View Full Details of The Maples Day NurseryMy daughter had been with this nursery from January 2021 till early June 2021. She absolutely loved it here, the curiosity approach suited her, and she came into her own and completely blossomed at The Maples. The nursery is amazing, connected to the stunning Winterbourne Gardens, there is ample space for the kids to play and have many adventures. Staff members were absolutely wonderful with her and will be terribly missed by her. I highly recommend this nursery.
Our daughter has been attending The Maples since March and has been extremely happy there. Her key workers are a big part of her life and work hard to stimulate and engage her in addition to caring for her. The children spend a lot of time outside during the warmer months, in gardens and the nursery grounds. The nursery is flexible with adhoc extra days and gives lots of notice of any changes to the calendar.
The Maples is such a lovely, peaceful environment, with lots of opportunities for exploring and playing. Our little girl has really thrived there - she has made friends, grown in confidence and bonded brilliantly with her key worker. They have got to know her as an individual and she has really found her feet.
My young son has been attending Maples Nursery since it opened in February 2019. I cannot speak highly enough of all the team at Maples and the exceptional care and facilities that they offer under the leadership of the manager. However, I wish to focus this review around the team of nursery carers that have looked after my son for the past 18-months. The carers in Bluebells and Buttercups (and in catering) have been absolutely fantastic in their care and affection for my son. Their attention to detail, their patience with the children, the dedication and commitment that they bring to their roles, in my experience, is second to none. Importantly this care and attention translate directly into the learning and creative environment that they empower, and the result is a child that is inspired, articulate and happy. There has never been one morning that my son has not run into the nursery.
Outstanding nursery. Such a child-centred, safe and nurturing environment. My son has been encouraged to explore new sensory experiences, build his physical strength and skills and enjoy beautiful social interactions as relationships develop. The staff are warm, inviting and child-centred. Incredibly professional whilst still affectionate and emotionally connected. Each member of the team has celebrated the growth in his character, enjoying him and encouraging us as a family. The curiosity approach and environmentally friendly ethos is engrained in this lovely nursery. This can only be improved as they implement their emotion coaching training which they invested in this year. We could not recommend them more highly.
My daughter has bloomed at the nursery. She is growing into a strong, independent, free-thinking child. We put much of this down to the care and attention she has received at the nursery. Excellent teachers and well-organised management.
Love this nursery and highly recommend it to everyone. My daughter started here just 3 months ago and has come on leaps and bounds. We are very impressed with the development of her speech and confidence in this time. Considering she was only one and a half and had never been to a nursery of any type before she settled in very quickly. She loves going to nursery and happily waves me goodbye every morning. The staff are great, very friendly, caring and have been very accommodating.
So far I'm very happy with this nursery. I'd highlight two parts: One, their approach to education based on following the curiosity of the children and supporting them in their own interests (Curiosity Approach) and two, the fact that they take the children to a nearby garden called Winterborne. The aspect that I think could be improved is the food. I think they should make it healthier, and help the children to eat more vegetables.
Our son has attended The Maples since February 2018, shortly after it opened. We could not be happier with The Maples and how our son has developed since starting. He had previously been unhappy at another nursery and we were keen to move him for the remainder of his pre-school years. The curiosity approach has been a real breath of fresh air and has suited our son and our family perfectly. The setting is not only beautiful to look at (very different to most other nurseries we’ve visited) but is cosy and inviting, which is all part of the nurturing environment that has been created at The Maples. The regular access to local Gardens is amazing and the icing on the cake, our son particularly loves going there for forest school. Our son has come on leaps and bounds since starting at The Maples, he has grown in confidence and is a happy settled little boy who loves to learn. We couldn’t ask for any more from a nursery setting and we would recommend to anyone.
My daughter has attended the nursery since it was opened (Feb 2019). Staff are all enthusiastic and helpful, they do a lot of activities focused on the curiosity approach. The facilities are great both inside and outside, including the possibility to do forest school in Winterbourne Garden. My daughter loves to run around in contact with nature, especially checking the plants. They do a lot of fun activities. She has a great relationship there and feels incredibly secure and she is very happy. I really recommend The Maples Day Nursery.
