View Full Details of Fennies Woking, Carlton RoadIt's been absolutely fantastic. So warm and welcoming and my son has settled in amazingly well and he absolutely loves it.
The team at Fennies Woking have all been amazing and so welcoming. I trust that my daughter is in good hands. Her key worker has been so friendly and thorough. I appreciate her honesty when she tells me how my daughter is settling in. The team were quick to identify "triggers" which make my baby upset and find new and interesting things to help calm her. But, the thing I've been impressed with most is that you've managed to get my daughter to nap - even we struggle at home. Can't wait to see how much my baby will grow here.
I am very happy with Fennies - The Manager and team have been amazing in overseeing the turnaround and have worked hard to get to the Ofstead rating they truly deserve. The rooms are lovely and the large garden space is currently having a refresh. The care, fun and development shown by all of the team and also the reassurance/guidance for me as a first-time mum have been so appreciated. Our son has gained so much in terms of confidence, experience, and vocabulary and as much as he will miss his "teachers" and friends, he has been given a fantastic start to his school journey. He is always talking about his key worker and can't wait to get inside for more fun. Weekend special events are a great extra and for kids to show us all their favourite activities. The app is great offering real-time updates and the daily photos/updates on what they have been up to are a delight to read - also helps decode some of the stories on the way home! We will miss you all!
We have had an extremely happy time at Fennies Woking, and have always felt that our son has been very well looked after and cared for. The staff have been fantastic, there is a lot of love and support provided.
Very disappointing behaviour overall, extremely poor management, stretched staff and not up-to-standard care. We have taken our child out of this nursery after realising that the only good thing about it was the setting. Even though there were teachers there who put the effort in, the crux of the matter is that there were way too many children and as a result, they were not properly looked after. We've picked our child up dirty, injured and on many occasions waiting for the staff to find him in the class, as he was out of sight completely. He developed the habit of biting his nails during his stay at the nursery, his bottom would be unwiped and sore and upon him leaving the nursery we haven't received his final assessment for our records, even though I asked for it twice in the following 3 months of his departure. I would avoid it. It's unnecessarily expensive and poorly managed, and all the good teachers eventually left, as well as lots of other children in my son's class.
Overall, we are very satisfied with our experience at Fennies Nursery. Once our child settled in, he became excited when he entered the room, which shows how well he is cared for and how safe he feels. The staff has been wonderful, and Fennies Nursery does an excellent job updating the app with photos and details about his activities, meals, and even how often he is changed. The key person assigned to our child keeps us informed about his development and is always available to discuss any concerns. We would have continued to stay if we weren't moving out of Woking. Highly recommend!
We moved our two children to the nursery in January after moving to the area. The nursery were really supportive in arranging the transition for us. We were really worried about how the children would settle but we shouldn’t have, they love it there. They run into their rooms first thing in the morning which is a testament to how comfortable they feel in such a short space of time. They are both thriving, every day they do different activities and learn about new things that they are excited to come home and talk about. The outdoor space is huge! The app they use is great, so many photos and great communication about what the children are up to! It is expensive compared to others but I think you definitely get what you pay for.
Both our sons have been through Fennies, from the baby room to toddlers. Our oldest is now at school and our youngest is only leaving because we are moving overseas. We have been proud Fennies parents, grateful for the care and creativity that our sons have experienced. The staff have all been wonderful. Our sons have been happy to go to nursery, excited to see staff and friends, and they have built relationships of support and learning that have given them such a great start to their experience of education. We will miss everyone at Fennies very much.
Fennies Nursery Woking has always exceeded in delivering a tailored experience for my son and has been supporting him through his developmental milestones, from sitting up unaided to weaning. The staff in the explorer's room have played a key part in this and are a credit to the nursery.
As an aunt that regularly picks up from the nursery and has done so over the past 2+ years, Fennies Woking has seen incredible improvements over the last year or so since the new manager joined the nursery. There has been such a turnaround in the nursery and we can't thank her enough for the care she has for the children, staff and parents. You can see the work that has been put in since their Ofsted report and the difference. We're so glad we kept our faith in the nursery to see how far it came. We can't wait to see our son flourish in their environment.
We have used Fennies since summer 2021. In 2023 a new manager was introduced who has since made many excellent improvements to the setting. The staff are caring and fun which is evident in our daily chats with them, but most importantly in how much our child enjoys their time there, and always has. The teaching has been excellent. Upon leaving the baby room at 19 months old, our child could do all of the colours, all of the shapes, and count to ten. In pre-school, they enjoy daily science experiments, painting and sometimes even baking! Facilities are fabulous with high ceilings, large open plan spaces and airy rooms filled with light. The garden is well designed and so much fun, with toddlers and pre-schoolers able to flow freely from inside to outside. Food allergies have been carefully catered for by the wonderful chef, and the rigour around this has resulted in no reactions for our child. Fennies Woking is bursting with energy and joy. I would recommend it.
