View Full Details of Little Years Nursery AcombOur baby started at Little Years in Acomb after we removed her from her previous setting. As a mother with disabilities and chronic health conditions, it was important for me to find a family-centred provision where integrity, understanding, and collaboration were key values. Initially sceptical due to past experiences, I was reassured when my baby bonded immediately with her keyworker. Seeing her reach out for a hug at their first meeting put my mind at rest. Since then, she has continued to thrive and comes home happy, wriggling and giggling. The manager is friendly, non-judgemental, and is a credit to the nursery. Little Years is a wonderful setting, and though no nursery is perfect, they take accountability and remedy any issues promptly. This builds trust, positive relationships, and a sense of belonging. I would recommend Little Years and look forward to my baby staying with them until she transitions to primary school. Thank you to the team for everything you do for us.
Little Years has been a haven for my child with special needs. Being turned away elsewhere due to his gastrostomy feedings, they embraced my son with open arms, offering empathy for our journey and excitement for his inclusion. The settling process, with its challenges like vomiting when upset, took over two months, but the staff's unwavering support and positive attitude made all the difference. I never once felt judged, only encouraged by their big smiles and willingness to try again each day. I feel safe leaving him in their caring hands, knowing he's nurtured wholly. The nursery is clean, and the food is so fantastic that my child with severe food aversion has even started eating by mouth! As an anxious mum with past negative experiences, I initially struggled to trust any nursery setting. However, Little Years' dedication and understanding helped me gradually build that trust. They were also patient with my endless questions. I wholeheartedly recommend Little Years.
The team at LYN are amazing and so good with my little boy can not thank them enough! Best nursery by far and the staff are amazing! Would most definitely recommend them to anyone thinking about getting there little one into nursery
My grandson has recently started Little Years Nursery. It is normal to be apprehensive when a 2-year-old starts nursery but in our case, our grandson has significant additional needs. The manager has embraced the challenges of caring for our grandson and now, after only a few weeks, we are much less anxious as we leave the nursery! The manager has already completed training on caring for our grandson’s peg feed, including the ability to give him his medication safely. Overall, the nursery is extremely friendly and accommodating and we feel that my daughter made the right decision when choosing this nursery for our very special little grandson.
Absolutely brilliant nursery! Thank you to the very caring staff, they put their absolute all into the children and are lovely people in general. They have a beautiful setting. The meals and snacks are of a wide variety every day, allowing children to explore foods. I cannot fault the Little Years Nursery team at all, they’re amazing!
Lovely nursery, lovely staff make you feel welcome, my granddaughter loves going. They have a great variety of things for them to do and the food is good, a lot of choice. Staff are very friendly and welcoming.
My son joined Little Years Nursery in Acomb in February 2024 and we are extremely happy with the service. My son is calm and happy at drop-off and pick-up times; he enjoys the food and the activities provided and all adults seem super sweet with him and other children. What I like the most about Little Years is the chilled environment. It's peaceful, clean and a great place to play and learn.
Fantastic staff who go the extra mile to give both parents and child(ren) the best experience. The facilities are fantastic, and the environment always seems relaxed and positive. My little boy struggled to settle at first, but it wasn’t long before he felt comfortable. Great communication and regular review of his settling-in phase.
Little Years has been incredibly accommodating of our little one and our schedule. She loves going to nursery, and you can tell she always has a good time as she comes home smiling and never makes a fuss when she's dropped off. I love the updates we get about her during the day, and the team is always willing to listen to any concerns we have no matter how big or small. I'm so thankful for everything they do and the safe environment they provide for our baby to thrive.
Our daughter has SEN and we had a very long search to find the right place for her to go. She was welcomed with open arms into the burrow (acomb little years) and seems to be thriving here. We haven't seen her so happy to go anywhere so this is amazing. The staff and other children have all made this an amazing process for us and her and the care is above outstanding I would definitely recommend the nursery to other families.
My daughter has just started at the nursery but can’t wait to go back after we pick her up staff are amazing with her as she is special needs I believe that this is the perfect place for her to go she has already made friends and loves the staff because they are truly amazing people and deserve for that to be recognised
A fantastic close-knit nursery! They have been wonderful in transitioning my baby into nursery life and she absolutely adores going. Staff members are friendly, polite and really get to know your child, putting your mind completely at ease. I am so pleased we chose Little Years! Our baby has grown in confidence so much since attending.
My daughter started Little Years in December and as a parent who was very apprehensive about sending her the staff have made it a very smooth transition. The staff are very attentive and if I have a question they are always very happy to answer it.
Little Years Acomb have been so impressive in our short time with them so far. My 18-month-old son seemingly loves his time there, and the variety of activities, food etc he experiences is clear to see. He has some complex medical issues, and the staff have been so attentive to his needs and requirements, showing a willingness and interest to learn and implement all that’s needed for my son to thrive in the nursery. Communication from the nursery staff is excellent. I feel very confident my son is in very safe, capable and nurturing hands!
My son has had a lovely start to his new nursery. He’s had a warm welcome, as have I, and he seems very happy and comfortable when going into nursery in the morning. The setting has so much potential and I can’t wait to see it develop over time as it has a lovely, homely feel which I think it’s really nice for the little ones to feel safe and at home. So far so good for our first few weeks.
Fantastic newly opened nursery! Staff really friendly, caring and compassionate. Really responsive to all our requests and questions any time of the day! (Even out of hours!) Communication and updates through the app are brilliant. Beautiful building, decor and facilities. A really exciting and safe place for little ones. Really happy we found it!
The manager and the staff at Little Years have been great with my little one. They’ve already built a great relationship with her in the short time they’ve been open. She also really loves the Little Adventures they’ve taken her on, to the library and the local care home. Also, the forest school sessions so far have been a great hit, she doesn’t stop referencing the fire they made.
Just transferred our little one to this nursery from a well-known local chain, and have absolutely no regrets. We were initially a bit nervous as they are a brand new site, with a brand new team, but our little one loves it there and the manager seems like an excellent nursery manager. He has already been out on several trips into the local area in the few short weeks he's been there and made friends with a staff member's young daughter who also attends the nursery. We met the owner at the nursery open day last month, who seems very passionate about childcare, and bought good quality prosecco for the welcome drinks! I believe they have big plans for the outside space and are planning on creating an outside play/learning area, which will be lovely in the summer months. The nursery is pretty quiet at the moment as it's only been open a few weeks, but I'm sure by the new year they will have a waiting list, so get in fast as this is definitely going to be one of the areas sought after nurseries.
Little Years Acomb is a fantastic nursery. The setting itself is beautiful, so cosy and welcoming, with plenty of wooden toys and creative activities around for the little ones to use. They have a lovely outside area for forest school activities and are in close proximity to outside amenities like the local library and parks. The staff are also incredible - gentle and kind, and so very welcoming. Home-cooked meals are provided every day, and communication is excellent. Our little one was just over 2 years old when she started at this nursery and had never been looked after by anyone other than mum or dad. She was immediately comfortable with the nursery staff, and from the very first day had no issues settling. I would highly recommend this nursery to anybody.
