View Full Details of Footsteps Day Nursery (Chingford)My granddaughter started at Footsteps when she was still in nappies. My daughter-in-law and I were very impressed with how clean the whole nursery was and the friendliness of the staff. As she progressed through to the pre-school, I remained extremely happy with the level of care, the quality of the food and all she was taught, ready for school. The graduation was the icing on the cake, a wonderful end. Many, many thanks.
My son attended this nursery for 18 months prior to starting school. Staff were helpful and caring towards children without being overbearing and let them be independent. Food choices were good and were adapted for my son when he wasn't keen on something. He made great friends at the nursery too which we have kept in touch. I will be enquiring for my next child as was pleased with the care and facilities overall. Focus on learning appeared mainly to be in science and maths the only criticism I have is maybe some more work into writing before school but from a nurturing standpoint, we couldn't have asked for more. The staff make amazing efforts for all events like Halloween, Christmas, Easter etc and my son had so much fun at all the parties and loved celebrating with his friends. Graduation was great and I know my son will miss Footsteps!
Very unprofessional staff and nursery manager. My daughter had a traumatic settling experience due to an incident with a boy at the toilet that had happened at nursery. We advised that she is not potty trained and should not go to the toilet unassisted. Despite that, she must have been sent to the toilet alone as she has been pushed in the toilet by a boy and smudged in poo. We didn’t find out initially and certainly nothing was mentioned to us. She was scared to go and was constantly begging us to not take her there since. I discussed that she is too upset with the staff and tried to contact the manager a few times to see if we can extend the settling period. No one came back to us and we decided eventually to change the nursery. She told us about the incident recently and we are confident that this is true as she retold it a few times. We understand that an incident can happen but it should not be ignored and hidden from the parents especially when we could see she is distraught.
