View Full Details of Jesters Day Nursery & Pre-School BicknacreOur son joined Jesters Day Nursery and Pre-School Bicknacre in November 2024, and we've all been made to feel so welcome. Great communication on how he's been settling in, detailed updates on the app, and lovely to know he's experiencing a variety of activities/food/socialising. Thank you!
Fantastic 'Come and see my Classroom' event held at Jesters this evening. Beautiful setting, professional staff and amazing campfire led by a professional forest school educator. So lovely to see the nursery fully set up with the lovely activities and staff around to speak with about anything, at drop off and pick up we collect from outside so it's perfect having the opportunity to 'go inside' on this event and similar, and see where they play and learn. Really enjoyed the homely feel in the Baby Cottage and the role play hospital in the Squirrels room. Delicious food on offer which is the same provided to the children! Lovely autumnal evening followed by toasting a marshmallow!
For the last three and a half years my daughter has attended Jesters Bicknacre and Preschool at Danbury. From her first steps to learning phonics, Jesters has been the most amazing place which will hold a special place in our hearts forever. Not only do Jesters do everything they can to ensure the children are thriving and meeting the criteria for their age, they get so many real-life experiences - going on the bus, and visits from a dentist, picnics at the parks and much more! We could not have asked for anything more out of a nursery.
My daughter loves going to Jesters at Bicknacre. She attends 2 days a week and is thriving. The staff are amazing. The girls in her room have already built a great bond with her and she loves them. My daughter suffers from multiple allergies and they have handled this well and provided an alternative suited for her. We love the fact her Nursery has a wonderful outdoor area and they use it in all weathers. They have made my transition to being a first-time working mum a wonderful, seamless one. We love being part of the Jesters Family.
Our Child has attended Jesters for several years - it is a great setting with exceptional staff. They have been very happy there and made several friends. Bolt-on hours at either end of the day fit well around work. Very much recommended.
My son is absolutely thriving at Jesters Day Nursery & Pre-School after being there for a couple of months! The girls in the baby cottage are so lovely and have a great bond with him. It's also so lovely to get the updates of what he's been doing throughout the day via the app. What sold it to me was the large outside area for the children as my son loves being outside, no matter what weather. It's not easy to leave your baby with someone else but the staff at Jesters has made the transition so much easier and smoother, there's a real family feel there.
Wonderful nursery with exceptional staff! My baby girl is thriving at Jesters. She loves every single day there! She's come along in leaps and bounds since she started (in January). She's grown in independence and confidence. Her language skills are developing fast: she's using (and trying to say) more words, and her vocabulary is widening. Her days are both fun-filled and educational. This is thanks to the phenomenal team of highly skilled practitioners. I don't have the words to describe the dedication, warmth, positivity and thoughtfulness of this team. They've exceeded my expectations in every way! Communications with parents are excellent (in person, via the app, over the phone). The team has gone above and beyond to welcome and support us (e.g. with settling in). We feel like family. My baby girl clearly feels loved and well cared for. Her bonds with staff are strong. This is a special nursery in many ways. But for me, the staff make the setting, and here the staff are truly outstanding.
My son loves his days at Jesters Day Nursery and I am really pleased with how he is cared for. There is a real family feel to the whole setting and everyone is incredibly helpful. I would highly recommend it to anyone looking for a nursery place.
My daughter started at Jesters in October 2022 at 9 months old, and I could not have wished for her to have had a better start! She has settled in so quickly and made so much progress, and I know that is down to the hard work and amount of care from the staff. They were more than happy to follow our home routines and give regular contact throughout the day through the app, and at drop off and collection, they always update us on how her day has been! She has never been upset or worried to go in - she even cheers when she realises we are in the car park! I couldn't recommend Jesters enough - I feel incredibly lucky to have found such a lovely nursery for my daughter!
My son has been at Jesters now for nearly 9 months and I am very satisfied with the way he is cared for. We are all protective of our children and I feel he is really looked after here and most importantly safe. His development is logged via the app so we are updated constantly which in modern times is extremely helpful. I must say a particular thank you to my son's key person at Jesters as our son seems to have created a special bond with her and it seems she is genuinely interested in his development which is nice to see as a parent. All the staff are great and we are always greeted with a smile. Looking after children is a tough task and I am thankful that we have found a place like Jesters that do it so well.
Jesters Day Nursery & Pre-School Bicknacre is a wonderful environment for our son. Since he started, the staff have been so nurturing and really went the extra mile to help him settle in. The nursery setting feels like a home from home, and we couldn't be happier. We would highly recommend Jesters.
