school life. Thank you to the team at Colchester High School Nursery.

The experience my youngest child has had has been incredible. He started during the pandemic and the way he was settled in couldn’t have been any better. He never wants to leave and loves his experience so much we increased his days very quickly. They are so caring and take so much time settling you as a parent as well.

Where to start! My second child is currently at this nursery and he just loves it there. He strides up the steps every morning happy and confident and I’m certain it’s because of the wonderful nurturing staff. They are so kind and reassuring. My children get so attached to them, which is lovely. They do so many brilliant activities each day and every day he comes home chattering about his delicious lunch! It’s a great introduction to school life, with PE, French and IT lessons included. I also love the importance they place on fresh air -they have a brilliant garden all to themselves. I just couldn’t recommend it anymore, truly. My daughter went there too and still looks back so fondly. She came out with an amazing foundation for reading and indeed was reading proper books just a short time after. I’m so impressed by the reading, write, inc programme they have there. The children love to do it and it’s hugely effective. Just an excellent nursery, all round.

Our daughter has been at the nursery since she was 2.5 years old and has had an incredible experience. Academically, she has thrived with reading and writing and has gained an incredible ability to read and blend letter sounds and begin to read her first books as well as being able to do basic maths sums, recognising and writing letters, numbers and understanding what they mean. The nursery has also encouraged her artistic ability using varied mediums and her creative play with plenty of dress-up and imaginative play. The ability of the nursery to have specific music/P.E teachers really enhances the education and transition to school if you choose to go. Being part of a private school, I was anxious about the type of parent and therefore child that would be attending. Having now experienced it for myself, I can reassure anyone that it’s simply the best decision we made. Our daughter was surrounded by love, support and friendship from teachers and peers and has emerged as a well-rounded individual.

I would highly recommend Colchester High School nursery, I moved my son to the nursery after having a bad experience with another local nursery in Colchester. From the moment my son started it felt right, and over a year on I couldn't fault the nursery. All of the staff are caring and engaging with the children. They provide a fantastic range of activities for the children from foreign languages and cooking to forest school. They provide a safe loving environment for the children to flourish. My son loves nursery and looks forward to going every day. Thank you to all the staff!
