I cannot recommend Pier Head Prep Montessori School highly enough! My 3-year-old daughter has been attending for some time now, and we are absolutely thrilled with the experience. From the moment we walked in, we were welcomed into a warm, nurturing, and stimulating environment. The teachers are truly outstanding-patient, caring, and incredibly dedicated to each child's individual development. The Montessori approach they follow is fantastic, allowing children to explore and learn at their own pace while fostering independence, confidence, and curiosity.

I've been so pleased with The Pier Head Montessori for my 3-year-old. The staff is incredibly caring and attentive, creating a warm and welcoming environment that my child loves. I can see how much they've grown in just a short time - not only in terms of learning but also in confidence and independence. The Montessori approach really shines here, with a great balance of structured activities and free play, which encourages my child to explore and learn at their own pace. The communication from the teachers is excellent, and I always feel well-informed about what's going on. Overall, it's a wonderful, nurturing place that I feel really good about for my child's early education. Highly recommend!

I can't say enough wonderful things about our experience at The Pier Head. Our two kids started attending when they were just 18 months and 3 years old, and from day one, it truly felt like a home away from home, we all cried on their last days. The nurturing environment provided by the staff made us feel completely comfortable leaving our little ones in their care. The attention and love they give each child are remarkable. The team creates a warm and inviting atmosphere where kids can thrive, explore, and make friends. My children still talk about their time there with such fondness and consider it a safe haven. We wholeheartedly recommend this nursery to any families looking for a loving and supportive place for their kids. It has been an invaluable part of our lives, and we are so grateful for the positive impact it's had on our children!

I'm so pleased we picked this nursery for our child. He was well looked after throughout. We saw our child's willingness to learn and grow and how excited he was to go back every day proved how safe and welcoming The Pier Head is. Please don't hesitate, your child will be happy here.

Our daughter attended The Pier Head and always enjoyed going although now is too old and moving to Reception. The staff are always friendly, kind and attentive to her. Her behaviour had issues from her previous nursery we weren't happy with - this improved dramatically when moving to Pier Head, thanks to the staff being kind and caring towards her and helped hugely. The staff develop genuine bonds with the children and it's evident they care deeply about them at a personal level, which I believe is really important. I cannot thank them all enough for how they have looked after her so well and engaged and challenged her. Everyone is also responsive to the parents either on the door, phone or email. It was with genuine sadness we have had to move on.

My daughter adores going to The Pier Head Prep Montessori School. The teaching and learning activities as well as the learning environment are rich and allow children to flourish. The teachers are loving and caring and I feel my child is safe, listened and attended to. My daughter has made wonderful friends and feels excited about going to the nursery as they have a variety of activities. They have lots of fun. I highly recommend this nursery.

My child has attended this Montessori school for two years- we are truly amazed by her progress and learning achievements. This small school is based on the river Thames with views of the Thames. The setting and staff go beyond the call of duty. I visited other Montessori nurseries near by and they didn't seem like they followed the Montessori ethos.

My niece currently attends Pier Head and cannot fault the staff at all! She always comes home telling us how much fun she has had and is always well cared for by all staff members! The practice is always clean and safe for all children with a wide range of learning activities on display!

This nursery is like family. Small, cosy, warm, caring, full of love and kindness. My neighbours recommended it to me, and I wasn't disappointed. My daughter started here when she was 2, and she has been the happiest little girl since. It's a perfect little mix of good things. The Montessori program is followed very well, and parents are kept posted every step of the way. Children of different ages spend a lot of time together, which pushes them to develop better and form friendships. The team is lovely, easy to communicate with, and they truly care about every child. The space, location and outdoor garden are lovely and just what's needed. And with all this, the nursery is very affordable. Best choice in the area. Thank you team!

The manager and staff really truly have an approach to children. Seamless, focused, kind and caring, relaxing atmosphere and happy and smiley children - honestly it's a hidden gem. We've been around to other nurseries and we've been in the area for many years now with both our children attending the Pier Head. I can't recommend it enough.

