The best nursery in Derby! The difference to others is unparalleled, in every way possible. The best possible start for my little one! A credit to the staff who are all round brilliant along with the facility. Second to none.

We've always found the nursery to be brilliant. Both of our children now go here and they both thoroughly enjoy it. I recently attended a Mother's Day event with my eldest which was absolutely fantastic. A great mix of activities to bond with my son in his environment. He loved showing me all of the things he likes to do at nursery and giving me a tour of the amazing outside space. One of many well organised events. Highly recommend to anyone looking for childcare.

My son is cared for in the Puddle-Duck room. As a first time Mum, I was very nervous leaving my baby to go back to work. The first key worker I met has been outstanding. She made me feel at ease and my son became fond of her very quickly. He has now been at Maggies for over 3 months and loves all the staff there and has developed in himself massively. He always has a huge smile on his face at pick ups because he has so much fun here. Thank you to all the girls for your hard work!

One of the best nurseries around. Amazing staff who really care for the kids and take the time to get to know them. Very good grounds and activities offered including woodwork that my son loves. Cannot fault them, thank you all for the amazing job you do !

Absolutely fantastic nursery, friendly and kind staff. Everyone always has a smile on their faces and nothing is every too much. They listen and take note of your child's routine, which puts your mind at ease as a parent. They are extremely amazing with the children. My little girl walks into nursery waving goodbye to either myself or her Daddy and is so happy going in. Also when she comes out she is so happy and smiley, showing she has had the best day. The facilities are second to none and I haven't seen another nursery close by which offers anything similar. Hand on heart the best decision we've made choosing this nursery. A massive shoutout to the Jemima Puddleducks ladies, you are honestly the best!

Our son has attended Maggies since he was 7 months old and the level of care he's received in both rooms so far has been outstanding. He makes wonderful relationships with the ladies looking after him and his development has really shone through. He goes in happy and comes out happy and that's really given us confidence as parents that he really enjoys his days at nursery. In addition to that, the environment, and indoor and outdoor spaces are beyond compare and it really feels a very special place and community to be part of.

Maggie's have been brilliant with our son. He has really flourished there and enjoys going, learning a lot socially, educationally and loves the staff. We moved out of area but still go. The outside space is wonderful as are the room themes

Maggie's Day Nursery and Forest School is a very special place. We have seen our son flourish at nursery; he genuinely loves his time there. He is very happy and confident at nursery and is making strong friendships with other children and has a great relationship with staff. Everyone in the team is passionate about ensuring children have the best and most enjoyable learning experience. They maintain strong communication with us as parents and create a welcoming environment for everyone. The nursery has an amazing range of toys and learning materials. Our son loves being outside and the nursery has large grounds for outdoor play. The Forest School is exceptional.

My son started in June 2024 when he was 9 months old and is now moving up to the next class. The baby room has been brilliant for his growth and milestones. The staff really go above and beyond and are so nurturing towards our children. They create amazing bonds, they are helpful, attentive and really are a credit to Maggie's nursery. My son would be dropped off with a smile and put his arms out to every member of staff ready to start his day which makes it so comforting for a parent knowing they are happy and safe in the environment. He's so much more confident, learnt to crawl, walk and is developing everyday which I know the nursery has supported with that so thank-you. Shout out to Lou (she's amazing, friendly, full of energy and was a big part of my little boys time in the baby room) so thank-you!!

Our experience with Children's 1st has been really good from day 1. All the staff are friendly and have built positive relationships with our son. His development has come along leaps and bounds and I cannot thank the team enough for providing a safe space for him to learn and grow into his personality more whilst he is in their care.

Ever since our son started at Maggie's in July, we have had nothing but positive experiences. All staff truly care about the children and this is so evident through the way they look after them, the nursery itself and the provision they provide. Communication with parents is effective and clear. The staff have always been incredibly helpful and go above and beyond, every day. Our son settled in really quickly and loves going to nursery. We would recommend Maggie's to everyone!

