View Full Details of Priory Poppets NurseryWe are very glad that our daughter started her first steps into the world of letters and reading in Priory. The teachers are very kind, committed and attentive to the kids' needs and progress. Also, the head of school is also prompt to hear from the parents, which is very important for us. Thanks, Priory!
Our daughter loves to go to nursery every day and she developed so much with the care and support from her teachers in the room. A couple of things I would recommend to improve would be meals and snacks - could have some more healthier choices. The facility is slightly dated.
We have always had a fantastic experience with Priory Poppets with both of our children. The staff were particularly attentive when the children started and I felt reassured at the natural bonds both the children made with their key workers. Poppets have encouraged the development of both children with their different personalities and interests at the different stages with the variety of experiences the children have had, from day-to-day learning activities to additional ones e.g. Forest SchoolTennis, Bhangra Tots and Glowbugs to mention just a few. Both children have always been happy and well cared for emotionally and flourished in the nurturing environment of Priory Poppets. Staff have always been responsive to any requests and have been very pro-natural term breastfeeding which has meant so much to us. We would highly recommend Priory Poppets as a nursery for your child.
We couldn't be happier with our experience at Priory Poppets. From the moment we enrolled our child, we felt welcomed and reassured. The staff is incredibly caring, attentive, and professional, always going the extra mile to ensure that every child feels safe, happy, and engaged. The learning environment is both nurturing and stimulating, filled with a variety of activities that keep our little one excited to go to nursery every day. We've noticed significant growth in our child's social skills, confidence, and enthusiasm for learning. The communication between the nursery and parents is excellent, with regular updates on our child's progress, upcoming events, and daily activities. We truly appreciate how much effort the team puts into creating a warm and inclusive community. We highly recommend Priory Poppets to any parent looking for a loving and enriching environment for their child. It's a wonderful place that feels like a second home.
My younger son has just completed his time in Priory Poppets and will be moving into Priory Prep in September. He has enjoyed his time in nursery and has loved every day. Priory helped settle him into his new routine following his adoption into our family and they played a huge part in making him feel safe, secure and loved. We chose Priory for our first son (also adopted) as they had a reputation for looking after the pastoral side of the children and not purely being an institution to push passing entrance exams (though I hasten to add that my eldest aced all of his entrance exams without the need for additional tuition). With this success both pastorally and academically, it is a no-brainer that we now continue there with our youngest, and so far it has been the right choice.
I'm a parent to 2 children in Priory Poppets and I can't recommend this amazing nursery highly enough. The nursery staff are excellent and have an intimate knowledge of every child and their needs. They have wonderful, picturesque and extensive grounds with their own forest area which they utilise in their weekly forest school sessions. They provide a very wide variety of activities and both of my children love coming to nursery every morning. They have access to the Edgbaston Priory Club for indoor swimming sessions, and if they choose to transition to the senior school the use of a world-class tennis centre. They also have 51 week aftercare provision which has been invaluable to us.
Overall, the school and teachers have had a very positive impact on our child. 1. Teachers encouraged discipline, good behaviour and healthy eating. 2. Our child learned various skills in addition to the academic curriculum. 3. The school environment is friendly and conducive to the child's overall development. 4. Forest School, library days and sports participation have enabled our child to progress very well in terms of a variety of skills. 5. My child loves his school. The staff has been very friendly to children and parents and went to great lengths to ensure academic learning and extracurricular activities. Special thanks to our nursery teachers. Two staff in particular have provided great support at the start and throughout the year. Thank you so much for helping my child start his new journey. We are so grateful.
My child has been attending the Priory since he was 9 months old and is now almost 2! He has made huge progress in his development and this is down to the staff, not even I can take credit for this being a teacher myself! He is loved and cared for and is always happy when we drop and collect him. The staff are approachable and very supportive.