My daughter has been going to The Pier Head for a year now and she loves it there. The teachers are very good, the activities they do with the children are great and what is most important is that they are loving and caring with the children. I am really happy that my little one is in a safe place and in very good hands. I highly recommend the nursery.

A small Montessori school, family run, my child is not just a number. It’s very open and the teachers are so kind! I love the curriculum and the ethos. I was looking for a more structured education for my child and this is definitely the right place.

I have had a great experience with this nursery school located by Shadwell Basin, which is a peaceful, quiet area, a serene location away from noise and traffic. The staff are incredibly friendly and welcoming. My daughter has been really well looked after, coming home happy and full of stories to tell. She's participated in a wide range of activities, encouraging her to explore her interests and learn new things in a fun and engaging way. It's clear the staff genuinely care about the children and their development. I couldn't be happier with my choice and highly recommend this nursery to other parents looking for a safe, nurturing, and stimulating environment for their children.

A lovely nursery with a great spacious room full of light, with big windows and Thames views. Great outdoor space with lots of equipment. My 20-month-old daughter started 4 months ago and settled beautifully. She gets in the nursery every morning with a big smile, barely turning back to say bye! My eldest also attended from 2019 to 2021. The staff hasn’t changed in 5 years, which is a big plus as staff turnover can be distressing for children. The environment is very loving and caring. They have a solid routine, which creates a good environment for naps for example. The Montessori curriculum and material is perfect for this age group and the staff always comes up with innovative play ideas, both indoor and outdoor. There is a focus on using natural materials in their activities. Overall, the children are behaving very well and are very respectful to each other. I had experience with other, bigger nurseries and I like the Pier Head’s family spirit!

I wanted my daughter to join a Montessori school as Montessori is a beautiful way to teach children. The views are beautiful and the children get to see river life. I’ve seen my daughter out on nature walks feeding the wild life! The teachers are so kind and gentle with the children, it’s like having an extended family. I’m updated daily on progress and education. I’m so pleased I found this school. Great value for money too

My daughter attended this school from the age of 2 until 3.5 when we moved house. I think the school was very good for her development. The kids are all quite well behaved and she made lots of friends at school, and is now thriving at her new school. The teachers are all very kind and caring.

Beautiful montessori school, my child is so happy after moving them from another setting. They have settled so well and the teachers are amazing. Happy to see all the children so engaged in activities. Parents get feedback daily.

My daughter has been going to Pierhead since the age of 2. It is a family-run independent nursery, with amazing views of the Thames. The staff are what really makes this nursery stand out from their peers. The care and attention that they give to the children is amazing and my daughter flourished under her key person. She has grown into a confident and intelligent young girl with both excellent vocabulary and critical reasoning skills. It is a great sign when your kid is excited to go to nursery every day. I really encourage any prospective parents to visit around pick-up times, because you will see the happiest children being collected. My daughter has now started Reception in September, an independent school in the City of London. The initial feedback from the Head is that she has had an amazing start and has been “oozing confidence” in the classroom. This is all down to her key person and her amazing teaching team, so a really big thank you!

My daughter attended Pier Head since she turned 2 all the way to the start of reception and we are very pleased with our selection. We always left her happy and picked up a very happy child. All the teachers are kind, relaxed, and very good. And we saw our little girl thrive through the years. Their admin could improve but all in all they are very good and that didn’t affect the attention and care to the children. Highly recommend!

My son has been attending the nursery for about a year. I really love the connections he has built with his teachers especially one staff member who noticed he is on the spectrum and they have now begun the process for getting his diagnosis. My son has really come out of his shell and began to open up and become more friendly and sociable which was a huge issue for us in his day-to-day life. Couldn’t recommend the nursery more. Also being that this is a Montessori nursery they are very heavily focused on developing the children’s education which they show with providing pictures on a daily basis. Great nursery!
