View Full Details of Charterhouse Square School NurseryDuring his first year in the nursery class, Charter House Square School has provided our son the happiest, safe, and nurturing learning environment, we couldn't have asked for more. He's learned to read books independently, is confident to write birthday cards, and talks to us enthusiastically about his days with his friends and teachers, "Momma, did you know the sun is bigger than the earth and gives us lots of energy?!". The range of lessons and activities is fantastic, not only is there numeracy and phonics, but music, dance, drama, and Spanish! Incredible for 4yo's! A shout out to all the 'buddies' in the upper years who help the nursery year settle in, thank you, you've been an amazing support and set a brilliant example to them. Also the fantastic Club House Team, our son loves going after school and during the holidays. We're so happy with the school and excited for the next year in Reception.
A lovely, friendly school that nurtures our kids while getting the best out of them academically. Happy, kind teaching staff and children. Our kids are delighted to walk through the doors each morning.
Great school, with a friendly and familiar atmosphere. Our daughter is happy to go to school every day and makes a lot of friends. She also developed a very positive attitude towards learning. So we could not be happier with our school choice.
Although this is technically a nursery due to the age of the children, it is very much part of the school's ethos and learning. The children are expected to learn, although there is time for play. There is a strong emphasis on numeracy and phonics. The curriculum and expectations are in keeping with what you would find in a reception class. I say this at the start so parents have realistic expectations. That being said, the teachers (there are two and a TA for each class) are very clued up and individualise the learning for my child. They have clearly thought about her strengths and weaknesses and how to help her develop. We are at the end of the first year and my daughter has come on in leaps and bounds. They have pushed her but have been sensitive to her needs. This has provided her with an excellent foundation for the future. It is expensive compared to other nurseries but I think it has been worth the money. As it is a school, be aware that holiday cover is limited.
The children's academic, physical and social skills are consistently stimulated in a warm and friendly environment. The head teacher sets a high standard and is assisted by very able colleagues. Parents can be reassured that their children are in good hands.
My child thrives at Charterhouse Square School Nursery! The teachers are exceptional, nurturing and supportive. The nursery program is academically strong, especially in English and Math, giving children a head start. Most importantly, the school fosters a sense of confidence that allows the children to blossom. Highly recommend!
We are delighted with Charterhouse Square - it's a school setting and it's amazing how much our daughter has developed in her first year there. The teachers are warm and engaging. They also help with the sometimes challenging transitions of starting school (helping both the children and the parent manage any difficult emotions). From feeling nervous and upset about going to school in the first half term, our daughter now marches in happily and independently every day and races out every evening eager to share what she's learned. Most importantly, Charterhouse is an incredibly nurturing and caring environment. Every teacher (at all levels) knows every child by name and in the pre-reception, they are buddied with a child in Year 6 which engenders a wonderful spirit of care and community at all levels of the school both staff and pupils. We - and most importantly, our daughter - are very happy at Charterhouse Sq.
