View Full Details of The Croft Nurseries - StonehavenThe facilities at The Croft in Stonehaven are really good, with two unique buildings along the same road and centrally located in the town. Both facilities have a massive outdoor space and lots of play features for the children to have fun with. Indoors are laid out in natural tones with plenty of space. The staff are extremely good with the children and can cater to each personality. They lay on engaging activities for the children. I love it when I arrive a bit early to collect my son and overhear the children singing, dancing or playing games together, led by staff, during circle time. A particularly special time is that spent in the nearby woods where they undertake outdoor learning activities. My child is preschool age and we like the place so much we have chosen to continue to use it for after-school care going forward.
My son loves all of the outside time at The Croft. The facilities and activities are excellent! Lots of positive experiences and opportunities for the children. My sons also love going on the walks to the train station, park, and beach. The staff are lovely and great with the children.
Have always found the staff to be very caring with a genuine interest in my son's health, welfare and development. My son looks forward to going to nursery and always has a positive experience, which speaks for itself.
The staff are always friendly and take time to update you on your child's day on collection. My child always has a busy day of different activities and is regularly outside. Really happy we chose this nursery.
Nice and helpful staff and management. My daughters love attending The Croft. The school drop off service is very helpful for working parents. I would like to thank the Croft team for all the help we received!
My daughter goes to pre school at The Croft. She feels very safe and secure. The staff always ensure she's included and support her when she needs support. She has solid strong friendships and a great relationship with the staff at The Croft. They have a range of activities for the children and they all seem to be happy. They go out their way to make sure the children have fun. The only negative is that the preschool have to change buildings twice a day due to having too many school kids arriving. This means they don't get to socialise with the older children/friends they went to pre-school with last year.
Great staff, good activities and amazing facilities. Trustworthy setting. Big outdoor play area. Personal attention by assigned child carer. Focus weeks to dig deep into development activities are very helpful. Cleanliness and safety always maintained.
I have a son in anti-pre school and he absolutely loves it, he is well cared for with a huge variety of activities including beach, park and train station trips! The facilities are great and the kids have everything they need. The staff are so friendly and give a full debrief on collection of my little one. I also have a girl in out of school and again it is great, my daughter loves out-of-school club, I feel very comfortable that she is well cared for on the walk from school and fed and watered on arrival. My daughter has additional needs and the staff couldn't do more for her. I am very happy with The Croft Nursery and OOS.
I've always been very happy with the nursery staff, facilities and resources available and have never had any issues. My children have always been happy to go in or settle quickly once in. The outside space is excellent and little excursions that they take the children on are great. I would like to see a bit more about what activities they do daily within the nursery on the social media page though.
Both my children ages 20 months and 4.5 years attend The Croft and we have two extremely happy children who love going to nursery. Both have been there since 9 months old and haven't had any problems. Days out in the community and consistent routines.
Our children have attended The Croft since 2019, the staff are hard-working, friendly and reliable. We wouldn't want to put our kids anywhere else. Over the last 6 months we have noticed positive changes within The Croft. We are very grateful for all the staff do, not to mention our kids have always been happy to attend.
The nursery and staff here are truly amazing at what they do. The staff are all so lovely and approachable. I feel so confident and comfortable that my child is really enjoying his time here. Wide variety of activities on offer for the kids to do during the day. The staff are all very supportive and helpful. My child has gone from being anxious and emotional to now being independent and taken himself into nursery on his days. Highly recommend.
I would highly recommend The Croft to others. My child has thrived here and all the teachers whether in his class or not know his name and acknowledge him by name every single time he sees them when I'm there. He does things at home that I know he must have learned at nursery and I then encourage this at home. The only thing that I would like to improve is the completion of communication on the app. However, on the other hand, if it means teachers are spending the time with my child instead of spending time documenting then I really can't complain as I'd rather that. He loves the food there and always so much variety and wholesome food that he enjoys. The outdoor space is great and I love how the emphasis is on children being outside as he is certainly an outdoor child no matter the weather. The teachers are great, my son loves them all. I get regular updates and all teachers appear to listen to my input.
My daughter really enjoys going to pre-school which, for me, is almost the most important thing. Staff are always friendly but turnover is quite high (pay/progression/training opportunities?). This high turnover is noticed by the children and impacts their learning. Serious police involvement with staff was very poorly handled with regards to communication with parents. Most suggestions are roundly ignored and (previous) ownership were not responsive/pleasant to deal with. Discussing with other parents revealed it was pretty standard to be treated like this. Interactions with out-of-school children used to be really good, exposing the pre-schoolers to older children and preparing them for moving to school. This has now been lost due to the new set-up trying to cram as many Oos kids. This has left a big gap in the children's learning/exposure which could be remedied. Also, any previous friendships with kids who have moved to school are lost now they do not see each other at The Croft anymore.
My child started at The Croft at the start of the year, this was her first time starting nursery, this was a big change for her but the staff and management made her feel very welcome, and made the settling-in sessions very calm and reassuring for my child and myself. My child has been attending The Croft now for almost a year and it's a fantastic nursery, the staff are very polite, friendly, helpful and very understanding. My child had started potty training and I was a bit nervous how she would be at nursery continuing the training but the staff were brilliant and helped her progress even more and encouraged the training each day she attended. The activities they have in place for children to do are great, my child's room is full of loads of fun and engaging items to play with which she enjoys. The outdoor area is brilliant too. The setting as a whole is great and I am very happy I chose this nursery for my child to go to, every pick up she comes out with a big smile on her face.
The Croft Stonehaven is a great nursery. The girls are very welcoming and lovely to speak to, nothing is an issue for them. They keep you updated on their daily activities on collection. My son loves attending this nursery and has done it the the last 2 years. There was no hesitation on starting my son at this nursery, they love having the kids outside playing and taking them out on walks etc which my son loves.
We are very pleased with the level of care that our child receives at The Croft. The staff are very welcoming, give a debrief at the end of the day and are happy to answer any questions that you have. The staff always say hello when they are passing and make a point of speaking to the child (even though they are in a different class). Management are helpful and deal with any queries promptly. Our child really enjoys playing in the outdoor space, which is vast with a good selection of toys, sensory play and imaginative play. Our child also really enjoys the various walks nursery takes her on - trips to the library, to the beach, to the woods, to the park, to the train station and to the fire station. Forest school is also an attractive feature of the nursery once they reach pre-school - although maybe more trips to the forest school would be advantageous. The nursery provide a good selection of food and the children get an opportunity to help in the kitchen preparing snacks.