I am incredibly grateful for the wonderful care my son received. The staff is truly exceptional - kind, attentive, and dedicated to providing a nurturing environment. My son thrived under their guidance, developing both socially and academically. The facilities are clean, safe, and equipped with engaging activities that keep my son excited to attend every day. The curriculum is well-rounded, fostering creativity, learning, and play in perfect balance. Communication with parents is excellent, and I always felt informed and involved in my son's progress. I highly recommend Poppet Priory to any parent seeking a supportive and enriching place for their child. Thank you for taking such great care of my son!
Our little one started Priory Poppets Nursery & joined the baby room in June 2024. After naturally feeling nervous about leaving our little one for the first time, we felt assured and built confidence in the staff very quickly. All the teachers and nursery staff looking after our baby are lovely, and friendly and have gone that extra mile to look after our baby being very emotionally supportive where needed but also giving the space for our baby to explore and build their confidence. Over the past 2 months, our little one has been with Priory Poppets, we have seen our baby's confidence grow, is able to settle quickly with any of the nursery staff, walking around with ease & enjoying the daily nursery activities from bouncing castles to arts and crafts. In addition, we often get picture updates of our baby, can call whenever we like and felt as ease during the settling-in sessions as naturally nervous parents. Thank you to all the staff so far in helping our baby flourish!
My daughter began Priory Poppets in April 2024 and has thrived since beginning there. She has grown in confidence and is always so happy and excited to attend each morning. The staff are so welcoming and caring, really putting the children at the heart of everything they do. They provide a range of daily activities to help develop the whole child and feedback is given daily. Themed weeks form part of their curriculum and my daughter will often come home with art work or photographs, which are wonderful to see. They also often have visitors in, such as Baby Glowbugs, to enhance their curriculum even further. The grounds of the school are wonderful and the children will often go on learning walks outside or visit the Poppets Forest School area. I can't thank the Poppets staff enough for how well my daughter has transitioned into nursery life and I look forward to her continuing her Priory journey with such amazing teachers.
The staff always go above and beyond to create a nurturing environment, filled with creative activities and engaging lessons. The school places a strong emphasis on both academic growth and personal development, ensuring that each child feels valued and supported. We've seen remarkable progress in our children's confidence and abilities. Priory Poppets truly feels like an extended family, and we couldn't be happier with our choice. The staff are attentive and compassionate, ensuring that each child feels valued and supported. The facilities are fab, with spacious play areas, well-equipped classrooms, and a beautiful outdoor space where children can explore and learn about nature. The curriculum is thoughtfully designed to balance academic learning with creative play, fostering both intellectual and emotional development. They provide a range of activities for the children, from music and art to sports and language classes, providing a well-rounded experience for our children.
Poppets is attached to a school, located next to congested roads and a busy roundabout, where the speed limit is 30 and traffic is an absolute nightmare. Parking is also very difficult. Visibility is poor upon exiting the car park. T&C's - You must give a full term's notice to withdraw your child. So in our case, that would have meant, that we would have had to pay £4995 for the term, if we decided to withdraw, whereas Poppets can ask us to leave at any time they like, if they feel like their staff can no longer support our children, due to some minor additional needs (e.g feeding assistance, mobility assistance, speech delay). Poppets is not suitable for toddlers with additional needs. We were told that we may be better off sending our children to a Montessori Nursery, as Poppets is too structured for them. There is an EY SENCo on site and if you ever have the misfortune of being in the room with her, as well as the Nursery manager, then most probably, your child's days at Poppets will be numbered.
My two children are currently at Priory School, one in Poppets Nursery and one in reception. I cannot thank the team of staff enough for the love, care and guidance they have given my boys. By learning through play, the children receive lessons in French, music, public speaking in addition to literacy and numeracy. The school has been rated as 'outstanding' by Ofsted in their past two inspections - a well-deserved accolade. The Priory Nursery is a happy family where children are genuinely happy to come to school. We couldn't ask for more!
Fantastic place - beautiful grounds used for forest school and looking after chickens, caring atmosphere. Helped us through toddler behaviour things in a non judgmental way. Toddlers do French and music with specialists but totally at their level. A family atmosphere - our son is so happy there. Really the best thing is the smashing out door facilities. Fresh fruit and veg all day - the only thing they don't do is promote themselves well enough!
