View Full Details of St George's Nursery (Meridian)A lovely nursery, the staff are fantastic, especially one staff member in particular. They keep you updated on what the children are doing, the food is great and we get some lovely photos. We would highly recommend this nursery.
A fantastic nursery! I was so nervous to leave my 8-month-old at nursery to start back at work. However I had nothing to worry about. St George's is a lovely and welcoming nursery and she settled in straight away. The baby room is a good size compared to other nurseries and has just been redecorated but the displays could do with updating. There is an app which lets you see updates on food sleep milk etc. My daughter takes part in a range of activities each day and sometimes photos are sent to update you in the day so you can see what they're doing. The food is varied and she enjoys/eats it all which is great. She has made a really nice bond with her key worker and absolutely loves going to nursery. They arrange days where family members can go into the nursery for a few hours to stay and play. You are updated on pick-up in person about their day and the baby's key worker brings them out to meet you. Thank you all at St George's for a great start to nursery.
Our daughter started when she was around 10 months old. I was quite nervous to leave her with someone else but I can happily say that I have complete confidence in the staff at St George's in Meridian. They are absolutely fantastic with my daughter- she's never upset being dropped off and genuinely seems sad to leave at the end of the day, she's had that good a time there! Their communication is excellent, including for our child's numerous dietary restrictions. We can't thank them enough for all they do for our daughter and how much she's flourishing as a result of being in their care.
The nursery had a fantastic fun day raising money for an amazing charity and also celebrating 30 years of St George's Nursery. The staff are lovely and caring especially two members of staff in particular and the pre-school staff. They bring in different professionals (police, fire brigade etc.) to meet the children, which is a really fun and educational activity for the children, mine loved it. I can see that they are really trying to be more inclusive and help the children to be ready for school. Keep up the good work.
St George’s Nursery, many thanks from the heart for our Mother’s Day afternoon yesterday. It was lovely to spend the afternoon with the children. Honestly, the activities you have been introducing, making us a part of the children’s development have been an outstanding experience for me. The joy the children have when they see us and the way they show us what they do during the day is really good. You can see from their body language that they are happy and this shows how the nursery is making everyday a fun learning and safe environment for them. Thank you to you all for your hard work, love, dedication and patience with the children. I applaud you for taking the time to plan all these activities that are children and parent-centred. Not all heroes wear caps. Looking forward to many more family activities.
The nursery takes great care and attention to create an environment the little ones will love. My daughter currently only goes once a week and one week they did an activity that she would have loved on a day she wasn't there - once the manager realised this, she reached out personally to find out more about what kind of themes and activities my little one would love and has been working these into her session. My daughter comes home singing about her friends and reciting the exciting things she does throughout the day. The manager has also been great at supporting parents getting the incoming funding changes and regularly the nursery puts on sessions for parents and carers to get involved.
My daughter loves going to nursery and misses it if she's not there! Her confidence with other people and children has improved so much since she started and she loves all the activities the nursery has to offer. We love coming to the open days and family activities which provide a lovely link between home and nursery for her. We would definitely recommend St Georges.
Me and my mum attended the nursery in December for a “cookie morning” where we helped my son make shortbread cookies. A lot of parents attended and the efficiency was spot on. We were asked to hand our phones in for safeguarding and then sent inside to our children. The shortbread ingredients were laid out neatly and we had to follow the instructions. We were given cookie cutters to choose from and make as many cookies as we could. Once we were done, we were able to play with our children for a short while. Really happy with the overall activity.
The staff at the nursery are very attentive and have been very accommodating when needing child care cover last minute. They have a variety of different food they offer the children, which I believe my child really enjoys. I have no issues with this nursery and am glad I sent my child there.
We couldn't be happier with St George's, I feel like our nearly 4 year old is learning so much and is being prepared for school. Allow the staff there are warm, welcoming, kind and care deeply for the children. They are very inclusive of all religions, cultures and have shown outstanding consideration to us being vegan. Our little one loves going. We love going to the stay and plays too.
My grandson has come on leaps and bounds since attending the nursery. He is learning so much and his vocabulary improves weekly. The activities are fabulous with a recent venture to look for sticks - related to a story and the concert was great fun.
My daughter has been attending since June 2023, as soon as I entered I felt it was a warm and family orientated environment and it is a safe environment for her, the staff are friendly and give the upmost care to the children, and my daughter has thrived since attending, so I would recommend this nursery.
My grandson loves attending St. George's. The staff are brilliant, and we are so much happier with the standards of care since St. George's took over! Thank you for looking after our little boy so well.
The changes/takeover by St George's Nursery have been disruptive and my children have found it very unsettling. Many of the staff they liked have left and those bonds are so important at ages 2-4. I have a high opinion of the previous owner's original team and management but don't yet have a relationship with St George's staff. My children are both less happy now than they were before the takeover and it's difficult trying to get them to nursery now which it wasn't under the previous owners. Disappointed. I would like to add that I was very disappointed that no effort was made this year to celebrate Chinese New Year. We are not Chinese but my daughter loved the occasion when the previous owners celebrated last year and it helps us to teach our children to enjoy and respect our differences and learn how to be friends with people who are different to us. I hope more effort is made to mark the different religious and cultural events that our vibrant city celebrates. Also, please reduce costume events at nursery. The cost can become too much. Also, please be aware that some parents work and have to pay you to look after their child in order to go to work. Please don't have events in the day when A) have to pay for your time and B) have to use annual leave. It isn't fair for some children not to have parents come in and then feel left out/abandoned. Thank you.
My son is absolutely flourishing here! We have had a lovely Mother's Day stay and play session and have had lots of fun dressing up in pyjamas and red clothes for Red Nose Day.
Some learning was observed in preschool. The toddler room is relaxed. A lot of snagging issues with change of management. Overall cleanliness is more than expected. Children enjoy the food and toys/activities. Staff are always caring. Good value for money. Would recommend it to friends and family.
My grandson seems to really enjoy nursery, and he is clearly making good progress.
I have found since the nursery has been taken over I have been kept up to date. Do miss the pictures and would like my son to have more fruit but overall I feel he has become more confident and loves attending. He seems to be learning every time. Feel like his speech is coming along. Thank you.
My children have been coming here for just over a year. In that time, the nursery has undergone stunning renovation and looks beautiful! There's such an amazing atmosphere, the staff are brilliant and the children love it and are flourishing. 100% recommended.
I'm so pleased I found this nursery. My daughter loves it and has really grown in confidence. The staff are lovely and genuinely care for the children's wellbeing. Every time I go in, the children are always so engaged and happy. Highly recommend them to everyone.
