View Full Details of Brown Bears Nursery - Palmers GreenI can't start to let you know how much I loved it at Brown Bears Nursery. The team and children are so diverse and very cultured. They make me feel like family and any questions or struggles I had, as a single mom, they would help me with. I love the different, cultural food, celebrations and events that they would have, to make everyone feel welcome and appreciated. Brown Bears Nursery will forever be a part of my child's and my memories and lives. I've built relationships that are still standing strong with many of the team and other families as well. Thank you all so much.
I've had two children attend Brown Bears Nursery. My last child is about to leave to go to school. Both children have attended Brown Bears since babies. The care and love that my children have received at nursery has been amazing! The staff at the nursery are so loving and have allowed both my children to flourish and have prepared them for school. I am due to have another baby this September and my baby will also be attending Brown Bears next year.
The manager is blunt, no partnership with parents. If you are a new mum and this is your first experience at this setting it will not be the best. I was told I would not be informed of activities as this isn't done every day. My son came home in his sister's shoes which were clearly too small for him. Concerns were told to the manager and staff as there was only one member of staff with 9 children in the room alone - ratio (is 1/4) and that was followed by the deputy saying “When did she start working here?”. Then the manager follows up by stating they have a lone working policy. They were still over ratio and that is a safeguarding issue. My children were removed and when I called to let the manager know what had made me uncomfortable her response was ok. If I could give no stars I would. These are my children, my whole heart and the lack of care, attention, compassion, and no person to comfort them (no keyworker). Is just heartbreaking.
My son has attended Brown Bears since he was 11 months old. He's nearly 3 years old now and very happy there. It has a warm feel, the staff really care about the children and know all of them. The managers are lovely. They have high standards but are friendly and approachable. I'm impressed by the range of fun educational activities he gets up to like yoga, arts and crafts, even learning phonics in a fun way. His key workers have given me great feedback about his development and have encouraged him to learn skills like putting on his coat himself. There are two gardens, they're small but this is to be expected in London and my son enjoys the equipment. The food is good and the nursery is really clean and well-presented. I'm extremely grateful as the fees are also reasonable compared to other nurseries in the area.
Our son has been attending Brown Bears for over a year now and has transitioned from baby to toddler room. The is amazing, really warm and welcoming, you can feel her passion for the kids and ensuring Brown Bears is a comfortable, secure, fun, diverse and happy place for all. From day one the staff have been exceptional, friendly and accommodating and have doted on our son, whilst also teaching him essential social skills and boundaries - this has been really crucial to his development as a toddler. He squeals excitedly when we arrive most mornings, eager to learn and play with his friends. It's such a relief for us as we know that he is happy every day, especially now he is a little older, he can talk about what he is learning, who he has played with etc. and we can view his activities live in action via the Tapestry system. For us, Brown Bear offers a 10/10 service! Thank you to the manager and the team for your daily devotion to our son, and all of the children.