My eldest child started at Fennies in March 2021 at 14 months and left in September 2023 to go to the preschool attached to the school she will be attending. My youngest has been at Fennies since January 2023 and is still attending. My eldest loved her time at Fennies and has wonderful memories from there. I could always tell how much fun she was having by the pictures that were posted of her involved in so many activities. My youngest also loves going in and gets excited when we pull up outside. I know she is in safe, capable hands (currently in the toddler room) and she has developed so much since joining in January. I credit the staff for this and cannot thank them enough. The girls in those rooms do a wonderful job day in, day out and make the days full of fun in a caring environment.
We had 2 Inadequate ratings from the Ofsted followed by a Required Improvement in spring 2023. The setting feels very unorganised and oversubscribed and they keep losing experienced staff. There are a lot of kids and I feel sometimes they are not properly looked after. I was once handed my child at the end of the day with a temperature of 40 and no one at the nursery noticed. Recently my child was grabbed by another child, lost balance and hit a wooden surface with his teeth. His front tooth is now dead and again I don't believe the care on the day in the garden was sufficient to stop this. They have now decided to increase the fees despite their own promise only to do it once they get a Good rating again. We only found out from a parent's chat group as no proper comms were issued. Parents had to chase, received very unclear replies, and the head office keep deleting our comments on the topic and even deleted their own post about this on the Family app. Unbelievable and very disappointed - avoid!
Our daughter attended Fennies from 12 months old to nearly 36 months of age. We only left as we moved home to another county. Fennies were amazing with us and our daughter. Our daughter needed a little bit of extra support when she was younger, but Fennies were absolutely great with this extra workload and the training required to support her. They never made us feel like a burden and were eager to help. The staff were amazing with us. They were happy to go the extra mile and you could see that they genuinely cared for our child. Our daughter also really enjoyed her time at Fennies and clearly made strong bonds with the staff and some of the other kids. Overall, we think our daughter was well looked after, by people who took the job seriously and cared about the kids. I absolutely recommend Fennies and wish them all the best for the future.
Our children joined Fennies Woking in Summer 2020 at approx 16 months old. We decided to go with Fennies based on their approaches and wonderful garden space. Our experience within the baby room (up to 22/24 months) at Fennies was wonderful. The staff was warm and attentive and we never got the impression that the room was stretched in terms of capacity or supervision. At approximately 22 months our children moved down to the toddler room. The service received in the toddler room was considerably worse than that received in the baby room. Staff seemed stretched, overworked, and undersupported. During 2021 it feels as though there has been a considerable turnover of staff at the nursery and an increasing number of children leaving the nursery too. We pulled our children out of Fennies in November 2021 due to the poor service received in the toddler room. The final straw was our daughter returning from nursery with a chunk of her hair missing and no real explanation from the nursery.
After viewing a few nurseries in the Woking area, this one stood out above the rest for it’s homely feel. My wife and I have not been disappointed, the staff are excellent, my daughter eats better than I do, and she has so much fun!
Fennies Woking has been an excellent nursery for us. We moved from another nursery to Fennies when my son was 3 and a half years old. Comparing the previous nursery with a similar price range (slightly lower than Fennies), I could easily see the huge gap of the quality of childcare and manager’s managing skills. We can see the timely updates of the daily activity with photos. The manager’s reply has been very quick. Not only the huge variety of activities (PE and crafts), my son’s key person has been very good (actually excellent!) at caring for children's emotional development. My son couldn’t talk much when he joined Fennies, but Fennies supported his development very much. He (4 and a half years old) is now talking about a lot of topics, including planets, dinosaurs, numbers, shapes, baking, paintings, plants, his feelings, his friends’ feelings, etc. I will recommend Fennies Woking definitely. Thanks.
We are very happy with Fennies in Woking and our daughter absolutely loves going there. The carers are all incredibly nice. The space is great and they play outside in the garden every day. The day is packed with activities from all different learning areas and very entertaining. The food menu is outstanding, our little one often has seconds as she enjoys it so much. As a parent, you get all details of the day in the care diary and development updates and can also use it to communicate with the staff which is fantastic. The only downside is that our daughter was assigned to 4 different key persons in 9 months and that it’s quite pricey. Overall we can highly recommend Fennies.
My son has attended Fennies Woking since 2019 and has enjoyed it from the very start. The staff are caring and attentive, the setup is exciting and uplifting and the nutritious food cooked by the in-house chef is top class! I highly recommend this nursery.
Both my Children attend Fennies Woking and they love it! They rave about their teachers and how much they love their friends. They enjoy all the playtime activities and are thrilled to show me what they have made each day such as baked goods and artwork.