My daughter loves Maples, since day 1 she enjoyed staying there. She is in close contact with nature and learned lots of different skills. For example, she lives with all her senses; seeing, hearing, smelling and touching - all that she learned in her nursery to appreciate and live fully. She loves the open plan of the playing areas, spacious, clean and modern. She also likes the nursery's food. Her teachers are caring and nice. The management is very kind, understanding and accommodating. We also like the eco-friendly ethos of the Maples, no plastic!
As parents that are new to the UK, finding a loving, caring and thoughtful Nursery was challenging. When we met with the staff at Maples, we knew we had found the right place the minute we stepped into the doors. The staff are so wonderful, they are kind and friendly and treat our little boy with love. It’s really all we ever dreamed of. To top off the wonderful staff, the classrooms are beautiful and child-friendly. Our fussy little eater also loves the food! We just cannot be happier that we have found a home away from home for him. The ultimate surprise for us really is the access to Winterborne Gardens, it’s their little piece of heaven. He comes home and tells me all about his ‘school garden’ and his vegetables that he planted. How much they have grown and he gets to water them! It’s really something special watching your child grow and be nurtured by people who really care for him.
We have a very positive experience at The Maples. Our daughter moved from another nursery and the staff made the transition seamless; they provided comfort, reassurance and security to my daughter during a difficult time for her. The staff were so incredibly understanding of both her feelings and mine as a parent too. She has flourished since she has been at The Maples in so many ways; she has become more independent and more physical than she ever has before; she adores Winterbourne Gardens and particularly the allotment and Forest School. Her interest in nature and the outdoors has risen markedly and she loves being outside now. Every day there are new activities and the environment changes constantly which is so stimulating for her; it's evident that the staff put so much thought into the set up each day and always pay attention to topics that are interesting her and encourage this. The staff are also warm and provide comfort to my daughter; she talks about the staff all of the time.
This nursery is fantastic. Children here enjoy it very much. Staff are very responsible and careful. The environment is comfortable as well.
My 3-year-old twins started at The Maples a few weeks after we moved back from Australia. From the first very friendly phone enquiry I made from abroad, the team were so helpful and supportive. They took time to explain the childcare system, and the environment and staff all helped to settle them in quicker than expected. The boys are now more comfortable in themselves, caring, knowledgable and most importantly creative and curious as a result of attending. The free flow access to Winterbourne Gardens is a dream, and the boys are clearly more interested in nature now. The sustainability of the nursery is a great plus too. The boys’ individual needs are being well met and we are talking about encouraging more independence as school starts next year which is very forward-thinking of the nursery. Our questions, queries or concerns have been dealt with professionally and with integrity. We hope many more families can have the wonderful experience we have.
We have been extremely happy with Maples Nursery, the space is beautiful and the staff is absolutely lovely. My daughter is eager to come to nursery every day and seems so happy to be there. I also love that the children are able to use the Winterbourne Gardens to play and explore. Overall we are very satisfied with Maples Nursery and have recommended it to many of our friends.
This nursery is amazing. The staff know my child inside out and the welcome we receive is always warm and friendly. The approach promotes children's independence and they have access to the amazing gardens at Winterbourne all of the time. We couldn't ask for more - he is making brilliant progress here and has a lovely relationship with his key person who he talks about all of the time. I couldn't recommend it any more.
Choosing a nursery presents every parent with a challenging decision, but the minute we entered The Maples Nursery we knew that it was the right choice for our little one. A welcoming, homely environment, interesting toys, access to nature, but more importantly staff that care. Not only does Maples have its own outdoor area, the children also regularly get to visit Winterbourne Gardens to play, explore and plant vegetables in the nursery's allotment. We have not looked back - Maples Nursery is a very special place, where our son plays and develops and we have peace of mind that he is in good hands.
I really recommend this nursery!! My son (and my husband and me) loves it. The staff is so friendly and nice. From the very beginning, we had a very good feeling. The settling in was very nice and child orientated and very different to the way the other nurseries did it. We are so happy with the curiosity approach and the lovely atmosphere. Our son has been in another nursery before and it was amazing to see how his behaviour changed in this new environment. He really enjoys being there and he really likes going to the winterbourne gardens and the woods. It's really worth the money!