My daughter has been at Maggie's since September 2023. I knew the moment I went to view the setting that it would be the one to support my daughter in flourishing into a little girl. As a teacher myself, when I saw the nursery in action and the activities and establishment that they had set up was second to none. My daughter has come on in leaps and bounds and to see her excel in her development, primarily thanks to those at Maggie's, is so wonderful. Her daily achievements and developmental milestones are continuously being achieved. The staff throughout the establishment are warm, welcoming and loving and seeing her grow as she has progressed through the different rooms is amazing. I honestly recommend the nursery to every mother and expectant mother I know and I will continue to use the establishment for my future children which I am hopeful for. Thank you all, you're worth your weight in gold.

Both of my boys attend Maggie's. They are so happy and so eager to arrive every morning. The eldest gets a real variety of activities from forest school to the creative and cookery rooms. The youngest is so confident, he just walks into the room and doesn't look back!

We've been fortunate to have both our girls attend Maggie's. We could not praise the staff enough. The facilities are incredible, inside areas have wonderful equipment and areas set out to help imaginative play. Outside there are areas for play, learning, cooking, fire pits, a stream for the ducks to play in, and goats and rabbits. It sounds made up but this really is incredible. More than the facilities are the staff here. They are amazing. The care and support they show is amazing. They feel like true friends to our girls. They come home with facts about Space and the World and are just enthusiastic and excited about having learned so much. They make this place amazing. It feels like they have the right leadership in place to keep this place amazing. We would wholeheartedly recommend this nursery.

This nursery has been brilliant from the first moment we were shown around to the current date where our daughter is 2 and a half years old and still loving this amazing nursery. Our daughter loves the staff, the activities, the food, the environment and everything about this nursery. The nursery has brilliant facilities, a forest school and lots of animals. Our daughter really enjoys the outside areas and always tells us how much she enjoys her day. The staff are fantastic, they care so much and always appear knowledgeable and helpful. This is echoed in the management too who have always been great at communicating and answering any questions we have. Christmas and summer events which are put on are always well attended and great fun for all the family. Communication from the nursery through newsletters and parent admin is always useful too. We couldn’t be happier with the service provided by Children 1st @ Oakwood and would thoroughly recommend this nursery!

My 2 girls attend the nursery 2 days a week and they love it and always enjoy going. The facilities available to them are amazing and the setting is beautiful. The staff are outstanding, lovely and professional and they work so hard every day.

When my son started nursery he was upset and took time to adjust but the staff and management were very supportive and understanding and it was reassuring to offer phone calls to check-in. The nursery always looks clean and well-kept. When picking my son up he is always clean and looks well looked after. The staff are very enthusiastic about the children and engage with them. The management has always been helpful too. I haven't had any issues but I feel if I did I would be listened to.

My son has been with the nursery for three years now and he's loved every moment of it. Moving through all the rooms, he has felt looked after and always has fun at nursery. He also has possible ASD (autism) spotted by me and nursery, the nursery has been so overwhelmingly supportive of him and me. I'm a single mum to him and been through a lot, both us, the nursery has been the biggest support for me and him! I am the only parent to him. We can't thank them enough. The staff are such a credit, every single one of them. They're all so bubbly, attentive, caring, loving and always smiling. I was nervous with my son's nativity however they put all support in place for him, making sure he felt comfortable and he did amazing! My son is able to completely be his confident, loud self around them because he is so comfortable in this environment. Definitely a five-star nursery.

I love sending my child here, there is always something new and creative. There is a lesson/timetable of what the children will be learning and a menu available for what they are eating, to keep the parents in the loop. The staff are always compassionate when dealing with any illness or situation. I know my child is always super excited to go to nursery and has so many positive experiences when there.

Staff are helpful and happy to chat and advise on drop-off and collection. My child has a great time when there and chats about what they have done that day. My child does go in upset sometimes but the staff are brilliant at comforting my child and help distract and take their mind off me going. Excellent they go outside and explore, my child loves being outside as well. The security is brilliant, makes you feel safe to leave them there as well.

We've always found the nursery to be brilliant. Both of our children now go here and they both thoroughly enjoy it.
