View Full Details of Charlton Nursery - BristolWe currently have our second and third children at the nursery and we couldn't recommend it enough. The nursery nurtures, cares and helps in the development of all of our children while maintaining clear communication throughout. When situations arise that may require further development, such as issues with speech, then it is raised and discussed with the parents in a brilliant way, with options discussed and progress assessed and open for further intervention if required. The fact that so many of the staff have remained at the nursery also shows that they not only care but enjoy coming to work, which is always great to see from both a parent and child perspective.
Charlton Nursery is an amazing place for children to learn and grow. My daughter has absolutely thrived here, the staff are brilliant and she always has the nicest things to say about them all. I'm so so glad that I had chosen Charlton for my nursery and would again in a heart beat.
My eldest child is about to leave Charlton Nursery (Bristol) after attending for over three years. The nursery has been a brilliant provision since day one. She has loved each class she has been in. I really like how all the staff, regardless of whether she is in their class, seem to know who she is. The staff are great, caring, friendly and always give you an update on how the day has been. The food is good and varied. Lovely facilities, including an Astro and outside play space. The administration and communication are really good, and you get to see lots of photos of the activities they get up to during the day. We have recently moved out of the local area, but due to the standard of the provision have decided to keep my youngest at Charlton for another year or so until he starts school.
My child attended Charlton Nursery for four years from nine months and has progressed through each class. Every room leader has been attentive to his needs and helped him become the amazing, confident little man he is today. Everyone makes an effort to get to know each other and even my little boy can name the adults and the other kids in other rooms. Would highly recommend. The manager is great and makes such an effort to get to know the children and their parents. The food cooked by the chef is loved by all and so nutritious. Access to the Astro pitch is a great space for the kids to run around and helps make up for the lack of immediate green space.
I couldn’t recommend this nursery highly enough. My eldest has gone all the way through from the baby room to the preschool and absolutely loved it there, and started school so well prepared and ahead of his peers in terms of literacy and numeracy - he couldn’t have been more ready thanks to the hard work of all the staff. My youngest is currently in the daffodil room and is settling back in really well post lockdown - again testament to the amazing staff who ensure they listen to the parents and children and follow and encourage their interests. The food the children are given is amazing, and there is a wide range of activities and learning opportunities provided - I especially like the amount of messy play they do (as I try and steer away from this at home!). The communication between the nursery and parents is really good with an app used to convey the ‘BAU’ info such as nappy changes and food eaten which is really helpful.
Our daughters both attend Charlton and have done so since age 1. Through each of the four rooms, they have been very well cared for, stimulated and happy! The management team are attentive, welcoming and hard-working. Every member of staff has been friendly and built good relationships with them. The food is excellent. Would highly recommend.
As I work for a certain company it felt like a logical thing to put my daughter at Charlton Nursery (Winterstoke Road) as I went back to work after maternity leave. My daughter was around 13 months then. I was previously given a tour around the place and it seemed fine as you get to see everything so the bigger picture remains in memory. In reality though when she was actually put in there, the room they have picked for babies is a very small compact space with little windows so not very bright and a very rough carpet (office carpet), which is suitable to walk on with shoes no but NOT for babies who crawl on it and are prone to accidents. Day 1: My baby took a fall and gave herself a carpet burn, we did speak to the nursery manager and owner and they promised they will change it which never happened during the few months my baby was there. Furthermore, the activities laid out for babies during the day were minimal and not very varied so I felt my baby was not very happy there.
