View Full Details of The World Outside KindergartenMy daughter attended this nursery for 2 years and she really flourished. The nursery is such a unique and beautiful setting, the staff are kind and will always have time for a chat. I think the nature provides such a calming and relaxing atmosphere, really such a special place.
We were overjoyed when this special nursery sprung up. Long had we waited for a place to share our ethos. My daughter was so pleased she could offer her child a similar upbringing she had experienced in Canada. When our granddaughter started school this September she was completely ready to interact with different age groups, she was confident in her own physical and learning ability and had buckets of enthusiasm for new things. We thank The World Outside team for giving her endless support. Their enthusiasm and encouraging nature meant that even on days she struggled, our granddaughter was met with smiles, patience, tolerance and a calm understanding of what she needed. The team empathise with all the children and actively engages children to think about actions and reasoning behind choice, so they are never overwhelmed, only supported. An excellent place to start a learning adventure, I'm jealous I couldn't stay each day too.
My boy has a medical condition which is helped by being outdoors. He also has complex personal, social and emotional needs due to this. I bring my son 18 miles to this nursery from Birmingham. He has improved in so many ways since coming last June. The care from staff is exemplary for all the family. My son is always so happy (and dirty which I love!) when I pick him up and he doesn't want to leave. His ability to concentrate, focus and listen has exploded through the teaching and learning style here - it suits his character and complex needs perfectly. I have seen him grow in imagination, problem-solving and independence since coming which is amazing. My child has missed out on so much due to his medical needs and The World Outside picked up the challenge to help him and is excelling. Thank you, everyone. I especially love the app you use to communicate with parents - it helps to cut down on excess work. I feel safe and secure being able to connect easily - even when in the woods
My son joined the nursery in January 2022. He settled in straight away and has now been there for a year. The staff are lovely, professional and very supportive. My son has delayed speech and the staff have gone above and beyond to help support both my son and me by teaching us some Makaton signs and liaising with speech and language therapists. We get updates throughout the day and we get daily photos of the activities they do. I love seeing my son toasting bread on the fire or playing in the mud kitchen. Even though it's an outdoor kindergarten, they still incorporate learning skills within the activities. I couldn't imagine sending my son to any other nursery.
Such a unique kindergarten, the staff really do make it all come together. In the winter months, the kids are wrapped up but are moving so much and having a great time. My daughter particularly spent most of her time finding bugs and getting down in the mud kitchen. They also have a book borrowing scheme where the kids change the book every week. Great sense of community, there is also an inside area very much like a standard classroom for when it's too cold or too windy for play outside.
Our experience of the kindergarten has been wonderful. The staff are passionate about caring for the whole child and outside learning. My son has thoroughly enjoyed the time he has spent there and looks forward to attending. Relationships with staff have been nurtured and friendships have been developed. The provision is creative and child-led with varied activities and resources. The management is excellent and all staff are approachable and experienced. I couldn't have hoped for more.