My daughter started this nursery in July 2020 when the nursery re-opened following Covid. I was really apprehensive as she was very upset leaving me and had been nicely settled in her previous nursery, but the staff worked really well to make sure she was settled and adjusted and kept in contact with me, so I knew she was okay once I had left. The communication on the apps is great - and something I never had with my son at his previous nursery - so this was a huge plus to me when we moved her here as it is great to be able to see what she has been doing all day and what she has eaten. She absolutely loves coming to nursery and seeing her friends, as well as the teachers, and they have helped so much with starting to be ready to go to school, and she will be sad to leave in August. Thank you to all of the team, and will always recommend you to any friends if they are looking for a nursery.
My wife and I couldn’t be happier with Jesters. It’s a lovely small nursery with small numbers of children, and the outdoor space is wonderful. We actually drive quite a distance for our son to attend Jesters. We’ve been able to have conversations with staff around our son’s learning plan, and he has a lovely relationship with not only his key worker but the other staff too. He always comes home telling us about what he did and showing us the yoga moves he has learned. The menus there seem to be really nutritious and so varied. Our son has been at Jesters since the end of 2020, and all through Covid restrictions and requirements, I feel it was managed really well.
Our daughter is very happy at Jesters. She has been going since she was a baby and is going to school next term. Our other baby is going there too into the new baby room. The staff are fantastic, and we have never had any problems which makes us feel safe that our child is very well cared for and learning lots of new things every day. The nursery buildings are lovely, and it's just like a children's village as all the buildings are around big central gardens next to fields, so they get to play out in the fresh air every day in a safe and natural environment.
Unfortunately, I have just removed both of my children from Jesters. Their standards have fallen below what I deem acceptable, especially in relation to the fees being charged. There have been several staffing changes which have meant that at one point my daughter had 5 different 'key workers' in just 5 months. Since we joined in August 2020, only 3 staff members remain. Moreover, I do not feel the staff considered my son's needs when changing his key worker just 3 months before he is due to start school. The teachers work hard and we have been appreciative of their individual efforts. There is a good variety of food offered but this has been inconsistent over time. The car park is a nightmare at drop-off and pick-up times. My experience with the management (both senior and at the setting level) has been poor. I tried to stick with the nursery as long as I could because the idea of changing was overwhelming but I wish we had left months ago. There is much better out there.
Our daughter has been attending Jesters Day Nursery since November 2021, and we couldn't be happier with our decision. I was really apprehensive initially, but our daughter has settled in so well and enjoys her time there. She is always happy at drop off and collections and loves her nursery teacher. The baby nook is a fantastic space, and they have a wonderful outdoor area. All the staff are so kind and caring, which makes it that little bit easier knowing they are so well looked after. Our daughter's confidence has come on leaps and bounds since starting, which is amazing to see. We couldn't recommend Jesters more!
My son moved midterm from another preschool to Jesters just over a month ago. It was a daunting time for us both, I didn’t know if I was doing the right thing moving him, but I didn’t have a lot of choice due to work. He was quite upset to start with, and I was worried he wouldn’t settle. How wrong was I! After the first week, he loves it! He comes home and tells me he loves pre-school, he loves the ladies and his little friends. He has a great time, he comes back full of stories, and I enjoy catching up on his day via the app. I’d heard good things locally about Jesters, and it's 100% worth the money - if you considering Jesters for your child’s daycare, my advice is to go for it. They’re wonderful.
Our daughter joined Jesters Pre-School in September 2021. We're extremely happy with her progress and can't recommend them enough. The staff are all really friendly, go out of their way to support families and are brilliant with the children. They take part in loads of different activities each day, like art and crafts and fun educational games - the list is endless. The fantastic outdoor space was also a big positive for us because our little girl loves being outdoors. She always comes out with a big smile on her face, which is lovely to see. I also like the fact that they can get my little girl to try different foods as she can be fussy. Highly recommend! Thank you!
Our little girl can't wait to go to nursery every morning. Her development continues to come on in leaps and bounds, and all the staff are very caring and engaging. We could not have hoped for a better nursery than we have at Jesters Bicknacre.
Our daughter joined Jesters pre-school in September 2021, and our son attends the out of school club at the same site. We're extremely happy with both and can't recommend them enough. The staff are all really friendly, go out of their way to support families and are brilliant with the children. They take part in various activities each day, such as art and crafts, cooking, learning about cultural events, and fun educational games - the list is endless.
